Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 78: Dragon’s blood
In the marketplace, once Amelia gave Kael the remaining pills she had formed earlier and asked about his progress, she called Marcos.
"Yes, princess," the driver said.
Amelia smiled at his words.
"I might need something from my laboratory soon. Can you bring it?" She asked.
When the man nodded, she told him the chemicals, their precise location, and how to handle them before ending the call.
She called Uncle Harrison while walking out of the forest, waiting for the man to pick up.
However, it seemed the man was busy on another call. She was about to call again when she bumped into someone, making her apologise immediately.
"Don’t apologize for bumping into me," she heard the familiar voice, and her pupils dilated.
She looked up, but it was too late.
The man bent and picked her up in his arms, placing his hand on her mouth to stop her from screaming as he used his supernatural abilities to take her inside the forest.
"Mm!" Amelia’s screams turned muffled before she opened her mouth and tried her only resort.
She bit his hand, and the man smirked.
He stopped at some distance, sitting on the large rock and placing her on his lap.
"What the hell?! Help!" Amelia screamed as soon as he removed his hand from her mouth, and the man winced, his ears hurting due to his sensitive hearing.
"Mm!" He covered her mouth again.
"I won’t remove my hand from your mouth if you scream again. And this time, I won’t use my hand to stop you," The man threatened her.
This made Amelia look at him with wide eyes. However, she gave up on the idea of screaming.
The man sighed and removed his hand.
"Why did you bring me here?" She asked, her knitted brows, indicating how pissed off she was.
The man looked into her eyes as if searching for something before he smiled.
Due to his hood, only his lips were visible to Amelia, but for some reason, she knew he was looking directly into her eyes, and a shudder ran down her spine.
This time, the man didn’t say anything. Instead, he pulled a small box from his pocket.
Amelia opened the box, her hands pausing when she saw a red emerald locket.
"For you," he whispered.
"What is it?" She asked.
She could see that it was a pendant. What she meant to ask was what the hell was inside the pendant.
It didn’t look entirely stone.
"Blood," He said calmly.
Amelia’s pupils dilated, and she looked at him in surprise.
"Have you lost your mind? You want me to wear blood? I am not a freakin vampire!" She screeched.
If it had been anyone using the kind of tone with him, he would’ve killed that person long ago, but not with her. She was different.
"You are not a werewolf either," he said.
Amelia glared at the man. He was obviously making fun of her lantern healer self.
"I am not wearing it. Would my husband let me wear blood just like that?" She asked.
"It’s just not any simple blood. It’s dragon’s blood," The mysterious man said.
"Don’t call me mysterious anymore. You know my name," The man said as if reading her mind, and Amelia pursed her lips.
She didn’t know what to think of it.
On one hand, she was falling for her husband, and on the other hand, she was sitting on the lap of the man who claimed to be her mate, whom she couldn’t deny either, with a dragon’s blood pendant in his hands.
And what was worse? Her husband would kill this man if he found out about him.
"Last time I checked, you were the rogue head," Amelia whispered, almost hushed.
The man went silent for some time.
"I don’t know who I am either," he whispered, opening his wounds to someone for the first time.
"Hmm?" She asked.
The man sighed and helped her onto the rock before standing.
"I am a rogue head, but I don’t smell like a rogue. My foster parents found me near a river, and they barely saved me. They died when I was three. They sent me to an orphanage, which was later burned, and child traffickers abducted us. We were enslaved..." The man didn’t elaborate on what happened after that and how he came here.
Amelia’s frown eased a little.
"I crave blood," he turned to the girl, his gaze lingering on her neck for a second before he averted it.
However, Amelia clearly saw it.
"How did you even manage to get dragon’s blood? It’s quite rare. There are only a few dozen of them and not even in this country," Amelia said.
The man shifted his attention to her face before he smiled, his smile suddenly appearing a little beautiful.
"I heard it’s a symbol of an eternal bond. Believe it or not, Amelia, you are not getting out of this easily. You might be married, but you are mine. I have lost a lot in life, but I am not losing you," he said.
In a split second, he appeared beside her, and Amelia jerked in shock.
"C-can you not use your powers near me? It irks me," Amelia frowned.
The man chuckled, a beautiful laugh, just a small one, but enough to make her heart flutter.
"Just say you are jealous of them," He said.
Amelia didn’t say anything.
She didn’t like the way her heart was fluttering for this man.
"I might break your heart," Amelia said softly.
The man paused in his steps. He looked at the girl, grabbing her chin and forcing her to look up.
He observed her face through the veil of his hood.
"You are afraid that your heart will fall for me, too. Honestly, I never thought I would love to share my mate with anyone, but for some reason, with you, I am ready to be the second person, as long as it means you will be mine," He said before he took out a scroll that he had hidden on his waist.
"That emerald was just a small token of appreciation and apology for being unable to save you in time. This is your gift," Kyle said before grabbing her hand and placing the scroll on it.
He bent and kissed her forehead, his lips lingering for an extended second before he left.
Amelia furrowed her brows and thought it was probably some kind of love letter.
She was about to throw the scroll, but stopped.
Her heart wanted her to read it.
With a sigh, defeated by her own emotions, she opened the scroll nonetheless, her gaze deepening when she read what it said.
It was proof, a birth certificate.
It wasn’t just anybody’s birth certificate but Hannah’s. And the mother’s name on it was—
Jessica.
Amelia’s heart thumped loudly in her chest, and she stood quickly.
"Kyle!" "Kyle!" She shouted his name, hoping he would come again and tell her about this.
However, no one came.
She looked at her phone, which had an incoming call from Uncle Harrison, and walked out of the forest.
Kyle, sitting on the tree at some distance, sipped blood from the blood bag he was holding, his hurting jaws calming slowly.
He had almost lost control near Amelia today. He was minutes away from kissing her neck and then sucking a little of her blood, strengthening their bond.
As much as he wanted to do it, he didn’t want to do it without her permission, which still looked a little hard.
He sighed.
