Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 89: The powerful body
In the hidden zones of the ancient caves, a few hooded figures stood around the broken rock in the middle as they settled the globe around it.
"I didn’t know her body could counter such toxins," one hooded figure said as they moved their hand over the globe.
Their leader didn’t say anything, just stood there and looked at the globe. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Her body didn’t just counter the toxin," one of the hooded figures of upper-level magna whispered before moving her hand in the air, and a translucent sheet appeared.
It looked like a high-technology screen, but it was just her powers.
"Not only did it counter the toxins, it modified into something that would never allow it to realise what she took. Rather, it’s her body’s way to get closer to her man. You know what will happen when she mates with either of them, right?" The hooded person asked.
Their leader, silent since earlier, stood from her place and walked to the globe.
She placed her hand on the rock that had been broken for as long as they could remember.
However, for the first time, it changed. It healed a little. A little crack, just a millimeter size, got back together, and it was more than enough for them to know that things were going according to plan.
Amelia was on her way to realizing how important and holy her body was, which would unlock the greatest mage’s powers.
"It was a little too careless of her. She knew the drinks might contain poison. Yet she drank them. She doesn’t value the life that she got," the other hooded person said.
The leader shook her head. She waved her hand, and another screen appeared.
In that screen, Amelia could be seen eating a pill. A pill that was sent to her by Kyle through a waiter. The leader had asked Kyle to give that pill to Amelia so she could counter the drug.
"If that’s the case, how can we be sure that it wasn’t the pill that affected the poison and was her body?" The same person asked again.
"That’s because the antidote pill was fake. It was a regular mint pill coated with a sugar layer. I wanted to see if she had that kind of power in her body," The leader answered.
Everyone nodded simultaneously, looking at the globe where the girl could be seen.
After her little dance with King Cyrus, Amelia passed out due to the effects of the toxins. With Fabian’s help, she was sent to one of the guest rooms, where she slept like a baby.
Grayson announced the King trials, which would happen in one month, and the candidacies of Cyrus, Patrick, and Cassius.
If it had been any other time, King Cyrus would’ve been angry at one more name in the candidature, but now that his wife occupied his mind.
As he sat with his grandfather and the council members discussing the increasingly mysterious activities at the dockyard near the estates, Fabian’s mind told him they had found something.
It was vague, but it could be something that could be used to further their investigation.
"Can we check every glass and see which one Amelia used? I want to see what kind of drug she was given," Cyrus asked through the mind link, and Fabian looked at the forensic team.
Usually, Cyrus wouldn’t have wasted his time in this kind of meeting, but he knew that if he stayed here, Dominic and Patrick would, too, along with Thames and his daughter. Everyone was under suspicion.
And while they stayed here, his team would work in silence.
"Sir, we found a dead body under the stairs," Gregory’s mind linked Cyrus and the man’s fingers that were drumming against the armrest paused.
"Investigate it silently," He replied, his gaze meeting Dominic, who was already looking at him.
He then shifted his gaze to Patrick.
It wasn’t a mistake. He was sure he had heard Patrick whisper that Amelia had been drugged, and that was the reason he lifted her to take her out.
He probably wanted to help, but while it was strange, he couldn’t rule out the possibility that he knew it was his father who had drugged Amelia.
The doctor checked Amelia and didn’t find anything wrong with her.
She was just sleeping.
She had been acting drunk, but there was no way Dominic just gave her a little tranquilizer or something to make her drunk and hot.
And Hannah? According to the CCTV footage that Fabian checked, Hannah had given Amelia a drink right before Dominic, and he couldn’t ignore the similarity in their expressions when they were looking at Amelia.
"Sir..." Fabian’s voice came through the mind link, and Cyrus hummed vaguely.
However, the subordinate didn’t say anything for some time.
He didn’t know how to break the news to his King.
"What is it, Fabian?" Cyrus asked through the mind link.
"The man that Gregory found was drugged with the same poison that was given to our Princess. And you... You need to come and see," Fabian said.
"Ask the guests to leave, Grandpa. We have an important thing to discuss," Cyrus’s gaze was deep and meaningful.
Grayson knew he wasn’t joking about this expression, so he nodded at the ministers, other alphas, and Luna, who shook his head and left.
Thames and Hannah were about to leave, too, when Cyrus raised his brows at them.
"Where are you going? You guys aren’t guests," Cyrus said.
His words surprised everyone, leaving them flabbergasted.
Was he accepting these healers as his family?
"We have things to discuss," Cyrus said, his gaze lingering on Hannah.
The girl gulped, barely keeping her smile intact as she felt something was wrong with how he looked at her.
Then again, the monster always had this kind of unapproachable dark gaze, making him unappealing.
Once everyone had left the hall, Grayson looked at his grandson and started speaking because he had received too many complaints from him this time.
But first, he wanted to hear what Cyrus had to say.
"A dead body was found under the stairs at this big event. And probably someone tried to attack Amelia once again," Cyrus said. And once again, everyone was left speechless, especially Hannah.
