Leon was alarmed as he stared at the notification on his smartphone with wide eyes. ’Holy sh*t!’

For a brief moment, he panicked but then he sighed and opened the message. ’I can’t avoid it, so why not?’

The message unfurled before him.

["You motherf*cking, cowardly, sick f*ck wimp!"]

She started with a string of curses that made Leon freeze, wondering if this was the same Sergeant Tyla that he knew.

Then she calmed down.

["You can’t avoid me, not after what we did. You took my virginity you bastard! You think I’m just going to wake up and forget that?"]

Leon cringed reading the message, but he placated himself and continued reading with a look of resignation on his face.

["Whether you like it or not, we’re already a couple. You may run, but you can’t run forever. No matter where you run to, even to the end of the world, I’ll always find you. I want you to remember that, got it?!"]

["As for your love, I won’t even beg for it. I love you, and you reciprocated by having sex with me, so you can’t avoid me. Haha, you’re trapped."]

Leon envisioned her laughing maniacally like some villain and it left him feeling weirdly unsettled.

["Don’t you dare have sex with another woman! Please, I’ll feel devastated. Damn it, why am I even begging you???"]

["Now listen and listen carefully. Mr. Man, I’m yours and you’re mine. There’s no escaping it, its fate. If you ever try to sleep with another woman or a b*tch seduces you, your penis will refuse to rise!"]

Leon felt a chill crawl down his spine. ’Is that a curse?’

Leon felt unsettled after reading the full message. ’Why does this sound like a threat?’

Knowing Tyla, Leon could easily imagine her saying all of this to his face though he knew that inside, she was just acting tough. And this was part of what made him feel complex about the whole situation.

After what they did back in Leviathan Quay and how much she helped his friend, Leon did have to admit that since then he felt something for her.

But what he wasn’t sure of was how deep this feeling went.

Was it Thomas Riley who developed the feelings, or was it him, the real Leon Ardent?

Heck, without his full memories, Leon didn’t even know who he truly was and this was part of why he wanted to bottle up all his feelings.

He didn’t want to make promises only to disappoint her after becoming a B Rank Ascended and recovering all his memories, realizing that he was a different person from who he thought he was. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

It was a paradoxical situation.

Sometimes, Leon felt like he was overthinking it but that was inherently who he was. Inside, he was an overthinker.

Overthinking was what made him who he was, it was what enabled him to always think outside of the box.

But in this situation, Leon didn’t know if it was good or bad.

His hand hovered on his smartphone as he hesitated on whether he should send a reply, maybe a sorry?

In the end, he pushed his smartphone aside without sending a reply.

Instead of hastily sending a half-hearted reply, he would rather leave the situation as it currently was and let it develop naturally.

If Tyla stayed persistent and he later discovered that what he felt for her was genuine and was deepening, he would throw all consequences aside and jump into the train with her. Afterall, he had always been a risk taker.

But if he also realized that what he felt was not genuine along the line, though he’ll feel guilty about it, Leon also won’t hesitate to tell her the truth.

Afterall, he didn’t want to tie down her life with a fake promise of hope.

Leon sighed. ’What does she even see in me that she’s so persistent about?’

Leon grabbed a bottle of distilled water from his fridge and drank it all in one gulp to quench his feelings.

Inside, he kept on lamenting till Butler finally returned to the shelter.

With a slight grinding sound, the top of the shelter pulled down as the familiar Truck drove inside dragging 4 heavy crates behind it.

Seeing this through the footage, Leon stood up.

’It’s time to start work’.

He quickly went to the water sink in this living room’s bathroom where he watched his face with water to drive away his drifting thoughts and clear his head.

After that, feeling better, he finally walked towards the workshop area where Butler already drove the Truck towards.

The reason why Leviathan Quay airdropped 4 heavy crates this time was because his next project was going to be another crazy milestone in his journey towards becoming a fully-equipped D Rank Field Engineer.

After the past 2 weeks of working on both the Zerphyr-7 Stealth Reconnaissance UAV and the Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame, he finally switched targets towards his next main project as a D Rank Field Engineer to complete the trio- the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone.

For the next few days to a week, this was going to be his main project.

The only problem was that the moment Leon stepped into his workshop, he realized something. "Uh... this space won’t be enough to hold both the Zerphyr and the Sentry".

He scratched the back of his head. "Should I expand the workshop deeper?"

"Or should I temporarily fly the Zerphyr-7 Stealth Reconnaissance UAV outside...?"
