Reborn as a Transcendent-Chapter 761Book 3: : Irene Prepares to Send Out Her Deluxe Gift Pack
After the meal. Everyone drank a cup of tea, then officially began the day’s work.
Yae-hime, Layna, and the two little ones worked in the warehouse refining “Holy Water.” Aurora engraved the bottles on the production line next door, while Fiat stood by to assist.
As for Angelica, she went to help her father, who had just recovered, with handling the village’s affairs.
“Cool and chilly… it feels so nice,” Zerene said as she sat on the edge of the pool, her slender legs soaking in the water.
“Soaking your feet really does help relieve fatigue. It’s pretty great,” Lili said as well, sitting on the poolside with her feet immersed.
The emerald-green water reflected their delicate, porcelain-like faces. Beside the two of them, Yae-hime was also soaking… no, correction, at that moment she was earnestly refining what was known as Holy Water.
Once the entire pool had turned a fresh, verdant green, the production line officially started up.
“You all…” Layna rubbed her forehead, looking utterly exasperated as she watched the three of them soaking their feet in the pool.
If outsiders ever found out that the so-called Holy Water was actually three girls’ foot-soaking water, it would probably cause quite a bit of trouble. Of course, some people would be ecstatic. But those kinds of people were, in the end, a minority.
‘Whatever, it’s fine. No one knows anyway.’ With that thought, Layna locked the warehouse doors and silently muttered to herself.
‘Strange… why haven’t those Apostles come to deliver the fragments yet?’ Up on the poolside, Yae-hime wore a puzzled expression. She currently had four Holy Spirit Shards on her. With three more, she would be able to assemble a Sacred Artifact.
A perfect Sacred Artifact could even be stronger than a heavily damaged divine artifact. For example, the Chaos God Ring in her hand. If it were not repaired, it would forever remain at the sub-divine tier. Rather than becoming a true divine artifact.
‘Strictly speaking, the Chaos God Ring has already fallen to the quasi artifact tier.’ Looking at the pitch-black ring in her hand, Yae-hime thought to herself.
Repairing this ring would be far more difficult than gathering seven Holy Spirit Shards.
Being in a phase of rapid growth, she was not particularly focused on that matter. After all, she neither had the time nor knew where to find Chaos Energy to repair the artifact. No matter how she calculated it, collecting Holy Spirit Shards was far more practical.
However, what Yae-hime did not know was that those Apostles were no longer in the Jade Empire. In other words, collecting the remaining fragments was temporarily unrealistic. Unless she deliberately went to the Sky Empire to look for them.
After finishing the refinement of the Holy Water, Yae-hime came down from above with the two little ones.
Layna immediately shot them a massive eye-roll.
“I have something to do later. I’ll be heading back to Jade City for a bit,” Yae-hime said after landing.
“What are you going back to Jade City for?” Lili’s expression changed as she asked worriedly. Given how intense things were right now, returning to the city was clearly an unwise move.
“To have some friends from the church recharge, and to purify this fragment.” As she spoke, Yae-hime took out four fragments from her spatial ring. Three were dull and lifeless, while one emitted a pitch-black aura.
“So that’s what it is,” Lili immediately realized when she saw the fragments. That unusual power her Little Hime had displayed last night had come from these fragments.
Two of them had even been obtained with her help.
“Yes. These fragments are my trump card. They should be a big help with that matter,” Yae-hime said.
“That matter?” Layna asked, confused. She had no idea what Yae-hime was referring to.
“Oh right, I haven’t told you yet,” Yae-hime said, looking at Layna, then glancing at Lili.
The latter gave a gentle nod.
“In a few days, we’re going to counterattack Jade City,” Yae-hime said calmly, staring straight at Layna. It was as if she were talking about something utterly trivial.
But the moment those words left her mouth, it was like a thunderbolt crashing down, leaving Layna’s mind completely blank, unsure how to react. Beside them, Zerene blinked, completely unable to get a word in.
“Really?” Layna finally recovered and asked in a hushed voice.
“Yes. Even pearls aren’t that genuine,” Yae-hime replied with a smile.
“T-That’s just…” Layna clenched her small hands, her body trembling uncontrollably. “That’s way too exciting! Can I take part too?”
When it came to Richard, she had no fondness for him at all. If anything, she harbored a deep-seated resentment toward him. Who asked them to throw her into the dungeon without even bothering to sort out right from wrong in the first place?
“This matter absolutely cannot leak even a hint,” Lili hurriedly warned when she saw how excited Layna looked. Alicia’s rebellion was hardly a secret. Some of the major families who knew the inside story had probably already prepared backup plans. Whoever laughed last, they would side with that person.
What Lili worried about was that the timing of the operation might be accidentally exposed.
“Mhm, I definitely won’t say a word!” Layna nodded in response. Even if Lili had not reminded her, she would not have leaked the slightest bit of information.
“You’ll stay here and handle logistics,” Yae-hime said, lightly patting Layna on the shoulder.
“Logistics, huh…” Layna was clearly a little disappointed.
“With your current strength, going along would just mean watching from the sidelines anyway,” Yae-hime said honestly.
Hearing that, the corner of Layna’s eye twitched. ‘Even if it’s true, you don’t have to say it so bluntly!’ She complained inwardly. Still, she quickly began to feel a bit pleased. The fact that Yae-hime was willing to tell her something this important clearly meant she did not see her as an outsider.
‘Leaving me here for logistics must be because she doesn’t want me taking risks, right? Hehe!’ The more she thought about it, the happier Layna felt.
Zerene, who had been unable to get a word in and did not even know how to, looked utterly bored.
“This isn’t set in stone yet. When it actually starts is still unknown. Just keep it to yourself for now,” Yae-hime said.
Lili gave a small nod.
With the serious matters finished, Yae-hime turned to Zerene and spoke. “Zerene, this is Layna.” She then looked at Layna. “This is Zerene. She’ll be staying in Aoma Village for a while. Make sure you get along.”
“Hello, Zerene,” Layna said with a smile.
“H-Hello, Layna,” Zerene said, hiding behind Yae-hime and peeking out with only half her head visible, looking somewhat shy as she looked at Layna.
That sight made Lili’s small face twitch slightly. ‘Such an act. Where did this little drama queen come from!?’ She absolutely did not believe that this shyness was genuine.
“Like I said earlier, I have something to take care of and need to head back to the city,” Yae-hime said. As she spoke, she gently patted Zerene on the head. “I’ll leave her in your care.”
Before she even finished speaking, Zerene hurriedly grabbed Yae-hime’s hand. “I don’t want you to go!”
In this place, the only one who gave her any sense of closeness was the breathtakingly beautiful presence right in front of her.
“Don’t mess around!” Lili almost instantly rushed over and forcefully knocked Zerene’s hand away.
“You hit me?” Zerene looked at the slightly reddened back of her right hand. Her expression grew serious, and a surge of energy began to stir within her. It looked like she was about to fight Lili.
At that moment, Yae-hime immediately stepped in to mediate. After quite some effort, the two little ones finally made up again. With a bit of soothing, Yae-hime left the church.
“Those two troublemaking little rascals,” she sighed softly along the way, sounding rather exasperated.
Aoma Village was still very quiet. Everyone was doing a good job staying at home. After searching for a while, she found Angelica.
“Princess, you’re done with your work?” Angelica’s face immediately lit up with a smile the moment she appeared.
“More like I came out for some fresh air,” Yae-hime said with a wry smile. She had only one purpose in coming to find Angelica.
