Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight-Chapter 1107: She Still Isn’t at Ease
Chu Yin felt she had made herself clear enough, there was no way Fan Yun didn’t understand.
He thought for a few seconds, then looked at Chu Yin.
"Chu Yin, can I trust you?"
"Brother, we’ve come to this point, isn’t it strange to talk about trust now?"
Chu Yin pointed at both of them.
Fan Yun took a deep breath and directly asked, "Do you know the Zhang Family?"
Chu Yin immediately feigned surprise, "The Zhang Family? You mean President Bai’s in-laws?"
"As expected, you know President Bai?" Fan Yun continued to ask.
"Yes, brother, you’ve been busy acting, so you might not be aware of my past issues with the Bai Family. Maybe you should check the news."
Chu Yin took out her phone and searched it for Fan Yun.
After reading the content, Fan Yun looked at Chu Yin in disbelief.
"You... you’re incredible, daring to collaborate with the police on the inside."
"It’s nothing, mainly because back then President Bai liked my appearance. I couldn’t bear to see women and children get hurt, so I agreed to go undercover. Fortunately, the police were reliable."
"Well, that explains everything. Zhang Shutong getting close to me might be because I’m acting with you," Fan Yun said. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Brother, do you think I’ve affected you?" Chu Yin asked worriedly.
"What are you thinking? I’m a law-abiding citizen too, what wrong have you done? Do you really think I would be so infatuated with love?"
Chu Yin chuckled upon hearing this.
Isn’t that so?
Fan Yun gathered his thoughts and said, "So what should we do next? The Zhang Family in Hai City is not someone we can provoke. What if it affects the current filming?"
Chu Yin agreed that he made a good point.
The two of them thought long and hard, but couldn’t figure out Zhang Shutong’s intentions.
Chu Yin said, "She’s being ambiguous with you, how does that affect me? I don’t like you."
Fan Yun added, "She’s planning to enter the entertainment industry, which doesn’t have much impact on you or me either."
Both of them were puzzled.
Just then, a small assistant came over.
"Sister, the next scene is the breakup fight."
"Is it? I almost forgot," Chu Yin took the script.
Fan Yun explained, "Because the supporting actress sows discord, she first uses past relations with the male lead to create an appearance of them being together, then releases photos of the female lead as a third party, causing her to lose her job..."
As they spoke, the two seemed to come to a realization.
"Brother, could it be..."
"No way?"
"These days, many people privately assume we’re together," Chu Yin reminded him.
"If, when things escalate, she pretends to give me hope, I’d definitely keep explaining,"
"That’s the first step of manipulation; she’ll make you constantly prove you like her. By then, she’ll release news of me interfering, and I’ll be criticized for a long time."
The public opinion alone is enough to ruin a person.
Even though Fan Yun is upright now, faced with choices between friends and a girlfriend, it’s normal for him to show bias.
After pondering, the two realized this was the only possibility.
Fan Yun became more certain he was being used by Zhang Shutong.
As they were talking, a sudden ringtone startled them both.
Fan Yun pointed at the phone, "It’s her."
Chu Yin covered her mouth, "Answer it first."
Fan Yun answered the call.
Zhang Shutong’s gentle voice came through, "Are you okay?"
Fan Yun feigned hesitation, "I’m fine, what are you talking about?"
"Nothing, I just thought my tone was off earlier and worried you’d be upset," Zhang Shutong probed.
Fan Yun already knew everything and quickly played along.
"No, it’s my fault. I had a bit to drink and revealed your name out of excitement. Don’t worry, it won’t happen again."
"Alright, then let’s have dinner sometime, and we can sit down and talk," Zhang Shutong offered.
"Okay."
As Fan Yun was about to hang up, Zhang Shutong probed again.
"Are you doing well on the set? Uh... has the female lead been seeking you out?"
Fan Yun was about to say ’no,’ but Chu Yin shook her head.
Fan Yun immediately corrected, "Yes, as we need to promote, we have to shoot some promos. There’s really no other option."
Zhang Shutong clearly sighed in relief.
"I understand."
"Are you angry?" Fan Yun asked as if he was not satisfied with her answer.
"I know it’s not easy for you. How could I be angry? I’m just worried you’re being used."
"Used?" Fan Yun feigned ignorance.
Zhang Shutong appeared kind-hearted, "I had someone inquire about Chu Yin’s character. It seems she’s caused quite a stir in Jing City, which contributed to her rise."
Fan Yun restrained Chu Yin’s urge to explain and said, "Coincidentally, I have friends in Jing City too. I’ll ask them to check it out for me."
Zhang Shutong didn’t expect Fan Yun to react so quickly.
"No need, I was just mentioning it. You two are filming, and if she really had issues, she wouldn’t let you keep filming."
"You have a point. Let’s discuss this when we meet," Fan Yun responded as he usually did.
Zhang Shutong made a sound of agreement and ended the call.
Fan Yun sighed, "It seems we were right, her goal is to use me against you."
Chu Yin nodded while sending her situation to Sang Li.
Sang Li quickly responded.
"Wait for me."
Huh?
Chu Yin was momentarily blank, as the assistant called for the shoot to commence.
Fan Yun stood up, "Things are complicated now, we should take a long-term view."
Chu Yin nodded in agreement.
They had several takes before finally wrapping up for the day.
Suddenly, there was a commotion at the door.
The director hurriedly stood up.
"Mr. Sang, what brings you here?"
"To see... a friend."
Sang Li glanced toward where Chu Yin was coming from.
Chu Yin and Fan Yun quickly approached.
"Mr. Sang."
"Yes, let’s talk outside," Sang Li indicated the rest area outside.
Fan Yun was still a bit puzzled, unsure of what he had to discuss with Sang Li.
Fan Yun leaned closer to Chu Yin and asked, "Mr. Sang is your boss, right? It makes sense for him to find you, but why me?"
Chu Yin pressed her lips together, "He’s more than just a boss."
"..."
Fan Yun was momentarily stunned.
The next moment, Sang Li waved at Chu Yin.
"Are you alright?"
Chu Yin went over and took his hand, "I’m fine."
Fan Yun gaped, staring at their clasped hands.
Chu Yin pointed to Sang Li, "My boyfriend."
Fan Yun smiled, unsure of what to say.
Sang Li continued, "Mr. Fan, Chu Yin has told me everything about you and Zhang Shutong. Now that you’re involved, if you want to stay out of trouble, I hope you cooperate."
Fan Yun nodded, "Okay, I’ll cooperate. But I don’t know what Miss Zhang intends to do."
"No problem, I already have some clues. As long as you and Chu Yin put on a show, the other party will show their hand," Sang Li reassured.
"Mr. Sang, are you suggesting Chu Yin and I play along with it?"
"Yes. Zhang Shutong’s brother, Zhang Jia, is a computer expert. You may think you’ve discovered it early, but they might have already grasped the secrets you wish to keep hidden," Sang Li warned.
Fan Yun pressed his lips together.
Everyone has their little secrets.
Chu Yin raised her eyes, "If we wait until their brother and sister have our secrets to threaten us, it will be hard not to compromise."
The two shuddered.
Suddenly, Fan Yun’s phone lit up.
"It’s a text from Miss Zhang, she’s asking me to dinner tonight."
Sang Li said coldly, "It seems she’s still not reassured."
