Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path-Chapter 860: Two Fools
"Chief, we’re almost there." The squad leader driving glanced at the rearview mirror and said to Yang Yunhai, who was resting with his eyes closed.
"Mm." Yang Yunhai rubbed his temples before opening his eyes.
As soon as the car stopped, Yang Yunhai jumped out and headed straight into the command center.
"Newly appointed Special Team Captain Yang Yunhai reporting in," he said, saluting respectfully as he entered. Su Ende, who was studying the map intently, looked up and glanced at him, "Come and take a look."
Yang Yunhai saluted and walked over, lowering his head to study the map with him.
"I need you to lead your team in from here; do you have the confidence?" After a long while, Su Ende threw away the pen in his hand and asked him.
"I’ll ensure the mission is completed." Yang Yunhai saluted and said solemnly.
"Good job." Su Ende smiled, walked over, and gave him a punch, "You’re just the same as before."
Always with a stone-cold face, even colder than his own.
"It’s because of your excellent teaching, Chief." Yang Yunhai said calmly.
Su Ende, "..."
This kid is now playing word games with him too.
Meanwhile, Mr. Su also just got out of the car, with Su Ziqiao following behind enthusiastically, holding a pile of stuff in his hands.
The old man said, there’s no such thing as too many gifts.
He knocked on the door and soon heard a man’s voice; upon opening the door and seeing Su Ziqiao, Yao Jingsong said happily, "Brother Ziqiao, you’re here. Who is this?"
"This is my grandfather," Su Ziqiao introduced.
"Hello," Yao Jingsong greeted.
Su Ziqiao glanced at the two of them. His grandfather had been injured in the past, with half of his face almost deformed from the pressure; it took several surgeries to fix it.
But his appearance had changed significantly from before, and if one wasn’t very familiar with him, they likely wouldn’t recognize him.
However, just now, Su Ziqiao suddenly felt that when Yao Jingsong smiled, he looked somewhat like his grandfather when he was young.
He must be seeing things.
"And who are you?" While Su Ziqiao was daydreaming, his grandfather had already started asking Yao Jingsong questions.
"I’m a fraternal twin with my sister. She was born a few minutes before me, and I took my grandfather’s surname, Yao Jingsong." For some reason, Yao Jingsong felt a sense of warmth towards Mr. Su, so he answered the questions in as much detail as he could.
"Twins, huh." He smiled and said, "I had a twin sister back in the day too."
Sadly, we were poor back then, and she didn’t survive long after birth.
"By the way, where’s your sister?" Mr. Su asked.
"She went to Sister Lianlian’s house; she’ll be back soon. If you’re in a hurry, I can call her over now," Yao Jingsong said.
"No need, we’ll wait for her here at home." Mr. Su said affectionately, then continued asking Yao Jingsong many questions about himself and grew more satisfied with him by the moment.
Su Ziqiao, "..."
Why does it feel like something’s off with the way his grandfather is looking?
Why does it look like he’s looking at his own grandson?
Mr. Su, "..."
Su Ziqiao is a simpleton, that’s for sure.
Simpleton Su Ziqiao, "Hao Lianlian has come back too?"
"Yeah, she finished her exams," Yao Jingsong said admiringly. "She even got a scholarship. Sister Lianlian is amazing; I want to marry someone like that one day."
"You can’t handle someone like that," Su Ziqiao shot him a glance, inexplicably reminded of that moment of softness.
Staring blankly at his hand, his forehead suddenly got smacked from behind, and he saw his grandfather looking at him with disdain, "Hurry up and carry those things over."
Su Ziqiao, "..."
So, he must have been adopted, right?
