“Then what are we waiting for?” Alien Beast Taihao suppressed its excitement and said eagerly, “While we have this opportunity, the three of us should go in together, coordinate with the spatial lifeform, and take down the Neutron War Star.”

Specter Taihao and Technology Taihao directly ignored Alien Beast Taihao’s suggestion and paid it no mind at all.

“Who do you think will ultimately win this war?” Specter Taihao asked.

After a brief silence, Technology Taihao answered, “I do not know. The intelligence on hand is insufficient. The spatial lifeform’s method of attack, its defensive capability, as well as the Neutron War Star’s countermeasures and so on, I know none of it clearly. But I have an intuition. I think that at this moment the two sides are roughly evenly matched. To decide victory or defeat will likely take a very long time. Hm… at least three hundred years.”

“Then, do we take action?” Specter Taihao asked.

“Wait a bit longer,” Technology Taihao replied. “There are some things I still have not figured out. I am working hard to collect data. Once I finish this task, we will then decide whether to act.”

“Alright,” Specter Taihao replied somewhat helplessly.

The place grew quiet once more. The three Taihao Civilizations that had arrived stealthily showed no movement or intent, as if they were merely simple spectators. Yet in secret, who knew how many considerations and tradeoffs, how many schemes, were coursing rapidly.

“I have more or less figured out the spatial lifeform’s method of attack. By some unknown means, it has confined the Neutron War Star within a zero-dimensional world. The zero-dimensional world is striving to assimilate the Neutron War Star, attempting to make the Neutron War Star a part of itself. But as an extreme stellar body, a neutron star has an exceedingly high density, and correspondingly its unit energy is all the stronger. Therefore this zero-dimensional world has been unable to assimilate the Neutron War Star for the time being. The Neutron War Star, for its part, is striving to break through the constraints of this zero-dimensional world and return once more to the three-dimensional main universe. Simply put, the spatial lifeform’s method of attack this time is similar to the weapon it used in the previous clash with the Neutron War Star. Both are dimensionality-reduction weapons. It is just that last time it reduced it to two dimensions, and this time it is reduced to zero dimensions.”

“What are the odds of victory?” Specter Taihao asked immediately.

“Roughly… fifty-fifty. This is only a conclusion based on the intelligence currently available. After I obtain more intelligence, this conclusion may still change,” Technology Taihao answered, then continued to peer into the mysteries on the distant battlefield.

“What strikes me as very odd is that I cannot find the energy source for the dimensionality-reduction weapon. As an existence at the level of a Level 6 civilization that has initially grasped space, my understanding of space, though inferior to that of the spatial lifeform, should not be so poor that I cannot even find their energy source. This is very strange, very strange indeed.”

“Hm. So that is how it is. I have found its energy source. So that is how it is… Using the dozen or so surrounding stars to construct such a zero-dimensional space, using the energy of these stars to suppress the Neutron War Star… What a grand undertaking. But I find it puzzling. Would this be something the spatial lifeform could accomplish? It should not have that capability. Otherwise, why was it almost killed last time?”

“I have found the spatial lifeform’s energy source… I judge that this energy source is unstable. Therefore now the odds between the Neutron War Star and the spatial lifeform are sixty to forty. The Neutron War Star has a sixty percent chance of winning.”

“Then, do we take action?” Specter Taihao asked.

Technology Taihao fell silent. Only after several hours did it give an answer. “Take action. We cannot allow the situation to continue developing like this.”

“I have been waiting for this moment for a long time!” Alien Beast Taihao cheered. Its colossal body moved and immediately entered curvature space, racing toward the central battlefield. But it had only sustained curvature space flight for an instant before being forced to exit curvature space due to interference from Specter Taihao. Somewhat puzzled, it asked, “Specter, why are you stopping me?”

“What are you going there to do?” Specter Taihao asked with some anger.

“To help the spatial lifeform deal with the Neutron War Star,” Alien Beast Taihao answered in some bewilderment. “The Neutron War Star is right there, so how else are we supposed to deal with it?”

“Who told you to deal with the Neutron War Star?” Technology Taihao’s transmitted message carried a chill. “We are going to help the Neutron War Star against the spatial lifeform. The Neutron War Star cannot be destroyed here, cannot be destroyed by the spatial lifeform. It must continue to exist and maintain peak combat power. It must be destroyed by Xiao Yu with his own hands. Only then can our Taihao Alliance receive the favor of the unseen’s blessing of fortune and be promoted to a Level 7 civilization. Since we already know the spatial lifeform’s method of obtaining energy, cutting off its energy supply will be a simple matter. Specter, you go destroy Star Number Three. “So that was their plan. Those three actually intend to help the Neutron War Star against the spatial lifeform. Truly hateful. Last time I spent great effort and braved danger to lure the Arboreal Race Alien Beast to its death. This time, even if two Arboreal Race Alien Beasts came, it would be of no use.”

“I do not know whether the Taihao Alliance truly failed to discover that I am hiding here, or whether they discovered I am hiding here but chose to ignore me. Just then, a sudden change occurred. The Specter companion knew that the three stars exploded at the same time. Although the light from those stellar explosions had not yet traveled to where the Specter companion was, through certain faster-than-light detection methods, it nevertheless sensed these events in an instant.

What it sensed simultaneously with that was the situation at the center of the battlefield. The Specter companion felt that the spatial fluctuation representing the spatial lifeform’s existence suddenly weakened by a great deal, while the white point of light representing the Neutron War Star brightened in an instant. It was as if it were an electric bulb that previously had no power and now had power.

As its luminosity continued to rise, something special was occurring upon the body of the spatial lifeform. The Specter companion could clearly sense that the point which had originally been zero-dimensional suddenly extended its first dimension. It acquired length and became a line. Then gradually, it possessed width and thus became a plane. After recovering from zero dimensions to two dimensions, the Specter companion seemed to hear from the spatial lifeform a sound like tearing silk, as if some existence were being ripped apart. Then the Specter companion felt that the Neutron War Star had obtained its third dimension.

It had fully recovered. Like a newborn sun leaping out from a sea of clouds, it once more began to radiate endless majesty and menace. In the instant it escaped, it suddenly rammed into the spatial lifeform before it, and the spatial lifeform’s body, at this moment, shattered like glass into countless pieces.

This time, it finally failed to escape the Neutron War Star’s strike.

The Specter companion dumbly sensed all of this, its thoughts filled with loss. Yet at that very moment, a message was transmitted into its mind. “Take this fragment and seek out your Main Civilization. After your Main Civilization reaches the category of a Level 6 civilization, with the aid of this fragment, your Main Civilization may be able to research a two-dimensional weapon.”

“Little one, I know it was you who saved me last time. You deceived the Arboreal Race Alien Beast and made it my shield. You have already saved me once, so you need not feel sad for being unable to save me this time.”

“I have failed my commissioner. I was unable to complete the commission. This is an unforgivable error. There is only one end for failing to complete a commission, and that is death. Yet I still feel very guilty in my heart. Therefore I will give you this fragment of my body, hoping it can make your road in the future a bit smoother.”

“Do not worry. In the final moment of my death, I completely destroyed the rest of my body’s fragments. So whether it is the Sweepers Civilization or any other existence, none will be able to analyze technology from fragments of my body. Thus the two-dimensional weapon will be yours alone.”

The spatial lifeform’s message began to break up and finally disappeared completely. The Specter companion knew that the spatial lifeform had utterly died, dissipating into this cosmic void.

“Alright, I will avenge you,” the Specter companion murmured to itself. “Now it is time to seek out my Main Civilization and join with my Main Civilization.”
