Reborn as the Sweetheart of a Paranoid Boss-Chapter 45: Deep Affection
After that, Vivian Sutton and Selena Kensington started rushing around to various amusement facilities again.
While Clement Luther and Sterling Norwood followed behind them, acting as protectors.
As the sky gradually darkened, they headed toward the Ferris wheel.
All four of them wore wristbands, naturally bypassing the long queue, directly entering the VIP passage.
The staff saw two couples approaching, and naturally understood their purpose.
With a smile, they guided them onto the Ferris wheel.
The massive Ferris wheel shimmered with colorful lights at night.
The Ferris wheel moved very slowly, enough to see the entire amusement park and surrounding scenery.
But since Selena Kensington had been to Aethelgard’s Peak, her initial excitement at looking around soon waned.
She snuggled into Sterling Norwood’s arms.
Let out a yawn.
They’d had so much fun today that she was feeling a bit tired now.
Sterling Norwood adjusted his hold on her to let her lean on him comfortably.
Fatigue rose in her heart, combined with the slow movement of the Ferris wheel, it was quite hypnotic.
Selena Kensington leaned against him and drifted off to sleep.
*
Selena Kensington was awakened by a kiss.
"Hmm... Have we reached the top?" She opened her eyes, somewhat drowsy.
Sterling Norwood kissed her tenderly at the corner of her eye. "Yes."
Selena Kensington looked outside and indeed, they were at the top.
By now, the sky was completely dark, and the lights below looked tiny, like ants in her eyes.
"Then, a kiss," Selena Kensington said sweetly and softly.
Sterling Norwood chuckled, bowed his head, and kissed her.
Unlike the previous gentle kisses, this time Sterling Norwood seemed to engulf her entirely.
With a hint of ferocity, as if the previous kisses were just a disguise, tearing off that mask to expose the man’s primal urge to possess.
Selena Kensington quickly surrendered, sinking with him.
Even more captivating than before.
As Sterling Norwood retreated, what he saw was Selena Kensington slightly gasping for air.
A look that could easily awaken desire in anyone.
Sterling Norwood’s eyes were deep and obscure, like a serpent eyes its prey—dark and fierce—waiting for the right moment to strike!
Sterling Norwood was acutely aware of the reactions his body was experiencing, but the setting was obviously inappropriate, so he suppressed his inner flame. Only then did he wipe away the tears at the corner of Selena Kensington’s eyes.
"So delicate, hmm?"
He said with a soft laugh.
His little wife was truly fragile, even a kiss could bring tears to her eyes.
Selena Kensington didn’t want to speak; embarrassed, she lowered her head and buried it in Sterling Norwood’s chest.
Though she hadn’t seen herself just now, she surely looked ridiculous!
Then she heard Sterling Norwood say.
"It’s said that couples who kiss at the highest point of the Ferris wheel will stay together forever."
"Well, listen carefully. You are my wife, Selena Kensington. I will indulge you in anything you want to do. If you mess up, I’ll clean up for you."
"But don’t think of leaving me. We are destined to be entangled together."
"Even in death, don’t think of escaping me."
The man’s voice was deep and gentle, like the whispers of a devil tempting her.
Ambiguous and full of allure.
Yet the words he spoke were so terrifying.
Selena Kensington felt a sour ache, being pressed by heavy emotions.
This phrase, he had said it before.
At her grave.
Hearing these words again made Selena Kensington suddenly question her own thoughts; was what she was doing really right?
He had long suspected that her motives for marrying him might not be pure.
Yet he still indulged her, let her do as she pleased.
