Rebirth: The New Bride Wants A Divorce-Chapter 205: Sunset kiss
"Pff... pff... hahahaha!"
Anna burst into uncontrollable laughter as she flipped through the photos she’d taken of Daniel during their carousel ride.
The cute bunny ears perched on his head were doing their magic. Not even his sharp dominance or intimidating aura could hide how ridiculously adorable he looked.
Daniel’s lips twitched as he watched her swipe and laugh like she’d just discovered pure gold.
"Laugh as much as you want, wifey," he drawled. "But once we get home, you’ll be crying my name."
Anna froze mid-laugh and shot him a deadly glare.
Daniel chuckled, amused at how fast her smile disappeared. But what he said was true. She might tease him mercilessly now, but later, he’d reclaim his pride.
Anna, however, wasn’t done. She leaned closer, stretching her lips in a smirk. "But you liked it, didn’t you? Those ears made you look cute."
The proudness instantly drained from Daniel’s face once again, letting Anna burst into laughter, ignoring his warning like it was background noise.
After leaving the amusement park, Daniel drove them to the seaside. Now they sat on the soft sand, shoes off, breeze brushing their skin as they waited for the sun to set.
"By the way," Anna said, slipping her phone back into her pocket, "I didn’t expect you to be this thoughtful about the date. I’m... impressed."
Daniel chuckled. Anna complimenting him was the last thing he expected today.
All thanks to Henry, who arranged everything at short notice. If not for him, Daniel would’ve probably just stayed home and cuddled her all day.
Maybe I should give him a bonus, Daniel mused, hearing Anna praise him for the tenth time.
Meanwhile... inside the office...
Henry, who was swamped with paperwork on his one day off, suddenly sneezed.
"Haa—! Why is my Sunday this busy?" He cried dramatically, slamming a folder shut. "All I wanted was to spend time with my wife and bake a cake!"
He sniffed, glaring at the mountain of files.
"Boss, I’m never forgiving you for this... wuuuhuuuu..." His complaints echoed through the empty office as he continued to suffer on Daniel’s behalf.
Back on the seaside, Daniel’s eyes suddenly glistened.
"It’s time," he announced mysteriously.
Anna blinked, confused. She had assumed he meant taking pictures of the sunset. But before she could ask, Daniel turned toward her, cupped her face gently, and leaned in.
Her breath hitched and her eyes fluttered shut on instinct.
What is he—? And then she felt it.
His lips. Soft and warm, confidently kissing her fully, without hesitation.
Anna’s heart somersaulted. She knew he might do something romantic but she hadn’t expected this. Not here. Not now. Not with the entire horizon melting into gold behind them.
But then—
Click.
Click. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Anna’s eyes snapped open. She turned her head and saw Daniel holding his phone up, smiling widely admiring the pictures he’d just taken.
Pictures of them kissing with the sunset beautifully framing their silhouettes.
Anna gaped watching him grin.
"Perfect," he said proudly. "Now we have proof of our first sunset kiss."
She stared at him in utter disbelief. He had kissed her—just to take pictures?
Anna didn’t know whether to melt or strangle him.
Maybe both.
But soon a warm softness spread through Anna’s chest when she noticed how happy he looked.
She couldn’t remember the last time she had seen Daniel like this—so content, so unguarded, almost glowing.
Back then, in her past life together, they barely spent any time alone. If not for her parents’ visits or some formal obligation, she would rarely see him smile, certainly never like this.
Yet here he was now, looking at their photo with the expression of a man who had just received the world. And instead of worrying about what could’ve been... Anna felt strangely at peace knowing what was happening now.
"It’s strange," she muttered before she could stop herself, "to see you acting like a teenager in love."
The word slipped out before she even realized it.
Love and froze Daniel instantly.
He might have been bold and straightforward about wanting her, about desiring her, about claiming her as his wife...But love was different.
Love was heavier. It wasn’t something he threw around casually or maybe it was something that could happen overnight.
Who knew?
Anna swallowed, suddenly aware of what she’d said. BBut when she dared to look at Daniel again, she noticed that he was staring at her quietly.
His eyes softened by the faint orange glow of the setting sun, held something she couldn’t quite decipher.
Something tender.
Something real.
Something dangerous enough to make her heart skip.
And for the first time, Anna wondered... Had she accidentally spoken the truth?

Meanwhile, Ethan spent his entire evening at the park, quietly watching the children run around and play.
Their laughter echoed through the air, light and carefree. This was a stark contrast to the childhood he once had and the one he wished he could have experienced.
Ethan had always been urged to live like a normal kid, but insecurity held him back.
Children his age used to mock him because of his parents’ divorce. They teased him, saying it was his fault they split. And when they weren’t blaming him, they ignored him— pushing him aside until he finally learned to fight back.
"How I wish my life had been this easy," he murmured under his mask, watching a boy chase bubbles across the grass.
Sitting there, with his heart slowly returning to normal after the fight with his father, Ethan finally felt the tightness in his chest ease.
The fresh air helped. The laughter helped.
And most importantly, being away from that suffocating house helped.
Ethan was just about to leave when something caught his eye.
A woman was sitting on the farthest bench, her posture relaxed as she watched the children play. Her lips curved into a soft smile.
Kathrine.
Ethan blinked. Don’t tell me she’s stalking me now.
The thought came instinctively; recalling her showing up on his blind date last time had already left him suspicious.
But as he continued watching her, he realized something.
She wasn’t looking at him. Not even glancing his way. Instead, she was genuinely admiring the children completely lost in her own world, unaware of his presence entirely.
And for some reason... that surprised him more than if she had been stalking him.
Meanwhile, Kathrine, aware of the pair of eyes lingering on her, smiled faintly. But she jolted the moment a voice spoke right beside her.
"Are you stalking me, Miss Kathrine?"
