Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 567: Where is Ruth?
The information was a lot to dump on them within a few minutes, everyone was stunned by everything from the rebirth to knowing that they all died in the past life and finally, Ruth's return. The information danced above their heads, and they processed it slowly like old computers familiarizing themselves with new technology.
Andre was the one that finally broke the silence. "Let me get this straight. you married David, you were part of the founding society and yet we never recognized you and you never recognized us! How is that possible?"
"One, Ruth convinced me to do some plastic surgery which altered my features."
"Her nose and eyes." Andre clarified.
"For so long, my hair was dyed blonde, and it was never revealed that the Gabriel's were not my parents." Phoebe added.
David further pitched in, "Let's not forget the fact that Ruth never allowed her near any of you. She never invited Phoebe to a single Mayfair event and even when the opportunities were presented, like balls and other founding society parties, Ruth would convince my mother not to let Phoebe attend."
Phoebe nodded slowly.
Old lady Mayfair felt as if she had swallowed bitter medicine. There was nothing she hated more than hearing Ruth's name. It was right up there with demons.
"That sly bitch." Jennie clenched her hands.
She was not the only one with clenched hands, Collin was also doing the very same thing. He did not want to dwell on the past; he wanted to discuss the present. "If Ruth is at the tower, then shouldn't we just tell grandpa Rufus so that he can throw her in one of those prisons in the academy or have her end up the way Dickson did? We all know that he knows how Dickson died and who was involved. It is dangerous that Ruth is out there, walking around free. Who knows what that crazy bitch will do?" Collin was the most traumatized to hear the news after what Ruth had done to him.
David shook his head. "Grandpa has too many things that he is dealing with. I am handling it, I want to take her in alive, then I will torture her until she reveals who her accomplices are and get rid of her permanently. I have prepared a magical prison of my own that she will not be able to escape during questioning.
I know some of us want her killed immediately upon capture, but I don't agree, she is deeply involved with the people that killed all of us in the past life. We should find out who the enemies hiding amongst us are before disposing of her." His words pleased them more than shocked them.
"My IT person did a thorough background check on the list of employees that Edgar gave to me but there was nothing there. Everyone seems to check out which is puzzling because Phoebe was certain that she was at the tower." His voice was edged with frustration.
"I am glad that she is back, this time I get to personally wring her neck when you are done with the questioning." Luna's words came out without thinking, although no one disagreed.
Rekha winced inwardly. "What if, just what if maybe she came as a guest at the tower? You could be searching in the wrong places. If she is involved with demons, she might even be disguised as a Saxon." She suggested smoothly.
Snapping his fingers, David sent a message to Edgar to send him information on the guests that were at the tower yesterday in the morning. "I suspect that perhaps she came in as a delivery person or something else, I need to re-watch the CCTV footage. As for being a Saxon, I will tell grandpa to do a bloodline search and trace where all the living Saxon's are." He murmured; the glow of his screen lit his face as he typed.
Maureen narrowed her eyes which had a faraway look. "On the subject of people at the tower that are suspicious, on the night we had dinner, I clearly heard Margaret say that suspicious Bradley had a daughter. She wanted Bradley and his daughter to stay in the tower as guests. I recall something about her being sick or tired so she couldn't join the rest of us for dinner."
Jennie gaped, blinking like an owl in day light. "Bradley Taylor as in Margaret's Brad?" She asked, trying to comprehend what she was hearing. "I did not know he had a daughter. Was she here at the wedding? I specifically invited him such that I can see this fine man that everyone was praising but I do not remember seeing him with a daughter." She cocked her head to the right looking at her husband.
Letting out a hearty laugh, grandma Mayfair put her phone away. "Maureen you cannot be suggesting that a young man like that has a daughter who could be Ruth. The ages don't match up; he is in his what..twenties or early thirties! He would have to have been a child when he had her, besides the servants especially that blabbermouth Catalina would have said something if they had seen Ruth." She corrected the absurd narrative.
"When you mention the age then it is puzzling indeed." Phoebe muttered, planning to check on the bug once again.
Rekha thought they were all wrong and she said, "It could be an adopted daughter, I have seen twenty-two-year-olds in relationships with older women who have daughters the same age as their sugar babies. Go down to Wessen Country club and you will find them in plenty."
David gently patted Phoebe's shoulder. "I will find her; it's just a matter of time." His voice was not assuring anyone.
"Time that we do not have! She has people backing her, those that are involved in the supernatural world." Maureen tugged her front hair.
Jennie clapped once her face lighting up. "I was at the gallery the other day with Lacy, and she mentioned that she seen Ophelia at the Muni beauty bar. I laughed because Ophelia could never be at a place of that caliber, she was thrown out of the city by David. But now that Ruth could be back...." her words trailed off into silence.
"Mother when was this?" Collin asked, clenching his fists.
Shrugging, Jennie blinked rapidly. "I do not know, I think two weeks ago. I do not remember. I brushed it off because I thought it was impossible for her to crawl back into this city ever again." She stated.
"Do you not get it mother! Ophelia could be knowing exactly where Ruth is. If you had told us sooner at least we would have been on the lookout." Luke's voice came off as condemning.
Clapping once, David let out a cunning laugh. "This is good mother, better late than never! We find Ophelia, we find Ruth." He turned his eyes to Phoebe "Babe keep checking on that bug, I will get to work immediately." He kissed the top of her head and run out of the study.
