Reborn As Divine Doctor to Rule the World-Chapter 150 - 151: Luo Jiner’s Plot
Chapter 150 -151: Luo Jiner’s Plot
Luo Jiner was about to leave when the guards at the door stopped her, “The Marquis has ordered that Miss Luo cannot leave the courtyard.”
“Impossible, why would the Marquis treat me this way? Do you realize I am carrying the Marquis’ child? Can you bear the responsibility if something happens?” Luo Jiner stated arrogantly.
Thinking her words might instill fear, she was surprised when the two men remained impassive and refused to let her leave. Luo Jiner tried to force her way through but was pushed back.
“The Marquis said no one is to come near here. If Miss Luo insists on leaving, we will have to take you directly to the Marquis for him to deal with you,” the guard said coldly.
This response infuriated Luo Jiner, and she felt helpless but to stay in her room. She glared at the two guards, secretly fuming; she hadn’t expected the Marquis to confine her. It seemed her plan to frame and entrap the concubine wouldn’t work.
She turned away, muttering to herself, “What do I do now, what should I do?”
Suddenly, her eyes lit up as someone came to mind, and she hurriedly called for Qiu Zhu.
Seeing the person with a swollen face, she feigned deep remorse and approached, about to touch her cheek, but Qiu Zhu dodged in fear.
“M-Miss,” she stuttered, terrified of being hit again.
Seeing how fearful Qiu Zhu was of her, Luo Jiner snorted coldly but hid her feelings and adopted a weak demeanor, “I’m sorry about what happened earlier. You suffered because of me.”
Qiu Zhu, puzzled by her sudden apology, quickly shook her head, “No, I’m fine.”
“Don’t worry, once this blows over, I will surely make it up to you!” Luo Jiner laughed lightly, seemingly forgetting her earlier frenzy.
“Y-Yes!” Qiu Zhu responded, ready to comply with whatever her mistress wished.
Then Luo Jiner took a silver note from her sleeve and tenderly instructed, “Qiu Zhu, here is one hundred taels, buy some ointment with it.”
Qiu Zhu dared not accept the silver note, hastily making excuses, “I don’t need it, really.”
“Take this note; I have another task for you,” Luo Jiner insisted, pressing the note into her hands and whispering instructions.
“This…”
“It’s just to deliver a message. What’s there to fear!” Luo Jiner was thinking of Liang Weishuang; deprived of her freedom, she had to use Qiu Zhu to send the message.
“Yes, I will handle it right away.” Qiu Zhu knew her mistress’s temper; if she did not comply, she dared not think of the punishment awaiting her.
As she watched Qiu Zhu’s departing figure, a vicious light flashed in Luo Jiner’s eyes.
Elsewhere, Old Madam reclined on a purple sandalwood flower chair, holding a tea cup, and asked, “Tell me, is Luo Jiner truly pregnant?”
“It’s hard to say.”
Nanny Xu did not say outright, but she suspected, quite strongly, that Luo Jiner was not pregnant.
“Ah, I wish she truly was pregnant. But, for Yuyu’s other concubines, why is there still no news from their bellies?” Old Madam sighed lightly, setting her cup down on the table, no longer in the mood for tea.
Seeing Old Madam’s troubled expression, Nanny Xu quickly tried to comfort her, “Old Madam, don’t rush these things; they take time.”
“Prepare some contraceptives for the two concubines. Perhaps their bodies are not capable. If not, we should summon a doctor to examine them,” Old Madam urgently hoped for a child in the family, so she would not have to worry anymore.
“Old Madam, don’t worry. The two concubines have only recently risen to favor; it is still quite early,” Nanny Xu said, diverting the topic, “I have heard recently that a man has been frequently visiting Anji Hall and often follows Doctor Shao.”
Old Madam, hearing this, set aside her concerns of the concubines and frowned, “With her like this, how can she properly care for a child, oh, my poor great-grandson.”
“Indeed, a pity for the Young Marquis.”
“What else can be done? Old Madam Shao is of no use; she can’t control her. Now, she’s even involved with another man. I fear the child might end up calling someone else father!” Old Madam voiced her concern with a headache.
Nanny Xu quickly handed the tea cup back, which Old Madam took and sipped lightly, feeling quite bitter inside.
The sun gradually set, and as the last ray of light disappeared, night fell.
Shao He closed the doors of Anji Hall, turning to the nearby carriage, his lips curling into a smile, he walked towards it with light steps.
After getting into the carriage, Pei Huaian expertly passed him a tea cup. Shao He took it and drank thinking of something Princess Huimin had once said, he couldn’t help but tease, “If you ever marry, we probably can’t stay friends.”

“I won’t marry.” Pei Huaian said almost instantly.
Seeing the stunned expression on his face, Pei Huaian explained, “That’s not where my ambitions lie.”
Shao He, realizing his own words carried a hint of jealousy, quickly changed the subject, “When do you plan to introduce me to Pei Siyang?”
“Day after tomorrow, I’ll come to pick you up,” Pei Huaian said, remembering Pei Siyang’s current condition, he warned, “His temper isn’t great due to his health condition. I hope you can be patient with him.”
“I understand.”
If she were in his position, unable to ever walk again, her mindset wouldn’t be great either. She could imagine that Pei Siyang’s demeanor might be somewhat despondent and his temper severe.
