Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1880: The Only One That Can Rival Maria’s Necromancy
-----
"Impressive," Sirius said. "Shall we resume our fight? While everyone else dies, I want to see more of what you can do— Ah, excuse me."
Sirius suddenly fell silent as he noticed two gods approaching him.
"SIRIUS DRACUL!"
"ODIN DECLARES YOU MUST PERISH!"
Two possessed soldiers charged forward—one infused with the power of a Nature God, the other with an Ice God.
Both unleashed devastating attacks and techniques from left and right.
Lucifer felt a surge of conflict.
Should he intervene?
"..."
He watched for a moment and realized just how profound Sirius' power truly was.
Their assaults did no damage at all.
Absorbed.
Every strike was swallowed and converted into more strength for him.
"Well, well, who might you two be? Arborel and… Skadi, hm?" Sirius asked, seizing both gods by the throat. "Please wait patiently. I will come kill you soon enough."
"Damn you, Sirius!"
"Sirius Dracul, die!"
Just as Sirius prepared to end them, both gods detonated their divine power, self-destructing their vessels in a desperate bid to inflict maximum damage.
BOOOM!
BOOOM!
Yet Sirius emerged from the smoke completely unscathed.
"Well, isn't that quite embarrassing? They're gods, yet they can't even keep a cool head," Sirius sighed. "Where were we, Sir Lucifer?"
"He's a complete monster…! Just how much has he prepared?!" Lucifer thought, glancing into the distance. "Maria and the others are still handling the rest of his family. I have to hold him here as long as possible!"
Tap, tap.
He felt a light tapping on his broad shoulders.
"Well, sir, will you continue our battle, or should I kill you right now?" Sirius asked. "Ah, look at the sky. We're drawing closer to Umbralheim. This formation draws power from that world. The nearer we get, the stronger the formation becomes… and the more it will gradually consume this entire world."
"What?!" Lucifer looked down and saw the now clearly visible formation across the wilderness surrounding the city.
A black and red miasmic fog spread in all directions—not killing life outright, but mutating everything into the twisted, crimson, bizarre forms native to Umbralheim.
"Truly, it's a work of art," Sirius said. "I prepared this formation many years ago and have been planting its cores across the world for centuries. No matter how much you prepared, you could never have stopped it."
"Are you sure about that?!" Lucifer roared, slamming his full strength downward.
BOOOM!
Sirius crashed through dozens of houses and temples. Statues of the gods toppled onto him, only for his small frame to rise again, kicking aside boulders and brushing dust from his suit.
"Certainly, that's a substantial boost in power…" Sirius remarked, standing tall as his Seven Martial Souls flared even brighter. "Let's see the full extent of the revived Dragon King!"
RUMBLE!
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
The two titans collided across the skies. Even in his perfect form, Lucifer struggled, yet each blow he dealt and received deepened his understanding of his new state of Harmony as he allowed the Essence of Yin and Yang to flow freely through him.
Still, he knew Sirius had not yet revealed even a fraction of the unfathomable power cultivated over thousands of years.
"Maria, please hurry!"
Meanwhile, high above, amid the countless "floating islands" formed from shattered chunks of the Empire of Light, an intense war raged.
Odin's forces—gods possessing dozens of soldiers—fought fiercely against both the Vampires and Maria's army.
At the same time, the Vampires, led by Annette and Hercules, clashed with the gods and Maria's troops.
Maria worked desperately to balance her allies and forces between the two sides, ensuring they weakened each other as much as possible.
To be honest, Maria had to admit this war felt far more complicated than the one on Olympus.
Though it still fell short of the sheer scale of the conflict in Murim.
Nonetheless.
She now faced her true archnemesis in the art of Necromancy.
The only one capable not just of matching her power but surpassing it.
And even now… that remained an undeniable fact.
"Her Necromancy is still better than mine, huh?"
Most would call the thought insane.
Maria had evolved and grown tremendously since their last battle.
Surely she has caught up by now.
Yet even as she closed the gap, Annette continued to unveil more astonishing skills, spells, and techniques beyond anything Maria could imagine.
This was the result of accumulated knowledge and relentless training across thousands of years.
The Horsemen of Famine and Conquest had been the youngest—and also the most foolish and impulsive.
It made sense that Maria and her allies had managed to kill them.
But the Horsemen of Death and War existed on an entirely different level.
"{Supreme Necromancy}: {Nether Realm of Endless Undead Reincarnation}"
TRUUUM!
A colossal dominion rose around Annette in an instant. The world around her transformed into a netherworld of dark caves, brimstone, and endless undead pouring forth.
Black fog spread in all directions. No matter how many fell, they revived immediately.
"This is like my Anubis Transformation…" Maria thought. "But it has no time limit! How incredible… Despite being a bitch I hate, I have to admit I admire her strength."
When Thor had attacked and destroyed the palace, Maria had extended her Void Aura to shield everyone inside and swiftly teleported them into her Soul Realm.
Even the nobles she had intended to execute were spared for now—she would judge them later.
"This level of indiscriminate slaughter isn't my style. Though after what I did in Murim and Olympus, maybe I'm being a hypocrite."
Maria's Undead Army, empowered by Nightmares, tore through Annette's forces… until the Vampire raised one skeletal hand.
"{Abyssal Shadow Sacrifice}: {Thousandfold Endurance}"
Her hand ignited in nether flames. Power surged through hundreds of her Undead, rendering them incredibly difficult to destroy.
Maria's troops had to strike dozens of times before felling even one—only for it to revive instantly.
In response, Maria summoned dozens of her latest creations from Necroterra: powerful Death Sovereigns.
They appeared as titans of pure death fog, yet possessed highly evolved bones, muscles, skin, and organs.
Each had only a single red eye and nothing else on their faceless forms. They moved with terrifying speed, unleashing explosive, devastating attacks.
The endurance-boosted undead fell rapidly.
This time, Maria countered in kind.
FLAAASH!
Annette's expression twisted with irritation. Her Undead no longer revived endlessly—Maria had bound their souls directly to her own.
She displayed the captured souls before absorbing them into her Shadow Realm.
"Impressive, but you'll need more than that, Annette."
"Heh… You're underestimating someone of my age, little child? Behold true Necromancy!"
Annette raised both hands skyward. Dozens of black magic circles appeared as thousands of undead fused together.
And then…
"{Abyssal Shadow Sacrifice} + {Supreme Necromancy} = {Aberrant Outer God's Corpse Fragment Summon}!"
"...?!"
Maria watched in shock as Annette sacrificed every undead instead of merging them, summoning something far more aberrant and powerful.
A gigantic black tentacle burst from a spatial rift, lined with dozens of crimson eyes that glared at Maria.
Each eye unleashed constant curses upon her body and soul!
"Ungh!"
This was merely the gaze of a fragment of an Outer God's corpse—yet it bypassed her immunities and resistances with terrifying ease.
