Chapter 402: Chapter 402: Just Endure It

It’s Marsh Smith.

Why do I encounter Marsh Smith every time I come to the hospital?

Even though the revenge for past humiliations has been exacted and I should be relieved.

But a person you detest remains detestable no matter how much time passes without seeing them.

The last time we met was at her flower shop, where Marsh Smith begged for forgiveness, and she thanked him for once comforting Godfery Shaw. However, due to Marsh Smith’s pulling, she ended up stabbing him.

Forgive?

How could she possibly forgive?

Detestable, always detestable.

Marsh Smith was clearly delighted to see Nancy Allen, striding over with a look of surprise at the encounter, saying, "Nancy, what brings you here? What a coincidence."

Just as he spoke, Marsh Smith recalled Nancy’s traumatic reactions to hospitals.

Back when he was acting impulsively, he tried to take advantage of Nancy, who was too tormented by her reactions to fight back. He immediately worried, "What are you doing at the hospital? Hurry, get out, something bad might happen."

As Marsh Smith spoke, he reached out to grab Nancy.

All he saw was Nancy, completely ignoring the presence of the imposing Julius Shaw.

Julius Shaw, with Nancy in his arms, took a step back and directly kicked Marsh Smith.

Marsh Smith stumbled from the kick, only then coming to his senses.

He thought it was Godfery Shaw holding Nancy, and was prepared to back off in self-mockery, but realized he was mistaken.

That Godfery Shaw would never hide the fact that Nancy was his, when had he ever worn a mask?

This masked man he remembered from the auction at the Jade and Gold Pavilion, where he had seen him attending with Nancy in a wheelchair.

This is Young Master Shaw!

He couldn’t interfere with whatever was between Nancy and Godfery Shaw, but what about this Young Master Shaw?

As far as he knew, Nancy had originally married Godfery Shaw.

He wasn’t sure if they divorced, but regardless, this Young Master Shaw had no right to hold Nancy so openly.

Furious, Marsh Smith shouted, "Julius Shaw! Let her go, you’re taking advantage of her being unwell at the hospital, aren’t you?"

Julius Shaw, already suppressing his anger for Nancy’s sake, was further provoked when Marsh Smith blocked his path.

Marsh Smith continued to shout, "What do you think you’re doing, Julius Shaw? Nancy is your brother’s woman. Show some respect and let her go. I’ll take her home."

Julius Shaw put Nancy down.

Marsh Smith thought Julius Shaw was heeding his advice when Nancy inwardly realized things weren’t right.

With one arm, Julius Shaw embraced Nancy, and the other suddenly reached out to grip Marsh Smith’s throat, his gaze fierce and dangerous like a wolf king in a fray.

Marsh Smith was caught off guard, veins bulging on his head as he struggled to break free.

He continuously tried to push Julius Shaw away, struggling to cry out, "Julius, what are you doing? Let me go!"

The only response to Marsh Smith was Julius Shaw’s tightening grip.

Julius Shaw was inherently filled with malice, violent and dangerous. He restrained himself for Nancy, tried to hold it in for his brother’s help, but being provoked by Marsh Smith tore open a crack in his malice, making him want to strangle Marsh Smith.

Marsh Smith was turning blue, his eyes wide, unable to speak.

In that moment, Nancy Allen once again realized Julius Shaw’s danger.

In this world, if something goes against Julius Shaw’s wishes, he will resolve it in the most ruthless way.

Regardless if it’s Marsh Smith or her on the receiving end.

She shouldn’t hesitate after hearing about Julius Shaw’s past and experiences. Once decided, she should follow through.

Seeing more and more people gathering, she knew if Julius Shaw continued like this, something serious would happen.

Nancy gently tugged on Julius Shaw’s arm, softly saying, "Stop it, let go."

Julius Shaw didn’t move, resistant to any persuasion, thinking about nothing but retaliating in the most violent way against those harboring malice toward him.

This reminded Nancy of when she initially refused to eat days ago, and Julius Shaw had Sophie Allen fall off a horse. Her pleas were ineffective; so were her prayers, because this man in front of her had a heart as hard as iron.

But Nancy couldn’t allow Julius Shaw to make a scene at the hospital.

She suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist, leaning gently against him, and softly said as if playfully, "I feel unwell and can’t walk, take me home."

As expected, Julius Shaw let go of Marsh Smith.

Overwhelmed, Marsh Smith fell to the ground, beside himself with fright.

Julius Shaw picked Nancy up, his attitude towards her now completely different from his earlier ferocity, saying, "It’s alright, I’ll take you home now."

Nancy lay in Julius Shaw’s arms, with a hint of self-loathing in her cold eyes.

See, she knew how to handle Julius Shaw.

Be obedient, pretend to rely on him, show him affection; it’s all too easy.

Julius Shaw quickly left the hospital with Nancy.

Once they were out of the hospital, Nancy felt slightly better and gently pushed Julius Shaw, motioning for him to put her down.

Julius Shaw looked down at Nancy, his gaze still carrying earlier anger, breaking his restraint, asking in a hoarse voice, "Nancy, do you really want to push me away?"

Nancy panicked internally; at that moment, she felt as if Julius Shaw had sensed something.

Julius Shaw’s gaze made her feel uneasy, as if anything could happen if she dared to push him further.

Nancy’s hand, initially pushing Julius Shaw away, instinctively shifted to grasp him, wary of gambling with his temper, not daring to provoke him any further.

She clung to Julius Shaw’s shirt, silently leaning into his embrace, her lips pressed tight.

Julius Shaw looked at the shirt Nancy clutched, feeling as if she had grabbed him, and the violence within him gradually subsided.

Nancy dared not let Julius Shaw release her, allowing him to carry her into the car, sticking close obediently like a compliant cat.

Just endure it a little longer. These days shrouded in threatening terror won’t last forever. In just a few days, she’ll leave...

...

After Julius Shaw and Nancy left, Marsh Smith snapped back to reality and began cursing loudly at the empty hospital entrance.

"What Young Master Shaw of the Shaw family, just a pervert, entangled with his own sister-in-law, shameless and disgusting!"

"Did you all see that? That was the so-called secluded Young Master Shaw, openly forcing himself on his sister-in-law."

"Just because he’s Godfery Shaw’s brother, he thinks he can do whatever he wants. So many people witnessed it today; if Godfery Shaw is still a man, he should stand up for Nancy and deal with Julius Shaw!"

In public, Marsh Smith raised his voice, convinced Nancy was being coerced by Julius Shaw.

After all, Nancy had clearly expressed before that she liked Godfery Shaw.

Marsh Smith dared not confront Godfery Shaw, resorting instead to shouting, hoping that public opinion would force Julius Shaw to back off from Nancy.
