Reborn as the Villain's Wife, I Shine in 80s-Chapter 552 - 536 I am not your father
The newlyweds took the stage to give their speech, but Tian Sangsang couldn’t hear a word. When the applause erupted, her hands felt numb and wouldn’t lift.
He once said he would give her a wedding—a sacred ceremony, a proclamation of their love. But in the end, he didn’t. She never got to see it. What she witnessed instead was his marriage to another woman. They stood among the crowd, receiving everyone’s blessings. They leaned close to each other, overflowing with smiles, their eyes silently sharing their happiness.
A newlywed couple, admired by all.
At this wedding, she was just an onlooker, a bystander. Helpless, she looked toward the stage, but he didn’t even spare her a glance. His eyes were filled only with Hua Jun.
How desperately Tian Sangsang wished that man wasn’t Jiang Jinghuai, that it was someone who merely shared his face and form. But she couldn’t lie to herself—it was Jiang Jinghuai. The ring on his finger gave him away. That was his ring, one she could never forget.
Not only was he wearing that ring, but he also donned his wedding band, the one he shared with Hua Jun. Through the crowd, straining her eyes, she could almost see the ring clearly. Golden, wrapped around his ring finger, engraved with delicate patterns. Their fingers intertwined, the ring glinting and stabbing her heart like a blade.
Tian Sangsang’s eyes grew damp—not enough to brim with tears, but enough to cloud over. By now, it had become rare for her to weep wholeheartedly.
She thought back on their marriage. From beginning to end, it was a joke. Yet she had reveled in it, full of smug pride. They had a marriage certificate, but no wedding like this, no banquet like this, no wedding ring like this. Now, she stood there foolishly, reduced to nothing more than secondhand goods.
"Grandma, isn’t that Daddy?" Meng Shuyan tilted his little head to ask Ye Binyi while staring at the man on stage who looked just like his father. They had all said his father was dead, but Daddy wasn’t dead—he was clearly standing there on stage.
His big eyes stared intently, filled with desire.
Ye Binyi wiped her tears, lovingly pulling the little boy into her arms, unsure of what to say. What kind of mess was this? "Yanyan, that’s not your Daddy. If your Daddy saw you, he wouldn’t forget you. So he’s not your Daddy. Come on, let Grandma wipe your tears. Don’t be sad."
The newlyweds came around to each table with toasts. When they reached Ye Binyi and Jiang’s father’s table, Hua Jun and Jiang Jinghuai raised their glasses.
Hua Jun smiled brightly and said, "Uncle, Auntie, thank you so much for coming to our wedding~"
Ye Binyi and Jiang’s father exchanged a glance, sighed helplessly, and raised their glasses with a polite, "Congratulations on your wedding." As for the usual blessings of "May you have a child soon" or "Grow old together," they stuck in their throats—it was impossible to say.
Ye Binyi looked at the couple before her. Somehow, she couldn’t feel the happiness she should have. Hua Jun marrying her son had been her long-time dream. And yet, now that the moment was here, her heart felt unbearably heavy.
"Daddy." Meng Shuyan sat in his seat, tugging at Jiang Jinghuai’s coat, his small hands hugging Jiang’s waist as he sobbed, "Mommy and I miss you so much, Daddy. Even little sister misses you."
The crowd froze, stunned by the scene. Jiang Jinghuai stiffened. He looked down at the little boy’s fuzzy hair, and the sound of his crying stirred something deep in his chest. There was an odd sense of familiarity, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t grasp it.
Neither Ye Binyi nor Jiang’s father had the heart to pull Meng Shuyan away.
Hua Jun anxiously observed Jiang Jinghuai’s expression, but his face remained blank. Gently, he pried Meng Shuyan away and said indifferently, "Little boy, I’m not your Daddy. You’ve mistaken me for someone else."
"You are my Daddy!" Meng Shuyan insisted, clutching his clothes. He stubbornly demanded, "Daddy, have you abandoned me and Mommy?!"
Jiang Jinghuai frowned slightly. In his mind, he thought: I don’t even know who your mother is. His past was a complete blank slate. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Hua Jun smiled and said, "Yanyan, listen to Auntie. This really isn’t your Daddy. He just resembles your Daddy, but your Daddy is no longer with us."
Meng Shuyan glared at her accusingly with wide, tear-filled peach-blossom eyes, shouting furiously, "He is my Daddy! You stole my Daddy away! Waah!"
"Little boy, I’m not your Daddy. You’ve mistaken me," Jiang Jinghuai repeated, his tone flat.
Unwilling to let his wife be accused, he took Hua Jun’s hand and said coolly, "Let’s go toast the next table." He nodded apologetically to Ye Binyi and Jiang’s father before moving on.
Ye Binyi picked up Meng Shuyan, who stared listlessly at their retreating figures. His tears broke free and streamed down his small face.
Why doesn’t Daddy recognize him...?
"Ms. Tian, Mr. Zhao, thank you for attending our wedding." Hua Jun greeted them with a radiant smile.
Tian Sangsang stood pale-faced, staring unblinkingly at Jiang Jinghuai.
"Don’t you recognize me?"
Jiang Jinghuai, naturally reticent, found the question puzzling. His deep eyes darkened, and he didn’t respond.
Zhao Chun felt rage bubbling in his chest. In a burst of fury, he suddenly punched Jiang Jinghuai in the face, shouting, "How can you do this?! You’re marrying Hua Jun—then what about Sangsang?! And what about Yanyan!?"
He raised his fist for another strike, but Jiang Jinghuai seized his wrist firmly, his brows furrowed. "This is a wedding, not a place for you to act out."
Zhao Chun shook off his hand, glaring daggers into his face. "I want to knock some sense into you!"
"If you aren’t dead, why didn’t you come home? Why would you choose amnesia?! You’d be better off dead!"
He pointed accusingly at Tian Sangsang and said, "This is your wife, and she’s carrying your child."
"Do you know how much suffering comes with ten months of pregnancy? And now you’re still breaking her heart!?"
"Jiang Jinghuai, don’t you think you’re a bastard?!"
Each scathing question echoed through the wedding hall, leaving the guests in uproar.
"You all call me Jiang Jinghuai. You’re all trying to force a life onto me that isn’t mine." Jiang Jinghuai’s deep eyes narrowed, his expression frosting over. "But I’m Ye Jiang."
His gaze swept past Tian Sangsang indifferently. "So what does she have to do with me? My wife is Hua Jun. Her child has nothing to do with me. Hua Jun and I will have our own children in the future."
Tian Sangsang let out a soundless, bitter laugh. She laughed until tears streamed from her eyes.
She grabbed Zhao Chun and wiped her tears. "He said he’s Ye Jiang. We’ve got the wrong person."
"It’s good that you understand." Hua Jun let out a breath of relief, looped her arm around Jiang Jinghuai’s, gave a slight bow, and continued making their toasts to others.
Zhao Chun noticed the tear stains on her cheeks and suddenly snapped back to his senses. "Yes, yes, I made a mistake. He’s Ye Jiang, not Jinghuai. Sangsang, don’t be upset." Her belly was so large, it was hard to feel at ease.
Tian Sangsang felt a tightening in her belly, a sharp stab of pain. It wasn’t a baby’s kick—this was far more intense. Wave after wave of pain struck her.
She couldn’t help but groan, her trembling hands instinctively resting on her belly.
Zhao Chun’s face filled with worry as he looked at her anxiously. "Sangsang, what’s wrong?"
But Tian Sangsang, lost in the sea of grief, couldn’t hear his question. Her spirit felt detached from her body, as if her soul was attempting to break free of its restraints, transcending physical boundaries!
