Chapter 817: Chapter 817: A Visit of Gratitude

Thinking this way, Little Fox felt a bit better and then said to Jiang Xue, "Go outside, someone’s knocking at the door!"

"Someone’s knocking?" Jiang Xue was stunned, she hadn’t heard anything at all. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

However, Little Fox had already turned its back on Jiang Xue. It needed to find a place to vent its frustration.

Seeing that Little Fox was ignoring her, Jiang Xue didn’t think much of it and slipped out of the space.

As soon as she left the space, she indeed heard the sound of someone knocking at the door.

Mr. Yang and his group had been knocking on the door for quite a while without hearing anyone come to open it, and couldn’t help but mutter, "Maybe she’s gone out?"

"It’s possible. In hindsight, we should’ve asked the security first."

"And we don’t know her phone number, otherwise we would’ve called and not waited here for nothing."

"Phone number?" Luo Lan heard Mr. Yang and the others talking, pulled out a slip of paper from her pocket, and said, "I have her number."

"What, you have her number? Quickly, let me see!" Mr. Yang said, looking at the paper in Luo Lan’s hand.

Luo Lan handed the paper over, Mr. Yang took a look at it and instructed his son, "Call this number and see if she’s home."

Just as Mr. Yang was about to make the call, the door next to them opened, and Mrs. Jiang poked her head out and asked, "Who are you looking for?"

"And you are?" Mr. Yang gave Mrs. Jiang a glance and asked.

"My husband’s surname is Jiang."

"Oh, so you’re Mrs. Jiang. We’re here to see Jiang Xue. We’ve been knocking for a while, but no one’s come to open the door."

"You’re looking for my daughter?" Mrs. Jiang was surprised to see Mr. Yang and his group, clearly noting that they were not ordinary people.

"What do you mean, Jiang Xue is your daughter?"

"Yes. If you have business with her, you can tell me directly," Mrs. Jiang glanced at Mr. Yang and said. She couldn’t tell if these people were good or bad, so she wanted to get more information from them.

"Nothing much, I came to thank Jiang Xue. She saved my life earlier. Without her, I might have already met King Yan."

"By the way, since you’re Jiang Xue’s mother, you probably know if she’s home?"

Upon hearing that these people came to thank Jiang Xue, Mrs. Jiang immediately relaxed and said, "Xue’er is probably sleeping."

"Well..." Mr. Yang was unsure what to do. If Jiang Xue was sleeping, calling her would disturb her.

But if he didn’t call, they’d have to wait here. He didn’t mind waiting, but he was worried about tiring out the recently recovered Mr. Yang.

"How about this? Would you like to come in first and have a seat? Xue’er should wake up soon."

"Thank you, Mrs. Jiang, for the trouble." Mr. Yang expressed gratitude to Mrs. Jiang, ready to step inside with their things when Jiang Xue’s door suddenly opened.

Upon hearing the door open, Mr. Yang stopped and turned around. When he saw Jiang Xue opening the door, a smile appeared on his face as he called out, "Jiang Xue!"

"What’s going on?" Jiang Xue looked puzzled at the few people standing at the door. Before Mr. Yang could speak, Mrs. Jiang cheerfully explained, "Xue’er, they said they came to thank you for saving their lives."

Listening to Mrs. Jiang, Jiang Xue felt a bit resigned. She had left so quickly before to avoid such scenarios.

But she hadn’t expected them to track her down at home, leaving her unsure of what to say.

However, since they were already at her door, she couldn’t just turn them away.
