Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets-Chapter 1184: You Can Hold Your Grandchild (11th Update)
Qiangzi fled as if he were running away, afraid that if he were late, Liu Cuixong would drag him to a blind date.
First, he called Tang Yue, but Tang Yue’s phone didn’t connect. Then he called Tang Jun, but that didn’t connect either.
Could it be they’re not at the company?
Qiangzi muttered to himself, hung up the phone, and dialed Mo Weidong again.
Mo Weidong and Wei Jiajie were in Sea City, running Zhongyi Electronics with great success. It was said that now they’re even selling mobile phones, and business is getting better, with substantial dividends each year for Qiangzi and Tang Jun.
Back then, Qiangzi and Tang Jun only invested money without handling anything, and he already felt quite satisfied to receive dividends.
"On vacation? Hurry and come to Sea City." Mo Weidong’s first words were these, urgently saying, "Sea City is getting too busy, and you’ve returned just in time."
"Dongzi, I might have to wait a bit before heading to Sea City."
Qiangzi chatted with Mo Weidong, explaining that Lian Qingyang was getting married soon, possibly needing to go to Jing City earlier. He said, "If there’s anything you need me to do, I’ll surely handle it well."
"You’re going to Jing City? That’s perfect. Our Zhongyi Electronics wants to open a branch there." Mo Weidong had been looking to send Qiangzi to Jing City, and now the timing was perfect.
The two discussed it, and Qiangzi took on the task, saying, "Weidong, don’t worry, I’ll definitely find a place to set up a storefront."
"Alright, I’ll leave it to you." Mo Weidong said cheerfully.
Qiangzi suddenly wondered, "Dongzi, has your mom been urging you to get married?"
"No pressure." Mo Weidong said with gleeful mischief, "But what about your mom? Is she urging you? Qiangzi, I’m not suggesting anything, but you should learn from Jiajie, and your mom wouldn’t urge you either."
Over the years, Mo Weidong got a girlfriend with plans for marriage, but he was too busy, and the girl couldn’t handle it, so they broke up. Devastated, he focused all his energy on the business.
Though Mrs. Mo wanted to urge him to marry, she feared touching on Mo Weidong’s sore spot. Moreover, Mo Weidong is only around twenty-five or six years old, so she let him be.
As for Wei Jiajie, he had so many girlfriends that ten fingers weren’t enough to count them—by the dozen, by calculation—a real headache for the Wei Family, who dared not pressure him to marry. If Wei Jiajie casually brought a girl home, it might be better to leave him as he is now—unable to settle down.
"Forget it; I’m not like you, so I can’t do that."
Qiangzi disapproved of Wei Jiajie’s behavior, unsure how many girlfriends he really had. But every time he went to Sea City and met Wei Jiajie’s girlfriend, it was never the same person.
Dating and relationships, how can you change partners every so often?
If he were to marry or date a girlfriend, he’d want someone for life, like Tang Yue and her spouse, loving and delightful.
After hanging up the phone, Qiangzi wandered the former county town, now a city, boarded a bus, and quickly arrived in Wangjiang City. Compared to before, Wangjiang City is now much more vibrant, with Huayue Forest Park serving as a wonderful spot for citizens to relax, stroll, and go out.
Huayue Forest Park was initially made with heavy investment by Lian He, and the resulting park is extraordinarily beautiful, with a serene environment. Though it’s a man-made forest park, many plants inside are unique to Jiang City; even the design is very distinctive. Wangjiang City’s forest park attracts many for visiting and walking.
As Qiangzi walked through the tranquil park, he wondered if it was just his imagination, but he felt the air here was sweet.
"Ah, the home air is still the best." Qiangzi smiled, leaving everything else behind as he wandered aimlessly through his hometown.
Even the street vendors felt immensely familiar to him.
It was the weekend, and the park was particularly crowded. Suddenly, one scene caught Qiangzi’s eye: an elderly person fell, and a girl helped them up. Her sunny, bright smile made him feel the sun shine brilliantly.
That girl helped the person up, seemingly inquiring if the elder felt unwell, and shortly after, she left.
Qiangzi watched that scene, feeling the world had more good people.
The girl’s appearance didn’t stay with him, but he remembered that radiant smile.
As he walked, explored, he grew hungry, saw a restaurant on the roadside, and ordered a bowl of stir-fried rice noodles with shredded pork and cabbage. The shiny rice noodles emitted an enticing aroma.
Being away for so long, he most missed his hometown’s stir-fried noodles. Although other places also had rice noodles, they just lacked the hometown flavor.
A bowl of fried noodles filled Qiangzi’s stomach.
Seeing the time was getting late, he took a bus home.
"Qiangzi, where did you go?" As soon as Liu Cuixong saw him return, she grabbed his hand, saying, "Qiangzi, come with me tomorrow to meet Miss Xu. She’s so pretty; you’ll surely like her."
"Mom, she might be pretty, but she won’t necessarily like me." Qiangzi touched his face. Compared to Tang Jun, Wei Jiajie, and Mo Weidong, Qiangzi’s appearance was the most ordinary; besides his height and good build, he was barely handsome.
"Who said you aren’t good-looking?" Liu Cuixong reviewed him with pride, "My son is the best looking, the most handsome."
Qiangzi: "Mom, put your hand on your heart." Doesn’t it hurt? 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Nonsense." Liu Cuixong raised her hand and slapped Qiangzi’s hand, saying, "You’re tall and handsome, and you’re a doctor."
"Mom, there are many doctors; I’m just one." Qiangzi couldn’t suppress the twitch in his lips.
Liu Cuixong widened her eyes and retorted, "Being a doctor is great, healing the sick and saving lives—such a noble profession."
Liu Cuixong didn’t care about anything else, as long as she knew Qiangzi had a promising future as a doctor. Liu Cuixong had received countless looks of admiration.
"Qiangzi, marriage is a significant event. I want to hold a grandson. You’re the only son in your father’s family; if you don’t have a son soon, how will the Zhang Family continue its lineage?"
Liu Cuixong earnestly persuaded him.
Qiangzi’s mouth twitched, saying, "Mom, you can hold a grandson-in-law." A grandson-in-law isn’t too different.
"Can a grandson-in-law be the same as a grandson?" Liu Cuixong glared at him, saying, "The grandson-in-law’s surname is Gao, not Zhang."
"Even if the surname is Gao, it still carries half of the Zhang Family’s bloodline." Qiangzi reminded her; it’s Zhang Min’s child, hence Zhang family’s bloodline.
