Chapter 52

The students around the school entrance looked wistfully at the luxury car disappearing into the horizon while Wang Tingting and Sun Chao wore a stunned expression on their faces.

“Why do I suddenly feel that hanging around Yunxi will get me into Junyao for sure?”

“Me too…”

The two of them rubbed their faces, trying to bring themselves back to reality.

Based on their results, there was no way they could get into Junyao. Both of them had been ousted by Ye Wanting in the competition. Sun Chao was even injured, which meant deduction of points, but Ye Yunxi came in only second last, perhaps she really did have a way.

“Let’s work hard and do a good job with the film then!”

“Uh-huh, let’s go!”

When he parked the car, Di Junxie looked out of the car window nonchalantly.

Neither he nor Ye Yunxi spoke. They were by the sea, the view wasn’t terrible, especially during sunset, like now. The magnificent colors of the setting sun painted the ocean with countless shades of orange and red, it was gorgeous.

Ye Yunxi opened the car door and stepped out.

The ocean breeze whipped her long dark hair as the sun started to sink into the horizon. The red and orange hues graduated into a sternal stretch of blues and purples. The dazzling girl in uniform was a soul-stirring sight as she smiled faintly.

Unconsciously, Di Junxie’s attention became fully fixed on her—from her snow pale skin to her high nose bridge.

Suddenly realizing what he was doing, he furrowed his forehead. Then he opened the car door and stepped out too.

“About this morning… I hope you will consider it.”

He took out a cigarette and, lowering his head, lit it.

It was a simple movement, but it made him look uncompromising and overbearing. When he looked up, his sharp and dark eyes had already been slightly obscured by the thin cloud of smoke. Too seductive.

Tsk. This man… Why was he like a walking rush of hormones? So tempting!

Ye Yunxi’s soft fingertips brushed against her ear as she tried to tame her silky tresses to sit behind it.

“In our household, the rule is to do things early, including looking for a potential wife. I don’t wish to get married just yet; hence, it’s just a contract. What say you?”

“Why don’t you want to get married?”

Given Di Junxie’s qualifications in every aspect, people would have fought over him before he was born, not to mention marriage.

“I’ve said in the past, the Yan Kingdom is still weak. I will not get married until and unless we become a strong nation!”

The man lifted his head slightly and looked at the water’s expanse before them through strands of wind-swept hair. The sun had sunk below the horizon, the seas were growing murky.

Right now, he seemed to be holding back his imposing manner, as though at this moment, there wasn’t a single person in the world as iron-willed as him.

At once, Ye Yunxi’s passion rose within her as well!

She looked in the direction the man was staring at towards the vast, deep ocean and asked, “Then what would you consider strong?”

The man looked up, his neck forming a tight arc. Opening his mouth slightly, he let out a puff of smoke.

Beneath the darkening clouds, the man’s posture was seductive, but also exceptionally unwavering. He lifted his gaze to the heavens, his beautiful face cold and bloodthirsty.

“War is a nation’s great event, and has an impact on the life and death of a soldier, the survival of the nation is nothing to be taken lightly!”

“Yes!”

Ye Yunxi could not help but applaud this thinking!

The strategy of internal peace and being able to guard against external assaults was a strong position indeed!

There was a subconscious gladness in her as if things that had accumulated in her previous life had finally found an outlet in this lifetime. It was like a heavy burden being lifted off her shoulders!

This was real strength!

The Yan Kingdom enjoyed peace and stability within the country, but what about when they stepped out of it?

She had seen too much, and she understood such humiliation.

Internal peace and being able to guard against external assaults—this would make them secure!

“Di Junxie, I’ve underestimated you. You’re not that bad!”
