Rebirth: I Am Not the Movie Queen This Time-Chapter 609 - 607: His Fiancée Is Not to Be Trifled With
"Let’s walk back the way we came, we can definitely find it. I’m sorry, you gave it to me for the first time, and I lost it." Ming Wan felt very apologetic.
Wan Chuchu said, "It’s okay, losing it means it wasn’t meant for you."
"I’m sorry." Ming Wan apologized again, showing her good manners.
Wan Chuchu said, "Then let’s go back."
Ming Wan insisted on retracing their steps, determined to search for the little blue flower. Wan Chuchu couldn’t persuade her otherwise, so she had to pretend to search while actually wandering behind her. Seeing Ming Wan keep going around in circles, Wan Chuchu finally said:
"I seem to remember that before we went for the walk, you didn’t have that blue flower on you anymore."
"Really?" Ming Wan was a bit surprised. "Then maybe it fell in the castle. If it’s there, it will be much easier to find. No wonder I felt so relaxed during the walk just now."
Meaning the flower affected her mood. Wan Chuchu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. This girl really couldn’t stand a bit of imperfection. Adapting to her requires a considerable sacrifice. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
After returning to the castle, Ming Wan dragged Wan Chuchu to the dining room to search there. As soon as they reached the entry, they heard a man and a woman’s conversation inside.
Ming Wan hesitated, unsure if entering would disturb others. Wan Chuchu followed leisurely behind, stopping naturally when she did.
With this hesitation, Ming Wan heard her name being mentioned. She glanced back at Wan Chuchu, who immediately sensed something was wrong and gestured for silence, signaling Ming Wan to listen while she kept watch.
Fortunately, there were no cameras installed here!
After only a minute, Ming Wan’s face turned quite unsightly, her eyes reddening as she hurriedly turned to leave. Wan Chuchu quickly followed.
The two went straight to the room on the second floor, with Wan Chuchu following Ming Wan into her room.
"What happened?" Wan Chuchu asked.
"Let’s leave." Ming Wan said at the same time, her voice choking slightly.
Wan Chuchu was curious about what was said inside that could upset her so much.
Ming Wan turned her head away, clearly not wanting to talk about it. Wan Chuchu sighed, pulled out a tissue, and handed it to her to wipe her tears.
Ming Wan lightly wiped away her tears and only then turned her face back, expressionless, and said, "His fiancée is here."
"Was it her just now talking to the butler in the dining room? What did they say?"
Ming Wan lowered her head slightly, still unwilling to speak, so Wan Chuchu had to give up, saying:
"Wasn’t this inevitable? He’s about to get married; another woman is about to become his wife. In our country, true love has always been one-on-one, with men and women fully devoted to each other.
So, I think Andrew doesn’t truly love you. I speak harshly, and I hope you don’t mind, but what I say is the truth. This Andrew doesn’t love you at all. He’s toying with you, and I have no idea who gave him the courage to ask you to be his mistress!
How big do you think his face is? Consider your own standing – is he even worthy?"
Ming Wan’s tears fell like glistening pearls, and Wan Chuchu was taken aback. Even a beautiful person cries so beautifully, so beautifully that it softened her heart a little.
"He wasn’t like this before. He used to be so good to me, better than anyone apart from my father and brother, always accommodating me, making me happy, thinking of everything for me." Ming Wan murmured.
Wan Chuchu sneered, "Isn’t this how men woo women? He wanted you to fall for him, so naturally, he had to do everything he could to treat you well. But once you were caught in his web, he changed his face."
What a cruel reality!
Ming Wan closed her eyes in sorrow and asked, "Is your lover like that too?"
Er... Wan Chuchu said, "He wouldn’t dare. If he ever asked me to be something like his mistress or showed the slightest hint of it, I’d incapacitate half of him, turn away, and never look back."
Far away in the East, Jiang Kechu suddenly sneezed and shivered, unaware of what had happened.
Ming Wan sighed, "I really envy you, being free to love, able to choose the love you want."
Is this not knowing a blessing while actually being in it? Wan Chuchu wasn’t sure if this phrase applied to Ming Wan. She wasn’t Ming Wan and didn’t know Ming Wan’s true feelings. However, outsiders would surely think of her like this, having a chief father, a Crown Prince brother who planned everything for her...
Wan Chuchu diverted her attention and asked, "Do you want to leave here? If you want to leave, I’ll ask the butler for a car, and we can stay in the city. Tomorrow, we can directly attend Andrew’s wedding."
Recalling the haughty words of that woman in the dining room earlier, Ming Wan bit her lip and nodded, "Okay, let’s leave here."
Wan Chuchu said, "Alright, pack your things; I’ll go to my room to pack mine." With that, she turned and left.
Once inside the room, she immediately took out a mini computer and quickly began typing after turning it on. Finally, she pinpointed the location of the blue flower, 80 kilometers away in the city, beyond the range of eavesdropping and surveillance, so she could only close the computer.
While packing her things, she caught the sound of an argument faintly from her arm.
Wan Chuchu immediately dropped what she was holding and rushed out, seeing Ming Wan’s room door wide open, a tall woman with red hair in a black leather jacket standing with her back to her. Ming Wan was pale, yelling angrily while the woman, aggressive, responded in rapid sentences.
Since they were speaking a foreign language, Wan Chuchu couldn’t understand. She stepped in and asked in English, "What’s going on?"
The leather-clad woman turned her head to look at her, and Wan Chuchu discovered the woman’s face full of contempt and mockery. No wonder Ming Wan was so angry. Her pride wouldn’t allow this treatment. Wan Chuchu stood in front of Ming Wan, shielding her behind her.
The leather woman’s English was surprisingly fluent, her accent very authentic. Wan Chuchu heard it clearly, though the content was truly unpleasant.
"Who are you? Do you also fancy Andrew, hoping to become his lowly mistress?"
"I say, please stop spewing nonsense. You want to be someone’s mistress? Go right ahead, but don’t judge us by your standards. We aren’t as ’liberated’ as you!" Wan Chuchu retorted unhesitatingly.
The leather woman’s eyebrows shot up, and she reached to grab Wan Chuchu’s hair.
It seems foreign women are fond of hair-pulling in a fight! With this thought, she directly grabbed the woman’s hand and forcefully threw her aside.
The leather woman staggered a couple of times, regained her balance, and then drew a small pistol from her waist, pointing it straight at Wan Chuchu.
Seeing the gun, Ming Wan screamed in fear and began to shiver, "I’ll leave here at once. Put the gun away..."
