Chapter 45 - The Hero’s Ruin – Leonhardt’s Ultimate Dominance
◇◇◇
[Valtara Battlefield – Noon]
The sound of war drums thundered across the battlefield. The Valtara Army, led by Leonhardt Valtara, marched with unyielding confidence. At the front, Leonhardt sat atop his Mythical-Class Beast, Ironhorn, the Indomitable Rhino, towering over the battlefield like an unstoppable force.
Evelyn, dressed in a dark gown as Leonhardt's second wife, watched from the royal carriage. Her heart twisted as she saw Rael in the distance, still clinging to a losing battle.
"Rael..." she whispered, pain in her voice.
But Leonhardt's gaze never wavered.
"Father," Leonhardt spoke coldly. "Deploy the Valtara War Beasts."

Duke Alastor Valtara smirked. "As you command, my son."
A horn echoed across the field, and from behind the Valtara Army—massive creatures emerged. Gargantuan lizards, towering griffins, and monstrous wyverns—all tamed by the Valtara family.
And the Hero's Army... trembled in fear.
"No... no... NO!!" Rael shouted in horror. "W-We can't win against that!!"
But he had no choice.
Leonhardt grinned. "Crush them."

[The Battle]
The clash was one-sided.
Ironhorn trampled through the Hero's forces, crushing soldiers beneath its massive hooves. Wyverns swooped from the skies, burning the remaining camps. And Rael... watched as his army crumbled.
"No... this can't be happening..." Rael muttered in disbelief.
And then—he saw him.
Leonhardt.
Standing atop Ironhorn, his crimson gaze fixed solely on him.
"RAEL ASCARION!!" Leonhardt roared. "YOUR END HAS COME!!"
Rael's blood froze. "Y-You monster...!!"
Leonhardt laughed darkly. "A monster? Perhaps. But I am the monster who took your woman. And now—I will take everything else."
With a single command, Ironhorn charged straight toward Rael.
"NOOO!!"
Rael summoned Silverfang, his Sacred Griffin. "FIGHT, SILVERFANG!!"
But Silverfang hesitated. Rael's broken mental state affected his beast.
Leonhardt grinned. "Pathetic."
In a single strike—Ironhorn rammed Silverfang, sending it crashing to the ground.
"KYAAAAAA!!"
Rael hit the ground hard. Blood splattered from his mouth.
Leonhardt jumped down, walking toward Rael casually.
"...Get up."
Rael groaned, clutching his ribs. "...D-Damn you..."
Leonhardt laughed. "You already lost. Your army is finished. Your beast is defeated. And your woman...?" His smirk deepened. "She's already mine."
Rael's pupils shrank. "Y-You're lying...!!"
Leonhardt turned toward the royal carriage. "Evelyn. Come here."
Rael froze. "NO...!!"
Evelyn hesitated—but then she stepped down from the carriage, her steps reluctant.
"...E-Evelyn?" Rael's voice cracked.
She wouldn't meet his eyes.
Leonhardt grinned darkly. "Kiss me, Evelyn."
Rael's heart stopped. "NOOO!!"
Evelyn's body trembled—but her lips... moved toward Leonhardt.
And she kissed him.
A deep, passionate kiss.
"NNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Rael's sanity snapped.
◇◇◇
"NOOOO!!" Rael charged toward Leonhardt in blind rage. "I'LL KILL YOU!!"
But Leonhardt didn't even flinch.
In one swift motion—he drew his sword and slashed.
"GUAAAHHH!!"
Rael's arm was severed.
Blood poured like a waterfall.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Leonhardt's voice remained cold. "You should've stayed down."
Evelyn covered her mouth, horrified. "...Leon... why...?"
Leonhardt grabbed Rael by the hair, lifting his bloodied face.
"Look at me, Hero."
Rael's eyes were wide with madness and agony.
"I broke you. I stole your woman. And now... I will leave you with nothing."
Leonhardt raised his hand toward Silverfang. "Your beast. It will die."
"NOOOOOO!!" Rael screamed.
But Leonhardt's Ironhorn trampled Silverfang's skull—killing it instantly.
A beast's death meant the master's soul crumbled.
Rael's eyes hollowed. "N-No... no..."
Leonhardt leaned closer. "And now..."
He yanked Evelyn into his embrace.
"I'll make her moan my name tonight."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Rael's scream of despair echoed across the battlefield.
And Leonhardt laughed.
◇◇◇
The battle ended.
The Hero Army was annihilated.
Rael was broken—both mentally and physically.
And Leonhardt... dragged Evelyn into his war tent.
"...W-Why did you do that?" Evelyn asked, her voice still shaken.
Leonhardt smirked darkly. "To break him completely."
Tears fell from Evelyn's eyes. "...You're cruel."
He kissed her neck. "...And you love it."
Her body shivered. "...N-No..."
But she did.
And Leonhardt knew it.

The next day—Rael was paraded through the city streets of Valtara.
His broken, limbless body dragged behind a horse.
Citizens spat on him.
They laughed at him.
And in the palace balcony—Evelyn watched in silence, her heart both torn and filled with guilt.
"...Rael..."
But beside her, Leonhardt's hand grasped her waist possessively.
"He is nothing now," Leonhardt whispered. "You belong to me."
Evelyn's body trembled. "...Yes, my lord."
And from that moment on—Rael Ascarion ceased to exist.
Leonhardt had won.
Completely.
