Later in the story, Lily Payne reappears when Zane Quinn battles The Demon Lord; once again, Lily sacrifices herself, becoming Zane’s Sword Spirit to save him.

The sword was eventually named Lotus Heart by Zane Quinn.

Lily Payne’s character is consistently portrayed positively; though she is younger than Zane, she is like a little adult caring for him ever since they were young, supporting him after the Quinn Manor was destroyed.

She always hoped in her heart that Zane would eventually reach the pinnacle of The Immortal Sects.

This is just the surface portrayal of Lily Payne.

In Selena Kensington’s depiction, Lily Payne, despite being selfless, is also a normal girl with dreams that girls should have.

After falling off the cliff, she was rescued by The Demon Lord Felix Lloyd while gravely injured.

Emotional entanglements ensued between the two.

Later, during Zane Quinn’s battle with The Demon Lord, Lily Payne finally recognized Zane.

Though she sacrificed herself as a Sword Spirit to protect Zane, her feelings for The Demon Lord continued to haunt her.

Selena Kensington was casting for this scene, the one that best depicts Lily Payne’s internally complex yet resolute emotions.
