Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight-Chapter 1091: Is the Ice Cream Cone Tasty?
Chu Yin’s mind was filled with Lin Zhiyi’s words.
She had tried to comfort Sang Li before, but Sang Li seemed resistant to such efforts.
Lin Zhiyi deepened her smile watching Chu Yin struggle for ideas.
"Do you really think you can’t console Mr. Sang? He’s just used to restraining himself and making no mistakes. Plus, he couldn’t give you a clear answer before."
"Really?"
Chu Yin seemed to have found a solution.
Lin Zhiyi smiled and said no more. Once the party ended, she greeted the ladies and left.
Meanwhile, after Sang Li and Jia Xin greeted everyone, Chu Yin was nowhere to be seen.
He walked out of the banquet hall, and Zhou Zhao followed him.
"Where’s Chu Yin?"
"She said she’d wait for you in the car and told me not to follow you." Zhou Zhao hesitated, pointing at himself, "So should I follow?"
As Zhou Zhao spoke, his mouth stretched into a grin.
"Meeting up with Chen Jin for a late-night snack again? Well, good luck, give me the car keys."
"Oh, right, the boss asked when you’d bring Chu Yin to have a meal back home." Zhou Zhao said as he handed the car keys to Sang Li.
Sang Li said, "Soon."
Having said that, Sang Li headed to the parking lot.
The VIP parking lot was quiet.
Upon getting into the car, Chu Yin was sitting properly inside.
"You’re here."
"What’s wrong?" Sang Li asked.
Upon hearing his voice, Chu Yin immediately shifted her position.
"Are you still angry?"
Sang Li rested his hand on his knee, appearing casual, yet subtly exerting force.
"Are you so certain your sister didn’t keep anything back apart from altering her appearance and drugging? If she acts recklessly halfway through, what would you do alone?"
Chu Yin pressed her lips together, gathering courage to seize his hand.
"Don’t be angry. We actually just didn’t have time to tell you; later, didn’t Young Master Jia explain the situation to you? Considering I prepared a gift for you, please don’t be mad."
"Gift?"
Sang Li looked at Chu Yin with some curiosity.
Chu Yin took out an ice cream cone from beside her, slowly unwrapping it.
"I just asked the waiter to buy it for me. Strawberry flavor."
"Ice cream cone? Strawberry flavor?"
Sang Li sighed slightly, wondering if Chu Yin thought he liked such things?
Chu Yin understood Sang Li’s implication and waggled her finger.
"No, no, no, this isn’t just any ice cream cone."
"Is that so? Let me try it."
Sang Li leaned over, but Chu Yin stopped him.
"You won’t taste what’s special eating it that way."
"Then how should I eat it?" Sang Li asked with interest, watching Chu Yin.
Chu Yin took the ice cream cone back and brushed a bit against her lips.
"Like this."
"..."
Sang Li’s eyes tightened, his pupils reflecting Chu Yin’s face.
On her exquisite face, her naturally rosy lips now bore some white ice cream and red jam.
Making them look especially tempting.
Seeing Sang Li’s lack of response, Chu Yin hesitated for a few seconds.
"Isn’t it gross?" she opened awkwardly, "I knew it, what they show in movies is fake."
Saying that, she gave her upper lip a lick, intending to remove the ice cream.
But before she finished licking, her body swayed as she was pressed into the seat.
"Mmm."
Soon the car’s interior felt short on oxygen, leaving only the breathless low gasping.
The melting ice cream spread between their lips, making Chu Yin grip the remaining cone tightly.
Between breaths, she managed to speak a few words haltingly.
"The ice cream cone...it’s going to melt and dirty our... clothes."
"Mmm." Sang Li spoke in a hoarse voice, his forehead resting against Chu Yin’s, "Then take them off."
Chu Yin was taken aback and tightened her grip on the cone, directly crushing the crunchy outer shell, letting ice cream drip onto their clothes and skin.
The cold sensation triggered a shiver.
Sang Li slowly lowered his head to catch the drifting ice cream.
Cold and warm alternated.
Chu Yin felt both submerged and aflame inside.
Sang Li looked up and questioned her, "Is it okay?"
Okay?
What does he mean by okay?
Chu Yin nodded muddledly, releasing a small ’mm’ from between her lips.
When she finally became clear-headed, she realized Sang Li was asking about that matter.
Not about the ice cream cone, but about taking off clothes.
And she had said "mm."
Once her mind cleared, she’d already arrived at Sang Li’s apartment.
As the door closed, Chu Yin was already dizzy from the kisses.
Though at the critical moment, her hand was gripped by Sang Li, resting on the door handle.
Sang Li took a deep, restrained breath.
"Chu Yin, you can still leave."
Chu Yin thought for a moment and then clasped his fingers, looking up at him.
"My dress is already dirty."
"Alright."
The man appeared no longer the gentleman.
Nevertheless, Sang Li was still considerate of it being Chu Yin’s first time, carefully carrying her into the bedroom.
Chu Yin didn’t regret her choice.
On the contrary, she felt every day now was a bonus.
She could take responsibility for her decision.
She trusted Sang Li, too.
The late-night warmth gradually increased, going on without pause through the night.
Finally, Chu Yin was about to faint from exhaustion.
"Mr. Sang, you can’t overdo it."
"Mmm." The man responded hoarsely.
"You’ve already agreed, yet you won’t let go of me."
"Let’s just sleep like this."
"You... I’m supposed to return to the set tomorrow." Chu Yin reminded him.
"Shall I request a day off for you?"
"No." Chu Yin replied seriously, "Don’t interfere with my work."
"Alright."
Sang Li got up, picked a robe off the floor, and draped it over his shoulder as he stood up.
Chu Yin peeked out of the covers, quickly turning her face away.
Sang Li casually tied his belt, "I’ll run you the bath."
Chu Yin covered her face and nodded, peeking between her fingers at Sang Li.
Sang Li chuckled and went to the bathroom.
After a while, when Chu Yin was nearly asleep, Sang Li carried her into the bathroom.
Settling into the tub, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Finishing her bath, she started looking for her gown.
Sang Li sat questioningly at the bedside, "What’s wrong?"
"I’m putting on clothes to go back to the hotel." Chu Yin stated as a matter of course.
Instead of finding her gown, she was pinned onto the bed by Sang Li.
"Chu Yin, are you planning to wear that dress and leave without taking responsibility?"
"What do you mean wear a dress and not take responsibility? I’m just afraid someone will see us." Chu Yin explained.
"Let them see, so what if we’re unmarried men or women? You don’t want to?"
"No, it’s just... I haven’t succeeded yet." Chu Yin dared not look at Sang Li.
In her eyes, Sang Li’s brilliance was blinding.
It used to feel akin to clinging to a sugar daddy when confessing her feelings.
But now she wants a relationship with Sang Li that’s equal.
Though it seems rather challenging.
Sang Li smiled lightly, "Feelings and career don’t clash, neither do we. If I can slap my own face, what else is impossible?"
Slap his own face?
Chu Yin looked up at him and suddenly laughed.
Sang Li indeed had slapped his face somewhat.
From clearly expressing his disinterest in her, to slightly liking her, and now holding her without letting go.
Chu Yin asked, "Any thoughts, Mr. Sang?"
Sang Li smiled softly, "Had I known you’d become mine, I would’ve done it earlier... mmm."
Chu Yin: "Enough, no need to say more, let’s sleep."
"Mmm."
Sang Li pulled Chu Yin into his embrace.
As Chu Yin drifted into a haze, she couldn’t resist asking one question.
"Was the ice cream cone tasty?"
"..."
