Chapter 786: Chapter 723: Worries_2

"Ah, what did he come to your shop for? To show off?"

"Hmph, bringing his current fiancée to my shop can’t be for anything good. Guess what he did?"

"What? Did he mock you, or did his fiancée mock you?"

"That fiancée of his talked in circles, saying some nasty things. He just stood by without speaking, watching her mock me. But his fiancée isn’t too bright. After mocking me, she even wanted to buy a dress from my shop. She can dream on. When has Wang Leqin ever been easy to bully? I immediately told them off."

"You told them off, and that’s that. People like them aren’t worth the trouble. Why are you upset?"

Wang Leqin looked at Lin Wan with tears in her eyes and suddenly said, "Xiao Wan, do you think Gao Ran regrets divorcing me and purposely brought his fiancée to provoke me?"

Lin Wan raised an eyebrow, "Did he provoke you then?"

Wang Leqin suddenly crossed her arms and said, "No way. A good horse doesn’t go backward. You know how happy I’ve been since divorcing him. I finally got out of that pit; I don’t want to jump back in."

"It’s not that serious. Gao Ran is pretty good, just a bit rigid in some areas. You two truly weren’t compatible in personality. Breaking up is breaking up; it was hardly a pit."

"Lin Wan, are you here to enlighten me or side with Gao Ran?"

"Even though my husband and Gao Ran are buddies, aren’t we good friends too? By relation, of course, I’m on your side."

"That’s more like it."

"But your analysis isn’t necessarily accurate. He might have just wanted to choose a dress from your shop, though it may have been awkward. From what I know about Gao Ran, he doesn’t seem like someone who would damage his own image like that—it’s probably his new fiancée’s doing."

"I’m just guessing, but seeing them swaggering in front of me made me feel bad."

Lin Wan patted her, silently comforting her, and thought to herself that anyone would feel upset if their ex-husband brought his current fiancée to boast in their shop.

She really couldn’t intervene much in their emotional issues; they have to figure it out themselves, just like she did, which took her a lifetime to understand.

Originally, Wang Leqin would have been sad for a while, but who knew a city tycoon would come the next day needing a dress made.

With business coming in, Wang Leqin immediately cast Gao Ran and his fiancée aside, busying herself with designing a dress for the tycoon.

The wedding is in over a month; time is tight. She needs to present a satisfactory design within three days.

Wang Leqin, afraid her design wouldn’t pass, squeezed out Lin Wan’s lunch break to help her with references.

"Sister Xiao Wan, I probably won’t be able to help you tomorrow."

"Alright, you handle your affairs. I’ll take Little Star to my aunt’s house another day. You’ve worked hard recently."

"Sister Xiao Wan, don’t be so polite. I don’t have much going on anyway. But, my friend is coming over to my place tomorrow, so I have to go home," Peng Le said, suddenly looking shy, as if embarrassed.

Lin Wan instantly understood and quickly laughed, "Boyfriend?"

Peng Le blushed and nodded with a generous smile, "Uh-huh..."

Lin Wan exclaimed and laughed, "When did this happen? How come I never heard you mention it?"

"It’s been a year now. My mom just found out recently. We think things are going well and originally wanted to meet each other’s parents."

"Where’s he from, how old is he, what does he do?"

"He’s twenty-six, from H City, and has been working here in a government department for years."

"From H City, huh? I used to go there a lot; I have relatives there," Lin Wan said with a smile, looking at Peng Le in her sporty outfit, shaking her head disapprovingly. She took her towards the women’s department, "You can’t dress like that to meet the parents. Come, let me help you pick out a couple of outfits." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"Sister Xiao Wan, that’s not necessary. I’m fine like this."

"Listen to me; girls need to be a bit more refined."

Peng Le isn’t bad looking, with a baby face and dimples when she smiles, very cute. Though her figure is good, she likes wearing baggy clothes.

Lin Wan selected a pair of black velvet pants, a red down jacket, and also picked out a pale blue short jacket with a pair of light purple corduroy pants, giving off a particularly youthful vibe.
