Chapter 1056: Chapter 1056: Bad Public Image

Chu Wu looked at the figure opposite her, somewhat perplexed.

She didn’t know this woman at all; why was she helping her?

Chu Wu let out a wary laugh: "I’m not stupid. Are you holding these things to help me or to threaten me?"

The woman spoke frankly: "Both. Of course I’m helping you for something I want. I just can’t stand your sister being so popular. I want to drag her down into the dirt, is that wrong?"

Chu Wu watched the woman’s swaying figure, thought for a moment, then feigned a clever smile.

"So it’s jealousy."

Jealousy is good.

A woman’s jealousy can destroy everything.

Without thinking, Chu Wu said: "Alright, I agree with you."

Hearing the satisfactory answer, the woman couldn’t be bothered to explain anything.

Someone beside her handed over a business card.

"Go find this person, she will help you arrange everything."

Chu Wu glanced at the business card, her eyes showing shock.

It turned out to be the renowned entertainment company in Hai City, Xiao Yun Entertainment.

Her reputation had been ruined to the point she dared not approach big companies anymore, initially planning to wait for things to cool down and start out with a medium-sized company.

Unexpectedly, she encountered a benefactor.

She looked up: "Don’t worry, I’ve long been displeased with Chu Yin. I will certainly help you, but... even if I join a good company, without resources, I still can’t compare to Chu Yin."

The woman glanced at Chu Wu, truly knowing how to push for more.

However, looking at Chu Wu’s face, she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow; whether in the past or now, Chu Wu’s face and Chu Yin’s were equally impeccable.

Moreover, having practiced dancing before, her figure was beautiful.

It’s no wonder she could fool so many men. If she weren’t so arrogant, Chu Yin wouldn’t be where she is today.

It’s better this way, making control easier.

The woman gave her a cold look before disappearing into the darkness.

The restraint on Chu Wu’s body also vanished; she held the business card in her hands, then turned to face the full-length mirror.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she revealed a satisfied smile. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Chu Yin, everything you took, I will take back."

...

The next day, early in the morning, Chu Yin arrived at the hotel where Lin Zhiyi was staying.

Today, Chu Yin would be meeting with Sister Meng, and having Lin Zhiyi there would make it more convincing.

To support Chu Yin, Lin Zhiyi dressed up a bit.

Yet Chu Yin felt somewhat nervous.

"Do I look alright now? I’m afraid Sister Meng will see through me."

"Don’t be too nervous. Remember, you’re essentially playing along with me; making small mistakes is quite normal," Lin Zhiyi reassured.

Only then did Chu Yin relax.

Lin Zhiyi continued: "If you expose some issues now, it might actually be advantageous for us."

Chu Yin didn’t understand.

Lin Zhiyi explained: "Qi Rong is already preparing; the big battle is about to start. If you’re too cautious, Sister Meng will be too. But if you act as you did before, Sister Meng might lower her guard, and when Qi Rong makes her comeback, won’t she be caught off guard?"

"Makes sense."

The two chatted and laughed as they headed to the hotel designated by Sister Meng.

Unexpectedly, fans had arrived first, and Chu Yin was stunned for a moment, not reacting.

She had never been popular before and didn’t have many fans; suddenly seeing so many people, she thought they might be fans of another celebrity.

Not until fans came to her did she realize these were her own fans.

Lin Zhiyi nudged her, then tactfully stood by, waiting.

Chu Yin posed for photos and signed autographs.

Lin Zhiyi looked at her with satisfaction, suddenly feeling like there was a gaze fixed on them.

She turned around to look, but apart from guests and coworkers, there was no suspicious person.

Could it be that she had been too nervous lately?

A few minutes later, Sister Meng arrived and led people to ward off the fans.

Her expression looked particularly unfriendly.

Sometimes, fans might guess a celebrity’s attitude towards them based on their staff’s behavior.

If handled poorly, it could easily damage public goodwill.

Sister Meng abruptly pushed past the fans with her entourage, impatiently shouting for them to move aside.

A fan who was about to give Chu Yin a gift stumbled to the ground.

Lin Zhiyi glanced over; the fan was only about sixteen or seventeen, young and flustered by the sudden situation.

Surrounded by others, Chu Yin was unaware of what happened.

Taking the opportunity, Sister Meng glanced coldly at the girl on the ground, not apologizing, and crossed over her in a humiliating fashion.

The girl’s cheeks reddened immediately, her eyes welling up.

Then, Sister Meng stepped forward to drag Chu Yin away.

Seeing this, Lin Zhiyi quickly rushed forward, shouting loudly.

"Someone has fallen."

It wasn’t just Chu Yin; even others in the lobby heard clearly.

Chu Yin immediately stopped, freed herself from Sister Meng’s grasp, and briskly walked to the girl’s side, crouching down.

"Are you alright? Try not to move yet; check where it’s hurting. If you’ve injured a bone, moving might worsen it."

Lin Zhiyi chimed in: "I saw her being pushed aside; it must hurt."

After she finished, she gave Chu Yin a look.

Chu Yin instantly understood.

She promptly half-kneeled on the ground to examine the girl’s body.

The girl was initially upset, but seeing her idol treating her so carefully was visibly moved.

"I’m alright."

Chu Yin nodded, gently helping her up, noticing the gift that had fallen nearby; she picked it up.

"Is this for me?"

"Yes."

"Thank you." Chu Yin smiled.

The girl nodded joyfully.

Chu Yin then comforted her: "You all should head home early, thank you for coming to see me."

Waving goodbye to the fans, Chu Yin finally walked toward the elevator.

With no one around, she turned to Sister Meng.

"What’s going on? Someone fell, why didn’t you tell me?"

"These are trivial matters; others will handle it." Sister Meng replied calmly.

Just as Chu Yin was about to react, Lin Zhiyi lightly held her hand.

"Ah Yin, Sister Meng is right. Her experience is richer than yours; she’ll certainly deal with incidents well. Surely she didn’t see it. Couldn’t possibly turn a blind eye, right? That would be so cold-blooded. Isn’t that right, Sister Meng?"

Sister Meng’s expression changed, smiling awkwardly.

"Yes, I didn’t notice. I’ll be careful in the future."

Chu Yin replied: "Sister Meng, I trust your work."

Sister Meng dared not say anything.

Once inside the room, Chu Yin shifted the topic.

"Sister Meng, can you tell me the schedule for the next two days, so I have an idea?"

Sister Meng handed over the materials to Chu Yin.

"There’s shooting in the afternoon, a fan meeting tomorrow, and a variety show to film afterward."

Chu Yin went through the materials and found nothing special.

She glanced at Lin Zhiyi.

Lin Zhiyi moved closer, scanning briefly, feigning surprise: "Ah Yin, you’ve made it. You’re now dominating the page."

Of course, she knew this wasn’t possible; with Chu Yin’s current status, it was unlikely she could have an independent page in such a famous magazine.

They should be doing a joint shoot.

But why not clarify?

There was evidently something fishy.

Chu Yin followed Lin Zhiyi’s words and looked at Sister Meng: "Didn’t think I’d get such nice treatment?"

Sister Meng pursed her lips: "That’s not it; perhaps someone missed it, it’s a joint shoot."
