Reborn as the Sweetheart of a Paranoid Boss-Chapter 462: Lynn Rhodes’s Designs
"Red in The Empire symbolizes auspiciousness, celebration, fervor, and enthusiasm."
"Moreover, red comes in many varieties, including maroon, vermillion, scarlet, orange-red... and more shades, offering plenty of room for creativity."
"With the arrival of the new year, I also want to design some works that fit the festive spirit."
Selena Kensington looked at Lynn Rhodes’ designs on the drafts, indeed employing various shades of red and many places used the principle of gradient.
She also boldly incorporated some Western designs like puffed sleeves and ball gowns.
It boasted The Empire’s traditional cultural hues while being close to modern design.
Perfect for lovers of ancient styles to wear daily.
"It’s very much in your style, well done."
Selena praised her, then continued, "But you seem to really like incorporating crane elements, right?"
Among Lynn Rhodes’ drafts given to her, there were four or five drafts featuring crane elements.
Lynn was surprised, then smiled as she explained.
"In The Empire’s culture, cranes symbolize good fortune and well-being, their pure white feathers also represent elegance and purity."
"Moreover, in The Ancient Wilds, cranes were heard to be a symbol of the Clan of Celestial Masters; imagining those masters with ethereal aura draped in crane robes, isn’t it quite graceful?"
Selena suppressed her surprise and smiled.
These are the current rumors about the Clan of Celestial Masters in the present world.
Indeed, cranes symbolize the clan, but cranes are even more important than what the rumors suggest.
"Perhaps you could understand cranes from another perspective."
"Don’t just confine them to symbolic representations; instead, view them as real, living creatures."
"The cranes soaring in all directions, the cranes standing...the expressions of these cranes seem too stiff."
Selena pointed to the cranes above.
Lynn was stunned, then responded with delight afterward.
"That’s right! There are real cranes in the world! Why do I place them in such unreachable cold heights?!"
Previously, Lynn mostly designed cranes that were ethereal, elusive.
They were intangible, as if merely unrealistic figments.
Out of reach, untouchable.
Yet Lynn forgot about the existence of real, living cranes.
They are creatures of flesh and blood.
If such feelings were infused into designing cranes, the cranes on the clothing sketches would appear more vivid and lifelike, not just empty decorative patterns.
"Miss Kensington, thank you so much!"
"Thank you for the inspiration!!!"
Lynn gratefully said.
Selena chuckled softly, "You’re welcome, I was just sharing my thoughts."
Lynn was the energetic type, eager to modify as soon as she had new ideas.
Seeing this, Selena didn’t want to disturb her any longer but asked Lynn a question before leaving.
"By the way, have you named this series yet?"
Lynn looked up and smiled slightly, "Exotic Fire."
The name for this series of clothing designs was ’Exotic Fire.’
"Exotic Fire? Why?"
Selena curiously asked.
Lynn explained to her, "In the hexagrams, the Li hexagram symbolizes red, and in the five elements, fire corresponds to the color red. Combining the two gives ’Exotic Fire.’"
So that’s it!
Once Selena understood, she nodded, realizing Lynn truly loved The Empire’s traditional culture.
She even had a deep study of the five elements and hexagrams.
"It’s a very nice name. I believe your brand ’Spiritual Dress’ will be well recognized."
"Thank you for your kind words."
Lynn was somewhat excited as this was her first time designing and releasing an entire series of clothing.
"You go ahead and work, I’ll leave now."
"Alright, Miss Kensington, take care."
After Selena left, Lynn immediately got back to modifying the clothing designs.
Just as Selena stepped out of Lynn’s office, she received a text message from Sloane Hawthorne.
[Sloane]: Sis, I’ve arrived at the recording studio.
[Selie Stays Slim]: Okay, I’m coming right away.
Then, Selena headed to the recording studio.
*
Inside the recording studio, Sloane was already ready.
Outside in the control room were Hugh Kensington and Sloane’s vocal teacher.
Seeing Selena entering, the two slightly nodded and greeted her.
"Is Sloane ready?"
Selena asked.
The vocal teacher nodded, "After so much training, her voice is very steady now, singing this song should be no problem."
Selena smiled contentedly, "Then let’s start."
Following their gestures, Sloane began singing inside the recording studio.
The trio each wore headphones, listening to Sloane’s voice as she sang inside.
Indeed, her voice was much better than the first time she came to the recording studio.
She also mastered quite a few rhythm changes, and her voice was steadier.
Moreover, her raspy voice singing this song had a burning flavor of spirits scorched in the throat.
Spicy yet fiery.
This is the basic rhythm of "Butterfly Flame."
The story portrayed in "Butterfly Flame" was indeed deeply stirring yet spicy and fiery.
When Sloane finished singing, the three in the control room began to applaud.
"Very good."
Selena said to Sloane, who just walked out of the recording studio.
Sloane smiled with slightly pursed lips, "Thanks, sis."
"Thanks to the teacher’s guidance and Hugh’s method instruction."
"You yourself are talented, and you worked hard. These praises are well deserved."
Hugh Kensington said.
The Kensington siblings were taught by their mother, Julian Jennings, from a young age to understand one truth.
As long as you have enough talent, work hard, and have enough capability.
Then any kind of praise or amazed gazes, you deserve it.
No need for humility, nor false flattery.
Those gazes and words, are your rightful due.
Sloane nodded obediently.
"Later, I’ll send the close-up shot you took at the Stonefall film city to the art team for them to refine as the album cover for the theme song."
"Alright."
After that, Selena let Sloane leave first.
After all, ever since Sloane returned from Stonefall, she had been busy with her finals at Aethelgard Media University, and finding time to record the song was already quite rare.
Once the recording was finished, Selena hurriedly let Sloane return to studying.
After Sloane left, the vocal teacher also departed.
Selena brought up the matter of Jonah Hawthorne’s team designing software with Hugh.
"Have you disclosed this matter to anyone?"
Selena asked.
Hugh slightly shook his head, "Only the people at the gathering know."
Hugh was not intending to disclose this matter early, keeping everything confidential between himself and Jonah privately.
On one hand, it’s not great to reveal things too early; it might cause Sidney Dalton’s vigilance and investigation, possibly to Jonah’s detriment.
On the other hand, Hugh also wanted to see how Sidney would respond when they reveal this trump card.
