Reborn as the Sweetheart of a Paranoid Boss-Chapter 306: Every Encounter Is Destined
She didn’t know that every night while she slept, he would gently caress her face, as if trying to confirm that everything was real.
He was so insecure, even a complete monster.
Yet she was willing to indulge him.
He thought he’d never forget the first glance she cast his way.
It was filled with worry and tension, indulgent eyes.
One look, and he was redeemed.
Her moments of joy, anger, pouting, and calmness, he had seen them all.
It was as if a novel thing appeared before him, no matter how she was, he felt nothing but a yearning for more.
She was his supreme deity, and he was willing to bow his head devoutly before her.
To surrender to her.
Selena Kensington noticed Sterling Norwood hadn’t spoken and remained silent herself.
She had thought more than once, if after her rebirth she hadn’t actively sought out the Norwood Family, what would be the outcome between her and Sterling Norwood?
She had fantasized about many different endings.
She would use her abilities to defeat her uncle’s family, and then seek revenge on Sidney Dalton and Roxanne Sutton.
Though the process would be much harder than it is now, she would never repeat her past mistakes.
She and Sterling Norwood would be strangers, living and dying without ever meeting.
He might continue living in The Northwood Estate, or perhaps become a towering figure of influence...
But for Selena Kensington, any imagined ending was impossible.
For none of them would happen.
They had already met, and from then on, it was a lifetime of loving and staying together.
She would never leave him, no matter life or death.
Normal person or monster, it doesn’t matter.
She was willing to indulge him, no matter who he was, as long as he was Sterling Norwood, her beloved.
Selena recalled the words Julian Jennings often spoke to her in childhood, "Every encounter is destined."
At the time, she didn’t understand, even doubted the idea.
Thinking her mother was crafting stories to amuse her.
Whenever this happened, Julian would smile gently, "Selie is still young, someday when you experience it, you’ll believe."
But now, she believed.
Her encounter with Sterling Norwood was fated.
After Sterling Norwood turned off the hairdryer, the absence of its noise brought Selena back from her thoughts.
She turned to look at Sterling Norwood, "Finished?"
Sterling Norwood noticed her slightly reddened eyes, his fingertips touching the corner of her eye, "What’s the matter?"
His fingers were cold, easing the warmth at the corner of Selena’s eyes.
She smiled, "Just reminiscing happy memories."
Sterling Norwood raised an eyebrow slightly.
Selena gently pushed him, "Go take a shower."
"...Alright."
Once Sterling Norwood went into the bathroom, Selena got up from the sofa and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room.
The hanging chair beside her was covered with soft fur blankets, making it comfortable to sit in.
She turned the hanging chair towards the floor-to-ceiling window.
In a foreign country, gazing at the neon-lit nightscape outside the window had its own unique charm.
Vyland’s streets were very neatly planned, right in front of Selena was a wide avenue.
At the end of the street stood the famous Mirel Cathedral.
It was already nighttime, and Mirel Cathedral had ceased to open.
In the darkness, only the surrounding lights made it faintly visible.
It exuded an air of ancientness, mystery, and solemnity.
When Sterling Norwood came out of the bathroom, he saw Selena sitting in the hanging chair.
The chair was still gently swaying.
She wasn’t wearing shoes, her delicate feet exposed to the air.
