Chapter 104: Battling with the Dragon Eater (1)
"Who... are... you!?"
Drakion’s only response was his figure vanishing—appearing instantly before the Dragon Eater. Even he didn’t know what his eyes had become—eyes that struck such fear and disbelief into the heart of the Dragon Eater.
Drakion’s fist thrust forward, slamming into the Dragon Eater’s mouth with crushing force, sending the behemoth hurtling through the air. It crashed into the ground, the impact thundering like an avalanche. Its mouth had fragmented under the sheer power of Drakion’s blow—shattered and broken. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
And yet, there was no blood.
A second later, its mouth regenerated—whole, uninjured, as though untouched. The Dragon Eater’s regenerative ability was monstrous, defying logic and common understanding.
But pain had cleared its thoughts. That blow brought it clarity—the realization that Drakion could kill him.
"Even though you have those eyes... and the Progenitor Dragon’s Bloodline..." the Dragon Eater muttered, eyes gleaming with hunger, "when I eat you... I wonder how many changes will awaken in me. Perhaps I’ll become the strongest Dragon Eater!"
It burst into maniacal laughter.
"I wonder what it would feel like!"
With that, it charged forward, shrieking with wild fury. Tentacles surged from its gaping maw—razor-sharp appendages that transformed into vicious weapons, poised to pierce through all creation.
Drakion merely snorted, raising his fist.
"Devouring Art: Devourer Strike."
As his fist moved, it was as though the world itself moved with him. A monstrous Devouring Aura surged around his arm, spiraling into his blow.
BOOM!
A blinding flash erupted.
The onlookers saw no movement—only the aftermath. The Dragon Eater’s tentacles, once so terrifying, were now exploding into fragments—blasted apart mid-attack.
Gasps echoed.
The crowd stood in utter shock. How had Drakion grown so strong? What power now surged through his veins?
The Dragon Eater growled, its severed tentacles twitching—and then, healing. As they regenerated, they lunged once more.
Drakion narrowed his eyes.
"It seems I’ll have to erase them completely."
His left eye began to spin, the golden halo fang within it glowing fiercely—radiating a hunger that eclipsed death itself.
"Abyssal Eye: Abyssal Flame."
From the eye, a golden flame erupted—not just burning the tentacles, but devouring them. It was a ravenous fire, greedier than hell, consuming the flesh with a hunger that mocked the void.
The Dragon Eater froze.
It recognized that flame.
Without hesitation, it severed its own tentacles, cutting off the corrupted limbs before they could be fully consumed.
"I was right... it’s that power..." the Dragon Eater muttered, staring at Drakion with dread.
Then it countered.
"Golden Dragon Art: Golden Heaven-Splitting Claw!"
A golden dragon claw appeared, vast as a mountain. It soared upward, then crashed down, a cataclysmic strike aimed to split heaven in two. Golden energy roared through the air, tearing space asunder, suppressing everything in its path as it descended upon Drakion.
Drakion’s lips curled in disdain.
He raised his right hand.
"Blade Dragon Art: Scythe Slash."
In that instant, his left arm transformed—shaped into the curve of a scythe. With a swift, brutal motion, he slashed.
A pure scythe strike, glowing with spectral energy, tore through everything. The golden dragon energy shattered under the blow, cleaved in half—an explosion rocked the battlefield.
But Drakion wasn’t done.
He raised his left hand—now entirely mechanical, gleaming like some ancient war machine. Like Iron Man’s gauntlet, a hole in his palm glowed with condensed power.
Without pause, he fired.
A beam of devastating Originat energy shot out—like a lance of divine judgment—hurtling toward the Dragon Eater.
Roaring, the Dragon Eater spread its wings wide, using them as a shield. The blast collided with them in a violent flash of energy, shaking the heavens themselves.
The Progenitor Devouring Dragon Bloodline within Drakion surged wildly—allowing him to seamlessly wield the other Draconic bloodlines, simultaneously and effortlessly.
"Golden Dragon Art: Metallic Starfall!"
In the next instant, a storm of golden metallic shards materialized in the air above the Dragon Eater. Their gleaming tips spun downward—all aimed at Drakion like celestial spears.
They hurled toward him at breakneck speed.
"Blade Dragon Art: Scythe Vortex!"
Drakion extended both palms forward. A vortex erupted before him—not an ordinary swirl of wind, but a terrifying spiral infused with scythe aura, a whirling reaper that annihilated anything it touched.
He directed the Scythe Vortex to consume the oncoming metallic shards, its deadly currents tearing them apart before they could reach him.
Meanwhile, as he clashed with the Dragon Eater, something gnawed at Drakion’s mind—the techniques being used.
These weren’t generic abilities. They were Draconic Arts—ancient and rare. And yet the Dragon Eater wielded them as though they were its own.
"Does this mean the Dragon Eater can use the abilities of the Draconic Souls it has devoured?" Drakion thought, eyes narrowing as the vortex tore through the metallic storm.
But he wasn’t finished.
He thrust his hands forward again.
"Blade Dragon Art: Scythe Dragon Vortex!"
The vortex twisted violently, a dragon’s roar echoing from within its depths. Suddenly, it took the form of a spectral dragon made of swirling blades—a dragon swimming through the void, charging directly at the Dragon Eater.
The Dragon Eater didn’t flinch. It stood tall, letting the vortex consume it whole.
"Golden Dragon Art: Adamant Dragon Shell!"
The crowd looked on, wide-eyed in awe and terror. The battle between Drakion and the Dragon Eater didn’t appear to be destroying the surroundings—but in truth, the city had never been in more danger.
What few buildings remained standing—despite being damaged—were instantly dissolved into dust the moment the next shockwave burst out from the vortex’s rage.
As the Scythe Dragon Vortex devoured the Dragon Eater, a radiant golden light suddenly blazed from its center.
BOOM!
An explosion erupted, tearing apart the vortex.
When the dust settled, the Dragon Eater stood unharmed.
"It seems I was right..." Drakion muttered, frowning.
His gaze locked onto the gleaming golden scales that now covered the Dragon Eater’s body.
A/N:
Well... how do I put this? Disappointed.
Yes, disappointed, because by now I was expecting to be blasted with questions—about the MC’s transformation, the implications, the lore... hoping someone would draw a connection, a similarity, something.
Anyway, I’m open to all questions.
