Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate-Chapter 93: Target Practice
Chapter 93: Target Practice
"You never run with us, only watch us pant," Faris teased from his position. Seeing how Siroos was sprinting alongside his mate to keep her motivated.
"You are not my mate," Siroos shouted back with a certain uplift of his shoulders, making Faris grin; he would be sharing this with Ranon.
Siroos focused back on Cassandra, she was going faster than he had imagined. The knee-length dress she wore was light, and her legs and arms could move freely. The beads of sweat oozing out of her skin carried her scent, which was intoxicating, to say the least.
He kept his pace according to hers.
The sturdy muscles of his thighs and arms flexed and relaxed while his bronzed skin shimmered under the November sun. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
"Faster, Cassa. You can do it," he encouraged her, seeing her breath hitch and hearing her heart beat faster and faster. The ground had been smoothed but it was baking hot and emitted heat.
But they completed one round quicker than Siroos had anticipated.
"Go for the second round now, I will wait here," Siroos told her, staying back. He wasn’t even breathing faster, his stamina was incredible.
Cassandra nodded, wiping the sweat from her forehead with the back of her arm, she readied herself for the second round.
"Go, SIL go," Faris diagonally placed both his hands at the sides of his mouth and shouted.
Both the brothers watched as Cassandra went for a second round. Her stamina was good due to the intense training she had with her swordmaster; besides, she had learnt to run faster to avoid Stephanie and her shadows.
Siroos critically watched her, noticing at what point she began to tire and slow. By the middle of the second lap, she was exhausted and was about to stop.
"No! Keep going, even if you slow down. You mustn’t stop," he called out to her, giving clear instructions to not give up. Cassandra heeded it and kept running but by the time she neared him, she was totally out of breath and was about to collapse.
Siroos caught her before she hit the ground, steadying her with his stiff arms where the veins and muscles both bulged.
Her heart was beating faster than a war drum and her whole costume was drenched in sweat.
"Easy! I got you," Siroos calmly told her, proud that she had completed two rounds on her first attempt.
"Faris! Fetch water," he instructed his brother, who quickly got up and ran back to bring water from the oasis.
"I–I am fine." Cassandra placed her hand on her fast-beating heart and straightened up.
"You did well for the first time. We will slowly take this to three rounds and then four." Siroos rubbed her back. He wasn’t at all acting like how everyone had depicted, or maybe it was the first day, and he didn’t wish to scare her, Cassandra thought.
Faris brought water and Cassandra took in large gulps from the water skin, hydrating herself.
"My favourite duo, as much as I love to stay and tease. I have to go, I am meeting someone," Faris finally decided to leave.
"You mean, Ara." Siroos critically raised his brow.
"Don’t be the judge of me. Take care of my SIL, and don’t act like the tyrant you are." Waving the back of his hand, Faris disappeared, leaving the couple alone.
Siroos turned to Cassandra who seemed to have regained her breathing.
"Next we will do target practice. I wish to see how good your aim is," Siroos said, putting away the waterskin.
Her saffron scent was creating havoc in his mind but he kept shoving down the urge to have her sprawled underneath him and caress her beautiful skin.
His mark rested so proudly against her smooth skin while the anklet glistened under the sharp rays of the sun as his eyes wandered from her neck to her feet.
Cassandra glanced around and found the practice board that had been placed for target practice at a distance of about 25 feet.
Lifting her dress, Cassandra reached inside the hidden pocket and extracted the silver dagger Faris had gifted her.
"You carry it around?" Siroos asked, slightly amused.
"Yes, I learned my lesson after that snake bit me. Next time I will stab it." She twirled the dagger on her finger, the girl with violet eyes refused to be weak and her mate was going to teach her all the tricks in his arsenal.
"That’s my Malakti. You make me proud," Siroos took a step closer and grabbed her by the waist bringing her closer to his hard chest.
"Teach me, Siro." Cassandra waved the dagger while Siroos placed a loving kiss on her head. These sessions were going to be difficult for all he could think was imagining her in different positions to fit his cock inside her. That was not even an option. It was already twitching and becoming prominent under his loincloth.
"With pleasure."
Ungluing himself from her, Siroos positioned her in front of the target. He then guided her hand at the right angle and explained how to throw the dagger.
"Let’s see you try it," he stated, taking a step back and giving her space to do it on her own.
Cassandra moved her arm back while holding the hilt of the dagger the way Siroos had guided her and flung her arm forward, releasing the dagger.
The dagger soared through the air and Cassandra held her breath, watching it go, hoping for it to reach the target.
It went and went and fell short by at least five feet.
Siroos lowered his head and pursed his lips while Cassandra’s mouth flat-lined in disappointment, and she placed both her hands on her waist.
"That was pathetic," she cried out.
"It was your first attempt; see, we were only short by a few feet. You will get there," Siroos tried to lift her spirit and sauntered over to grab her dagger. He brought it back and handed it over to his mate.
"We will try again and then again. We only lose if we give up."
He placed both his hands against her flaming cheeks and pressed his nose against hers.
"I will try my best," she breathed out, not trying to take in his scent.
