Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 192: Series of Deceit
In the Graveyard forests, Amelia looked at the area once she reached there, pulling out her phone to try to seek Kael’s support and see if the team she had asked for was there or not.
However, as soon as she pulled out her phone, she noticed no signal symbol on the top corner. Someone was using a signal jammer here.
A sigh left her mouth when she felt someone’s presence behind her, and her hand immediately reached for the dagger on her waist.
"I am not here to harm you, yet." Dominic’s cold voice appeared right behind her, and she quickly turned before stepping back to create some distance between them.
Her amber eyes narrowed at the man who raised his hands in mock surrender.
"I didn’t think you would quit from the trials for real and come here. Since you completed your part of the promise, I should complete mine, too, right?" Dominic asked.
Amelia’s eyes blazed with silent fury as she looked behind him, where the woman, probably Cyrus’s mother, was being carried in a cage-like structure.
Her pupils dilated when she noticed her hands and legs tied to the corners of the cage, leaving her dangling body in the air.
Her heart ached for the woman who endured this kind of torture for more than two decades.
"You are a monster," She seethed, blinking the tears away when she looked at Dominic with disgust.
Dominic shrugged. He didn’t care what anyone thought about, especially not the girl he was here to torment.
He walked to the cage before taking the whip from his subordinate. He used the whip to hit the bars of the cage, causing Cyrus’s mother, Gloria, to open her eyes and look at him with the same disgust and hatred that he had been trying to break for so long.
However, her expression turned to one of shock when she looked around at the forest.
It had been so many years, probably decades, since she saw real trees and soil. Due to the constant insufferable torture, her wolf died long ago, and thus, her sense of smell didn’t allow her to feel what that familiar smell used to feel like.
The realisation that she lost her wolf senses completely hit her like a truck, and she blinked her eyes furiously to keep the tears away.
Her eyes darted back to Dominic, who was waiting for her to look back at him with the same inquisitive eyes.
"You must be wondering why I brought you here, no?" Dominic asked before Gloria could speak.
Then again, could she speak anything after so long?
"You see, this girl standing here, she is your only son’s wife. Cyrus’s wife," Dominic pointed at Amelia, and Gloria lifted her head with great difficulty, the shackles making it nearly impossible for her to look at the girl.
However, the desire to have one look at what his son’s life was like forced her to fight against the pain and lift her head to look at Amelia.
Her pupils dilated ever so slightly, and her lips parted softly.
It almost looked like she wanted to say something, but couldn’t.
Amelia’s gaze trembled at the sight, and her anger started to surge at the realization of how brutally Dominic tortured this lady, who was supposed to be her mother-in-law, the former queen, and live like royalty.
The sounds of the birds chirping made her take a deep breath.
She walked ahead to go near the cage, to talk to the lady and assure her that she would save her and free her from these shackles that marked years of torture. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
However, as soon as she walked to the centre, Dominic smirked and more than twenty trained men immediately circled her.
Amelia paused.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
Dominic feigned an innocent expression. "What does it look like, dear Amelia?" He asked.
Amelia narrowed her brows.
"Are you trying to double-cross me? You asked me to drop from the trials, and you would let me meet King Cyrus’s mother in return." Amelia said.
Dominic nodded his head before asking her when he betrayed his promise. She dropped, and in return, he brought Cyrus’s mother here out, letting her see her.
He smirked at her.
"What? Did you think I would let you take her away when she is the trump card I have been saving against Cyrus for so long?" Dominic asked.
He thought Amelia would lash out at him and scream about his injustice. However, Amelia made no such move.
Rather, she kept looking at him with a calm expression before she nodded.
"It was my fault for believing you..." Amelia dragged her sentence as she looked down at her feet in false defeat before she looked up, straight into his eyes.
"However, it’s your fault for thinking I wouldn’t predict this. I just needed you to bring her out." Amelia said before she looked to her left.
The earlier sound of the birds chirping was the signal she had told her team to go with, so that no one would suspect.
Besides, the scent-hiding chemical she had been working on for months had been effective for a couple of weeks, and she had sent it for mass production, asking them to use it.
Kael, along with the rogues and females that she had been training with, entered the area and started circling Dominic.
The man looked around in surprise.
His gaze shifted to his subordinates, who had been keeping an eye on Cyrus’s people and even Kyle’s rogues.
The look on their face told him that even they didn’t know anything about this.
Dominic shook his head at them. Just one job. He instructed them to monitor anyone Amelia would contact, and for that, he even asked them to tap her phone and record every call, but they couldn’t do it.
The way these people appeared and their insistence on bowing to Amelia made it clear that he had underestimated this girl, at least a little.
No one predicted that the girl was guiding a small army of her own and would bring them here.
"Good move," Dominic said, and Amelia nodded.
However, just like he had been asking his people to keep an eye on Amelia and her contacts, he had been keeping things from his people, too.
"But if you think these people are the only ones I brought because I underestimated you completely and thought you would come alone, then you are wrong. How could I disrespect you by thinking the girl who has been ruining my plans would be dumb enough to come alone? Of course, I brought it back up for this fight," Dominic smirked.
He pulled out a small whistle from his pocket and blew on it, making Amelia’s heart skip a beat.
She looked around at the trees that were being covered by trained professionals dressed in black, their swords shining and glaring at them.
Though her people had been training rigorously, she wasn’t foolish enough to believe they could beat these professionals, who had been training for over ten years.
She gulped.
The most glaring fact that could turn against them was that they didn’t even know how many people Dominic really had. The dense forests were making it hard for them to see.
And though Dominic didn’t know how many of them were there, she didn’t want to risk it all and have them killed brutally for her.
Amelia looked at Kael, who looked back at her, trying to decipher what she wanted them to do next.
She then shifted her gaze to Cyrus’s mother and nodded at Kael softly.
The man took a deep breath before nodding.
The indication was clear. They needed to do anything to free that lady and take her away with them. And that they needed to save their lives.
Even if it meant risking Amelia’s life for it.
After having worked under Sebastian’s glorious killer team in his prime time, Kael wasn’t the guy to run away from a challenge, but he knew this wasn’t just about him. It was about the team and the girls who were still not ready to fight such trained professionals.
He licked his bottom lip and looked at his people, whom he had a mind link with, the leaders who were joined with this organization.
"I understand. Maybe I gave you a little less credit." Amelia walked to Dominic in small steps.
Dominic smirked, observing her every move like a hawk, not letting his guard down even for a second.
"You are worse than a monster. A scum that even Amora should be ashamed of," Amelia said.
Dominic’s expression faltered at her words.
"What did you say?" He asked.
Amelia smirked.
She knew her words were making him angry, but that was exactly what she was looking for.
Freeing the twins’ mother was the least she could do to show her love, given that they had been supporting her through thick and thin, respecting every decision she made since they met.
"You heard me. Or should I spell it out for you?" Amelia asked.
As soon as she ended speaking, Dominic used his speed to pin Amelia to the nearest tree, his fingers wrapping around her throat in the lurking danger of his wolf.
"I dare you to repeat it." Dominic said.
Amelia smiled.
She averted her gaze and blinked at Kael, who nodded, ready for their move.
