Long Rui’s voice had alarmed the guarding demons outside; the cell door rumbled, and some demons with light blue skin and scales walked in.

These demons had human-like upper bodies and fish-like lower bodies; they were Merfolk.

The leader, a girl wearing a crown and holding a scepter, clearly the leader of these Merfolk, differed from ordinary Merfolk as her skin was light-blue, but everything else was identical to humans, even her lower body was a pair of agile, athletic human legs.

"A half-blood descendant of the Sun Dragon Clan and Human Race, where did you get the Nanhuang Pearl that’s on your body?" The demons discovered Yue Jinghua’s Sun Dragon Clan bloodline when capturing them; their previous leader was that male Merfolk who was eliminated near the Boundary River earlier.

Seeing the female leader’s sudden inquiry and her appearance similar to Jue Shang’s, a flash of insight struck Yue Jinghua.

The Merfolk Clan, Jue Shang’s Sea Demon Clan, seemed to be a branch of the Merfolk Clan, given the similarity between this female leader and Jue Shang. Could there be a connection?

The water arrow was incredibly sharp and Yue Jinghua, severely injured with no Dark Energy to shield herself, was struck with a bloody gash, blood stained her clothes.

"I was telling the truth; the Nanhuang Pearl was given to me by a Sea Witch much older than you, named Jue Shang, known as a pearl-gathering adept in our Sea Demon Clan centuries ago," Yue Jinghua endured the pain, looking at the Merfolk female leader.

Sure enough, upon hearing Jue Shang’s name, both the female leader and the Merfolk warriors behind her looked astonished.

The female leader hesitated: "You’re lying; you’re Human. Humans are most cunning. Jue Shang was our Sea Demon Clan’s War God; she fell at the Boundary River a thousand years ago."

"Humans may lie, but Killing Flames don’t," Yue Jinghua gathered her breath, a layer of unstable Asura Killing Flame appeared on her body, "I not only met Jue Shang, I inherited her Killing Flames, saving her life."

As soon as Asura Killing Flame appeared, all the Merfolk demons knelt, muttering Sea Beast Language, worshiping Yue Jinghua.

The female leader’s initially wary expression softened greatly.

After Jue Shang’s "fall" at the Boundary River, Jue Xin had lived around East Lin Sea.

Carrying some of the Divine Clan lineage, Jue Xin was gifted since childhood, chosen as the new leader of the Sea Demon Clan.

Jue Xin was the wife of the male leader who Yue Potian had slain earlier.

"Why are you lurking around the Boundary River then?" Yue Jinghua saw the large number of Sea Demon Clan members Jue Xin led, surely planning something.

Since Yue Jinghua was Jue Shang’s savior, she was essentially the benefactor of the Sea Demon Clan, easing Jue Xin’s guard, "I’ll confide in Miss Yue, we’re here for a hostage mission."
