Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 37: Trouble At The Inn (2)
Chapter 37: Trouble At The Inn (2)
"How about we refund you ten times the amount you paid?" the manager said as he chuckled. There was no way mortals like them would refuse such temptation.
"I’m sorry, we don’t need your money. We aren’t leaving this room," Kaidros said coldly.
The crowd were shocked by Kaidros’s determination and arrogance to reject the Ignis Clan of the Soran Empire. They were just mere mortals and had such audacity.
The young man, who was called Young Master Leo, was already getting frustrated by this. It was telling through his expressions, and the manager also noticed this.
Then the manager seemed to have made a decision. "Take this hundred taels of Origin Gold. This should be enough to take care of the damages and everything." The manager threw a sack of gold towards the ground in front of Kaidros and the rest.
It was this action that triggered Drake’s anger, as he saw the lowly look that the manager was giving them. He felt like bringing out the Origin Stone of superior grade and using it to slap the manager, but he knew doing this would put them in the eyes of everyone, and it could be that the whole Origin Continent would start hunting them.
Kaidros, we aren’t leaving the room, no matter what they say, Drake said to him telepathically.
"I’m sorry, we didn’t say we are poor to take this your weasel money. We aren’t leaving the room because first come, first served," Kaidros turned to the manager, saying this while Drake nodded at it.
The manager, who was already thinking of silently killing Kaidros and everyone and taking his money back after this had settled, did it all because of Young Master Leo. He didn’t want to provoke his wrath.
"Thank you, you can take the... Wait, what did you say?" The manager, who had thought they would agree, was shocked by the sudden rejection again, looking at Kaidros with confusion.
Young Master Leo looked at Kaidros with anger—one could feel the killing intent he had.
"What’s happening here that caused this commotion?" a female voice resounded, calming everyone’s heart. Young Master Leo, who had killing intent, had already changed his expression, a smile appearing on his face as he tried to keep his smile.
Everyone turned from Drake and his crew toward where the voice came from. Behold, they saw a young lady—not too tall, not too short, not too fat, and not too thin. Everything about her looked perfect. Even Drake was in wonder about this because he had never felt such an aura from someone.
Her hair was black. As for her eyes, he couldn’t tell, as the young lady was covered with a veil, giving her a mysterious aura. No one knew her face or age due to the veil. She wore a silver-light dress as everyone felt her gaze scanning the room.
When Drake saw her, he would say that he was a bit surprised and amazed by her aura and beauty. He appreciated it, but he noticed that he didn’t truly feel the urge to create a harem or add her to his.
This surprised Drake himself as he wondered if something was going wrong with him.
"What’s going on here?" the young lady asked once again. It was at this time everyone regained themselves, but the problem was—who was going to talk? They dared not offend the Young Master of the Ignis Clan for someone they hadn’t known.
But Drake watched this, as he had his eyes on the so-called Young Master Leo and saw that when the young lady appeared, this young master was behaving coolly, making sure he looked presentable. And Drake wouldn’t want to miss such an opportunity.
He told Kaidros to spill the beans and make it look touching.
The young lady was baffled by the silence of the crowd until—
"Young lady, I can give details of what happened here," Kaidros’s voice rang out, and immediately it did so, the crowd were shocked as they looked at him. Was this young man still trying to anger the young master of the Ignis Clan? freewebnσvel.cøm
When Young Master Leo saw this, he tried signaling Kaidros to keep his mouth shut, while Kaidros pretended not to notice this. His master had made orders which he should follow.
"Young lady, we are being bullied here as we rented a room here. Now, because this young man is from the Ignis Clan, we are forced to be chased out of the inn," Kaidros said solemnly, with a voice that invoked sympathy.
Everywhere fell silent after this. They all shook their heads—it’s unlikely that this mortal would survive today.
Drake nodded silently at the words of Kaidros, but he looked at the young lady, wondering what she would do—and she didn’t fail his expectations.
"Young Master Leo, I never thought you would be such a person that makes use of their influence to bully mortals," the young lady said coldly in disdain. As for Young Master Leo, he forced a smile on his face as he tried defending himself, but there was nothing he could do.
"Don’t worry, you are under my care and protection. I want to see if Young Master Leo has the audacity to hurt someone under my care," the young lady said as she turned to Kaidros.
"Thanks for upholding justice," he smiled. It was then the young lady put her gaze on Draco, as she was entranced by his cute and childish face.
Drake felt it and knew something bad might really happen...
"Can I carry him?" the young lady asked.
"He doesn’t like to be carried by others," Kaidros said, while Drake flinched back in accordance with his words.
When the young lady heard this, she was a bit sad. "Then until next time," she giggled.
The matter of the inn was settled within a few minutes. Kaidros excused himself as he headed out of the inn, while the young lady’s gaze was still on Drake’s childish face—it was as if she should kidnap him.
