Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 48: Ch : Jenna Lorance - Part 3
"W-What did you say...? Your boyfriend? Since when...? Mark, did you cheat on me?"
Jenna asked, immediately changing her tone to make herself out to be the victim in all of this. Since everyone had started to pay attention to her, she wanted to use this opportunity to spread the agenda that she had been cheated by Mark.
There was no way she wanted to let the words get out that she was the problem behind their relationship.
sigh
"Let me make something clear to you, Jenna. That marriage or whatever...I never wanted it. You and your mother tried to force me into it. And also, didn’t you steal a lot from me before the marriage as well? I have a list of what was stolen. As for cheating...we have to be involved to cheat. I don’t think we were ever involved with each other."
Jenna’s expression paled as soon as Andrew spoke. She wanted to stop him, but he continued.
"Besides, Lilianna is so much better compared to you. So you should stop using my name to get people on your side or you will regret it a lot in the future."
Andrew’s warning was clear- he was not going to play along with Jenna’s words or actions. The more he spoke, the more Jenna looked ready to combust.
"I...that is...how can you say all that to me? I helped you out so much in the past..."
Jenna tried to make excuses but she could tell that it was of no use.
Sometime between the time Andrew ran away from that marriage ceremony to right now, he had changed more than she could count on. In fact, it seemed as if he was a different person altogether.
"Ugh, are we done with this drama? Then, can we get going now? I want to get back home and relax in my bed."
Clara complained as she chose the perfect opportunity to interfere. Andrew nodded and shook off Jenna from his arm. He kept Lilianna close to him before they went off.
Once they were gone, the players Jenna had scammed immediately turned toward her.
"What the hell was that, Jenna? I thought you told us that you were close to Mark Dawnson. But he looks like he wants nothing to do with you. Did you lie to us?"
A player who had given Jenna a lot of his stuff asked in agitation. He had tried to take extra care of her in order to get close to her so that he could make a deal with Mark.
But now that the truth had come out, he no longer believed he had done the right thing.
"Lie? I did not lie to you. We were close...I mean, we are still close. Mark is just playing a little hard to get at the moment because he is No. 1. That is how it has always been. Even now, he came to help me out. Even if he says he does not want anything to do with me, he still worries about me."
She quickly explained and a few players around her made a small noise. They seemed to believe her which made her sigh in relief.
But most of the people around her did not seem to think the same.
"I see...I hope you are right. Otherwise, your position will become a lot trickier. Aren’t there a lot of people who helped you out because you told them you were someone special to Mark Dawnson? Once the news of what happened here spreads, I pray that you remain safe."
Jenna smiled at those words.
"I am sure I will be fine. I am much more powerful than you think."
She assured as she kept presenting a ’I’m-not-worried’ front on the outside. But on the inside, she was panicking badly. She knew she had fucked up but she still had a chance to make things right.
After all, she had the class ’trickster’. If she was not someone who could fool everyone else, then who could?

"A trickster? This is another new class I have never seen. But from the skills, it seems like it is based on manipulation. Not an attacking class, but a skill-based buffing class?"
Andrew did feel tempted to get a second buffer for his party. But he did not want to get someone who could become a liability to him in the future.
For now, Lilianna will have to pull her own weight.
And speaking of Lilianna, she finally noticed that she was still clutching Andrew’s arm and quickly let it go with a flush. Her eyes darted toward him before they looked around and somehow ended up back at him once more.
"I...I am sorry. I acted on my own without asking you. I apologize for putting you in a difficult situation."
Lilianna turned red as she apologised. She looked behind Andrew, only to see Clara’s teasing smile which made her feel even more embarrassed.
Her eyes turned to look back at Andrew, wondering if he would be disappointed in her and ask her to leave or something...
"It’s fine. I don’t mind what you did. In fact, I think you helped me out more than you caused me problems. I am thankful for your help." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Lilianna felt relief slam into her at those words.
"I...I see. Then, I will continue to help you out in such a way in the future as well if the need comes...anyway, should we head to the next section? Now that we have the map, it should be easy for us to exit this maze."
Lilianna quickly changed the topic once it felt like she was getting caught up in her own words.
The other three looked at the map before they quickly nodded.
"Yeah, we should get going now. There is no point in staying here any longer anyway."
