Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes-Chapter 416: Do You Really Hate Me That Much?
Julius Shaw moved Nancy Allen to Godfery Shaw’s room.
In Godfery Shaw’s room, everything was familiar to Nancy Allen, familiar enough to make her feel at ease, yet also make her feel sad.
Sad enough that she wished to quickly go back to the beginning, quickly bring Godfery Shaw back, Nancy Allen said to Julius Shaw, "Godfery, you should go to the company tomorrow."
Julius Shaw slightly frowned, "Why?"
"Because there are many things at the company that still require your handling. We can’t always let Basil Smith keep busy for you, can we?"
Because she wanted Julius Shaw to do the things Godfery Shaw would do, to live like Godfery Shaw.
After all, it’s the same person, changing a lifestyle, changing a mindset, he could quickly become Godfery Shaw, right?
Julius Shaw just deeply looked at Nancy Allen and asked, "If I go to the company, will you be happy?"
Meeting Julius Shaw’s gaze, Nancy Allen inexplicably felt somewhat guilty and unnaturally shifted her gaze.
She softly said, "I hope you go to the company, don’t delay important matters any longer. If you really don’t want to go, then never mind."
At this moment, Julius Shaw responded, "I will go to the company tomorrow."
Looking at the obedient Julius Shaw, Nancy Allen paused, wanting to say something, but ultimately remained silent.
For a moment, she felt that her disguise wasn’t all that good, that Julius Shaw might have noticed she had recovered, then she thought again that with Julius Shaw being obedient, he probably hadn’t noticed anything.
The two of them lay on the large spliced bed; Nancy Allen thought for a moment and then moved closer, reaching out to hold Julius Shaw’s hand, "Sleep."
Between them lay a distance both intimate and distant.
The intimacy was meant for Godfery Shaw.
The distance was meant for Julius Shaw.
After Nancy Allen fell asleep, Julius Shaw cautiously moved a little closer.
He initially thought Nancy Allen had returned just to seek a stand-in, and he wouldn’t mind being his brother’s stand-in.
But now it seems, Nancy Allen perhaps wanted more than a stand-in; she wanted to transform him into her brother, she wanted her brother to return.
And what about him?
Julius Shaw’s expression was slightly aggrieved, he softly murmured, "Let me pretend to be my brother, always staying by your side, wouldn’t that be fine? Do you really despise me that much?"
Asleep, Nancy Allen couldn’t hear these whispers, but feeling the familiar aura beside her, unconsciously moved a little closer.
The next day.
When Julius Shaw said he was going to the company, it stunned Basil Smith.
Why is the second young master going to the company?
With the second young master’s temper, is he planning to cause havoc at the company?
Julius Shaw put on the attire Godfery Shaw was accustomed to; Nancy Allen picked out a tie and personally tied it for Julius Shaw, smiling at him.
Julius Shaw felt that just for that smile, it was enough to make him go without hesitation.
After Julius Shaw left, the entire Imperial Garden seemed to quiet down, the atmosphere relaxed.
Nancy Allen wasn’t very serene, worried that Julius Shaw might lose control at the company with Basil Smith, causing some trouble, so she planned to sneak a look.
Moreover, she thought she should visit her greenhouse; it was almost forgotten by her.
As soon as Nancy Allen prepared to go out, five female bodyguards, led by Luna Summer, came up to follow her.
Nancy Allen said with a mix of amusement and annoyance, "You don’t need to follow me."
Luna Summer shook her head and, as a representative, said, "Our task is to ensure the Young Madam’s safety."
Nancy Allen saw their resolute attitude and compromised, "Then let Luna Summer follow me, others stay at the Imperial Garden."
Going out with a group of bodyguards trailing her, what would that look like?
Eventually, Luna Summer and Nancy Allen went out together.
Nancy Allen didn’t head straight for the company; she first went to the greenhouse.
Upon arriving at the greenhouse, Nancy Allen found no one; the young girl she employed to watch the shop wasn’t there.
The greenhouse, however, was tidied up meticulously, all the flowers appeared fresh.
Nancy Allen took out her phone, just about to dial a number.
The landlord Frank came in carrying a trash bin, clearly having been cleaning the greenhouse, and just went out to dispose of garbage.
Frank saw Nancy Allen, hurriedly came over and asked, "Nancy Allen, you’re here, long time no see. Why haven’t you been coming lately?"
Luna Summer instinctively blocked Frank from coming too close, nobody should be allowed too near.
Nancy Allen told Luna Summer not to block him; she had a good impression of Frank and smilingly said, "I’ve had too many things going on recently, haven’t had the time to come over. Once I’m less busy, I’ll probably come to the shop often, hmm, to sleep."
Frank’s eyes sparkled, "Nancy Allen, you can talk now!"
Nancy Allen nodded, "I had an injury to my throat previously, it was in recovery period, now I can talk normally. Didn’t I tell you to focus on your studies and not come help? I hired a young girl to watch the shop, why are you still running into the shop?"
Frank hesitated, then finally said, "I’m not that busy anyway, so I come by when I’m free."
Nancy Allen was perceptive, and seeing the look in Frank’s eyes knew something was up. She directly asked, "Did something happen?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Nothing much really."
"Is it related to Alva King?"
Nancy Allen had hired that girl named Alva King for the shop. She was the daughter of the uncle who sold fish at the market next door, usually helping out at the market selling fish.
Alva King had mentioned she wanted to re-study and retake the college entrance exam, but her family didn’t allow it, saying she couldn’t idle without income and should sell fish. She wanted to find a job that had income, a low salary was fine, as long as it allowed her to read.
Nancy Allen thought that since it’s only about looking after the shop, reading wouldn’t interfere, so she agreed to let Alva King watch the shop, wanting to lend a hand.
Frank’s expression showed discomfort, seemingly unaccustomed to talking behind someone’s back.
However, since Nancy Allen asked, he still said, "If possible, Nancy Allen, change the person looking after the shop. When I came previously, the flowers in the greenhouse all rotted without timely replacement, and she was often not in the shop."
Nancy Allen was quite surprised; for a girl striving to earn tuition to re-study, who had been so grateful and thanked her for providing a job, she hadn’t done it properly?
She paid her salary monthly, though she paid late by a few days due to a mental breakdown previously, Alva King had even messaged her reminding her to send the salary.
Took the salary but didn’t do the job properly?
Just then, Alva King came over, dressed fashionably and brightly, smiling as she approached from not far away.
"Owner, you’ve come over, long time no see." Alva King greeted with a smile.
If it weren’t for her greeting, Nancy Allen would almost not have recognized her, as she no longer resembled her initial simple and low-profile self.
Nancy Allen didn’t mind young girls dressing up nicely, but from a glance, she could sense something amiss.
Within just a few months, this young girl seemed not to be the same as the one eager to re-study.
Nancy Allen asked with an indifferent expression, "Why aren’t you in the shop?"
Alva King explained cheerfully, "My father had something for me to attend to on his side, so I went over, I only stepped away for about ten minutes."
Nancy Allen’s tone turned cold, "Since you’re too busy, I will settle your wages; you should find another job."
Alva King was completely baffled, failing to comprehend.
She widened her eyes and said, "Owner, I just made a small mistake, isn’t dismissing me a bit too much?"
