Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight-Chapter 1071: Did You Make This Food?
"Ah!"
This voice... Chu Wu.
Lin Zhiyi turned to where the sound came from.
Sister Meng said, "It’s really lively, it looks like this reality show next door is getting quite a reaction."
Lin Zhiyi didn’t agree.
She couldn’t believe Sister Meng couldn’t tell how fake Chu Yin’s scream was.
If she could praise that, Lin Zhiyi had nothing to say.
She just gave a perfunctory smile, "Yeah, it’s pretty lively, I just wonder if the people on site are okay with their ears."
Sister Meng couldn’t manage a smile, awkwardly pursing her lips.
"Just watch Chu Yin."
"..."
Turns out Sister Meng understood the sarcasm.
Lin Zhiyi looked over at Chu Yin’s side, it was obvious the directors and guests were putting in more effort.
Though she didn’t really get these sorts of things, she felt that Chu Yin’s episode seemed pretty good.
Lin Zhiyi got tired of watching and sat down next to her to drink coffee.
It was just one simple episode, and the recording took over six hours.
And it was at night, Lin Zhiyi was exhausted, yet everyone else was still moving around.
By the time it finished, the ghostly wailing next door also ended.
Chu Yin and the guests came over, chatting and laughing.
"Who’s next door?"
"I’m puzzled too, the set next door was for some funny little games, how come it caused such a scene?"
One of the guests also found it odd.
"We’ve recorded together several times, and this is the first time I’ve encountered such a situation. Shouldn’t there be more laughter? Why the ghostly shrieks?" another said.
"Chu Yin, let’s grab a meal together sometime," someone suggested.
"Sure, thank you all for your hard work."
Chu Yin greeted them and then walked up to Lin Zhiyi.
"Zhiyi, you’re still here? You worked so hard."
"Not really, I was just sitting and watching. You guys running around is the tiring part."
"Let’s go, I’ll take you back to the hotel first."
Chu Yin pulled Lin Zhiyi towards the dressing room.
It wasn’t her first time recording a show, but it was her first time doing one this big, and she’s so excited she couldn’t even feel tired.
She talked all the way there.
Unexpectedly, they ran into some staff from the show next door who were complaining.
"What was that? Just some people brought in to show their faces, thinking they’re a big star, always hogging the camera. The director’s face turned blue, he reminded her several times not to stand randomly."
"That’s not all, she kept shrieking, it’s just a dumb game, is it necessary? Trying to act like a silly beauty, ended up looking like an idiot."
"Ah, ah, save me, I’m so scared. Just short of asking everyone, don’t I seem like a little dummy?"
The staff laughed heartily and walked away.
Chu Yin and Lin Zhiyi exchanged a smile.
Lin Zhiyi whispered, "How many shots do you think Chu Yin will keep?"
Chu Yin said coldly, "She thinks now that she’s linked with Mr. Sang, everyone has to give her face, but she doesn’t realize that if Mr. Sang doesn’t make it public, she’s nothing. No one will care about her, not to mention, others have their own backers too."
Lin Zhiyi raised an eyebrow, about to speak, when she heard Chu Wu’s voice just in time.
She pulled Chu Yin to another path.
Chu Wu was laughing and giggling over there, except she was the only one laughing.
"Thank you all for your cooperation today."
Clearly, there were several footsteps, but everyone was obviously stunned.
Did Chu Wu really think these people were her extras?
Chu Wu seemed to sense the silence and quickly said, "I’ll remember your kindness, I’ll pass it on when I get a chance."
Just short of reminding everyone she had connections with Sang Li.
Some people ignored her, but others gave Chu Wu some face.
"Well, thank you, Wu Wu. We’re tired too, we’ll head off."
"Yeah, go ahead."
Yeah! Go ahead!
Hearing this, even Chu Yin was stunned.
Was this how you dismissed subordinates?
Chu Wu really hadn’t changed at all, even when holding an opportunity, she couldn’t keep her cool at all.
Once everyone left, Chu Yin and Lin Zhiyi started walking normally with noise again.
Lin Zhiyi said, "I think Chu Wu will be furious when she sees the episode air."
Chu Yin laughed, "Then I’ll make sure to watch it right on time."
After Chu Yin removed her makeup, Sister Meng finally showed up.
Sister Meng said, "I’ll go say hi, if there’s nothing, we can leave."
Afraid Sister Meng might cause trouble, Lin Zhiyi deliberately said, "Sister Meng, you’ve worked hard, I was just going to find my mom and uncle to give a word, no need to repeat yourself, otherwise others might find us annoying."
Sister Meng immediately said, "It’s fine, I just said a few thank yous."
Lin Zhiyi confirmed Sister Meng didn’t cause any trouble and nodded.
Chu Yin stood up, "Sister Meng, you should rest too, I’ll take Zhiyi back to the hotel."
Sister Meng didn’t refuse, packed up, and left.
Chu Yin didn’t take the car arranged by Sister Meng, but got into Chen Jin’s car instead.
As soon as she got in, Chu Yin noticed a peace charm hanging from Chen Jin’s rearview mirror.
Chu Yin teased, "This peace charm looks familiar."
Lin Zhiyi laughed, "I didn’t see it yesterday, did you buy it today?"
Chen Jin glanced at the two of them and knew they were teasing him again.
He directly said, "It was a gift from someone."
"Oh~ who?" Chu Yin asked.
"Who else? Good buddy Zhou Zhao," Lin Zhiyi answered.
"You two are so close, like two peas in a pod, we’re all envious," Chu Yin said.
Chen Jin looked at his watch, at work, he couldn’t talk back to his boss, but after hours, he could.
"You two can wear a skirt together too."
"Hahaha, Assistant Chen actually tells cold jokes," Chu Yin laughed.
And so they laughed all the way to the hotel.
After Lin Zhiyi got out of the car, she reminded, "Assistant Chen, make sure to send Chu Yin back safely."
"Don’t worry."
Chen Jin drove Chu Yin home.
...
Hotel.
Chu Yin dragged her tired body back to the room.
When she opened the door, she found someone inside.
She was about to scream when she saw the person sitting was Sang Li.
"You’re back?"
"Mr. Sang? How come you’re here? It’s so late." Chu Yin was worried he’d lack rest.
"It’s nothing, I was just passing by."
"Passing by?" Chu Yin snickered, "Can’t you just tell the truth?"
"Alright." Sang Li responded, "I was worried you hadn’t eaten, so I had the maid prepare some easy-to-digest food and send it over."
Following his words, Chu Yin looked at the dining table and found many thermal boxes on it.
"Thank you."
She sat at the table and opened the boxes.
Seeing the dishes inside, her brow furrowed slightly for a moment.
Sang Li got up and walked over, "What’s wrong?"
Chu Yin cautiously asked, "Was the maid forced to cook at midnight? She seems a bit unhappy?"
Why is some of the food burnt?
Sang Li’s expression became unnatural, "If you don’t like it, don’t force yourself. I can ask the hotel to send something over."
"No need, the maid worked hard to make it, let’s not waste it."
Chu Yin started eating, she took a bite and felt as if her throat was glued up with sugar.
Did the maid have a grudge against Sang Li?
She didn’t dare say anything and kept eating with difficulty.
Suddenly, she noticed Sang Li looking at her with a strange expression.
In an instant, a thought came to Chu Yin.
She stared at Sang Li and asked, "Mr. Sang, did you make these dishes?"
