Chapter 122: Ch 122: Move and I’ll shoot

"How are you feeling right now? Have you gotten injured or something? If you need help, then tell me..."

Lilianna spoke in a hurried voice. Her eyes kept shuffling around to try and control herself. But her focus did not last on anything for more than a few seconds.

Andrew felt bad for her and immediately reached out to pat her back.

"It’s going to be alright. Just take a deep breath. You are fine..."

Andrew told Lilianna, and she nodded. Her hands became a little steadier as she looked at Andrew with a calm look on her face.

"Do you feel better now?"

Andrew asked Lilianna, and she nodded.

"Yeah, I feel better now....I think."

Lilianna slowly calmed down, and Andrew finally stopped patting her back.

Due to Lilianna’s healing, Andrew’s energy had come back as well, and he could walk normally once more. He put his weight on his legs and pulled himself back up.

Once he was sure he was fine, he immediately checked the system notification to see what prize he had won.

[Mini-game prize: 1st place: 50,000 system gold. 1 stat point]

The reward was not bad, and Andrew decided to check his own stats for the first time in a while.

"Shall we head back now? Clara has messaged me that she is done as well."

Since it was a time-limited game, they were all going to end at similar times. Andrew decided to head back and check everyone else’s progress as well.

"Let’s head back now. I am sure the others are waiting for us to return as well."

Lilianna nodded, and they quickly went back to his estate.

Andrew was the closest one to it, so he was the first one to return as well. The next group that returned was Emperor and Clara. Seraphina and Jenna followed soon after, and the others took their sweet time.

"So, how were the results? Emperor totally washed everyone, and I sat it out because of the demands of the game."

Clara spoke first with a satisfied look on her face. She seemed to have no issue with the fact that she had been made to take a passive role.

"Ugh, the same happened on our side. I sat it all out while Seraphina wiped the floor with everyone else."

Jenna admitted. But unlike Clara, she had a sour look on her face.

"W-We just lost...we are sorry."

Andrew nodded in understanding.

It was a given that not everyone would be able to win their mini-game, so he was not worried. With three wins, they had gained more than enough system gold...for now.

Thankfully, there would likely be more mini-games for them to participate in.

"Lilianna, take a look at these kids for now. We need to make sure no one is injured."

He told her, and she nodded before she got back to work and checked up on all the injured people.

Andrew watched it for a few seconds before he headed out to get some rest.

Despite having rested already, taken a potion, and even had Lilianna heal him, he still felt bone-deep tiredness threatening to knock him over. He could only conclude that it was the result of him having used his soul power.

He closed his eyes for a few seconds, and the world faded from around him. And when he opened his eyes, he suddenly felt another presence standing beside him.

Seraphina’s presence surprised him, but that was because he had not sensed her presence until he had opened his eyes.

’Tsk, am I really so tired that I cannot even sense another’s presence until I pay attention to them? I better get over this quickly...’

Andrew tried to mask his surprise, but he was unsuccessful.

He was not sure whether Seraphina noticed this or not, but even if she did notice it, she chose to ignore it and stood beside him quietly for now.

The silence felt nice and non-judgmental, and Andrew felt a little safer having someone he knew standing beside him.

"Thief, we managed to secure the funds that you wanted us to. Where do you want us to deposit them?"

Queen asked as she walked into the lab where Thief was talking with the lab assistant about some matters.

The lab assistant noticed Queen’s presence and immediately took a step back with a scared look on her face.

Even if she was not standing too close to Thief, she did not dare test the Queen’s patience. A lot of people had been injured by her for even less reason.

Thief noticed Queen as well, and instead of telling her off for glaring at the lab assistant, he gave Queen a nod of appreciation.

"Welcome back, Queen. I see that you have brought me some good news. Let me see how much you gathered..."

Queen quickly showed her savings to him, but she also addressed the shortcomings of her mission.

"I am sorry. We initially wanted to do even more, but then we lost a few mini-games...But don’t worry. The people who lost have been taken care of."

The lab assistant shivered as soon as she heard Queen’s words. She dared not imagine what ’taken care of’ meant when Queen said that.

Thief also ignored her word usage and gave her a patient look.

"Thank you for all your help, Queen. But be sure to be a little more courteous to your fellow players. They are all going through a hard time as well. Just...try treating them kindly..."

Andrew told her as he placed a hand on Queen’s shoulder. That made all her irritation flow out of the window, and she gave him a smile.

"Alright, I will do so if you say so."

But everyone knew this was just lip service from Queen.
