Rebirth: He Decides to Lie Flat-Chapter 113 - 110 Preliminary Planning
Chapter 113: Chapter 110 Preliminary Planning
Chapter 113 -110 Preliminary Planning
“Why are you so dark?”
Song Jiawen encountered Zhu Zhen at the school gate and at first glance, he looked as if he’d rolled around in a pile of coal, shining dark from his face to his neck.
However…
She stared at his face and took a closer look, then nodded, “Although you’ve gotten darker, your acne is gone, and your skin has improved.”
Zhu Zhen smiled a bit sheepishly as he explained, “My skin is quite sensitive to spicy food, as long as I eat regularly and avoid too much oil and spice, it gets better over time.”
During high school with boarding, there was no time to pay attention to diet. For the sake of studying, there was also no time to be picky about food.
Song Jiawen introduced Yang Dan to him, and then led the three of them to Xinyu Residential Area to find Jiang Yan.
On the way, Yang Dan leaned in and whispered to her, “He looks so fierce, you can tell he must have a bad temper, how do you guys get along with him?”
Fierce?
Bad temper?
Are they talking about Zhu Zhen?
Song Jiawen looked befuddled, staring at Yang Dan in confusion, “How could that be? He’s the most honest one among us, what kind of eyes do you have?”
This is called honest?
He’s like a big man with a dark face two meters tall, isn’t he?
However, Yang Dan knew Song Jiawen well. As long as she got along with someone, in her eyes, there was nothing bad about that person, everything about them was good.
So Yang Dan no longer commented on Zhu Zhen and just kept a bit of distance from him as they walked.
Xinyu Residential Area.
Jiang Yan was currently assembling a laptop. In the morning, he and his partner had inquired about the computer accessories market in Beijing and drove there, spending half a day browsing and purchasing a bunch of components.
“I really didn’t expect that the accessories in Beijing would be cheaper than in Yunzhou.”
It had been two hours since they returned, and his partner was still marveling.
“Didn’t I tell you? In a small place like Yunzhou, components are wholesaled from big cities, and the prices might not even be the lowest.”
Therefore, Jiang Yan decided not to let his partner continue collecting old second-hand computers for now, and instead wholesale components to assemble new ones.
But selling new computers brought one major problem, they had no brand.
In any era, brand is important, and products without a brand are always questioned no matter where they are.
So Jiang Yan thought it over and decided to start with repairing computers. After all, he currently didn’t have the resources to establish a new brand, and even if he did, he didn’t want to bother—it was too tiring and troublesome.
He had just started university and didn’t want to exhaust himself straight away.
Because he couldn’t rent a storefront for now, he thought about hanging a “Computer Repair” sign outside the garage and buying a couple of wooden shelves to place in the living room.
While repairing computers, he would also sell his own assembled no-brand new computers, which would be more trusted than simply selling them on their own.
After all, if he could fix computers, the ones he assembled couldn’t be far off.
He’d start off small like this in the beginning.
“Ask tomorrow if you need a business license or anything to open this kind of repair shop in the residential area. If needed, I’ll take care of the paperwork these next couple days while I’m free, and also get a sign made to hang outside.”
“Alright, leave these miscellaneous matters to me, you don’t need to worry about them.”
As they were discussing, knocking sounds came from outside the door.
Elder Brother Number Two opened the door to let Song Jiawen and the others in, and the small garage living room felt cramped all at once.
However, a long solid wood sofa was placed against the wall, which didn’t take up much space, so after everyone sat down one after another, the room seemed a bit more spacious.
Jiang Yan greeted Yang Dan, then asked Zhu Jin, “When did you arrive?”

“This morning. What are you doing?”
Since there were only a few components left to install, Jiang Yan had not stopped working even as they entered.
“Assembling a computer. I saw the parts weren’t too expensive when I went out today, so I bought some and came back. I’m assembling one for myself first.”
He was a computer science major, and it was essential for him to have a computer at hand.
“You can actually assemble computers?” Zhu Jin’s eyes lit up with surprise, “Can you assemble one for me? Don’t worry, I’ll pay for it.”
She explained with a smile, “Before I came to register for school, my dad wanted to buy me one, but laptops were too expensive, so I didn’t let him. After arriving here, he wanted to get me a desktop, but being new, I was unfamiliar with everything and thought I’d wait until next year. But since you know how to assemble them, I might as well leave it to you.”
After saying this, she remembered to ask, “Is it not troublesome?”
“What’s troublesome about that? We were planning to assemble and sell them anyway. I’ll assemble it for you, and if someone asks where you got it, you could even bring me some business.”
While talking, he smoothly finished assembling the computer in his hands, then powered it on and started it up before plugging in something black, and lines of letters promptly appeared on the computer screen.
Jiang Yan rapidly tapped a few keys on the keyboard with one hand, the letters disappeared, and a progress bar appeared….
Aside from Song Jiawen, Zhu Jin, Zhu Zhen, and Yang Dan watched with great curiosity.
“This is installing the operating system; it’ll be done in a moment.”
He set the computer aside, washed his hands and returned, pointing to a pile of things in the corner and said to Song Jiawen, “Your easel and tools, see if anything’s missing.”
It might be hard to believe, but Song Jiawen, despite her excellent painting skills, had never owned her own easel before; she only ever drew her sketches with a pencil on paper.
Song Qingping was good at traditional Chinese painting, which mostly involved using brushes and ink, and when coming to Beijing, he even gave Song Jiawen a set.
So, when Jiang Yan went out today to check out the computer parts, he specifically asked around for a shop selling painting supplies and took a detour to buy her a set.
“I went to the Fine Arts College today and made five hundred and eighty yuan.”
The others listened with amazement, especially Zhu Zhen, Zhu Jin, and Yang Dan – everyone was still going through the enrollment procedures, yet there you were, already making money at the university.
Jiang Yan was also a bit curious; he had clearly reminded her the night before to get to know her roommates and have fun exploring the campus, so how did she end up making money?
Selling paintings again?
But to sell paintings at Beijing University Fine Arts College… that’s talented!
“Tell us in detail.”
Song Jiawen felt quite indifferent about the easel and such; she walked over, grabbed the bag, and briefly inspected it to find a bunch of brushes inside, with all sorts of sizes, quite complete.
Hmm, not bad, now she could go to the Fine Arts College South Square to sketch when she had time.
She sat back down on her small stool and briefly explained how she made the five hundred and eighty yuan, ending with a note of regret, “Two of them were given away for free, otherwise it would have been more than five hundred and eighty.”
The others watched her with speechless bemusement.
Yang Dan sighed, “How nice, you’ve already found a way to make money before school even starts, unlike me, still totally clueless, no idea where to go to earn living expenses.”
Yang Dan was the late-life daughter of her parents; they were older and had no other source of income besides farming at home.
Her tuition and living expenses were all provided by her brother and sister-in-law, so she had decided early on that she would make her own living expenses whenever she had the opportunity.
Just like Jiang Yan and Jiajia, they too had earned their own tuition.
