Chapter 782: Chapter 782: Interesting

"Angry? If he dares to bully me, I’ll have Mr. Seymour beat him up." Sophie Wilson said, giving Lucy Wells a teasing glance, "But, I’m just worried someone might feel sorry for him at that time."

"No way." Lucy Wells replied straightforwardly, which surprised Sophie Wilson immensely. Wow, who knew Lucy had toughened up so much.

Just as Sophie Wilson was about to compliment her, she heard Lucy Wells whisper, "He wouldn’t get mad at you. He really cares for you as his sister."

Sophie Wilson almost coughed up blood in disbelief, helplessly glancing at Lucy Wells, "I really can’t with you."

So that’s what she meant by no way.

She thought Lucy wouldn’t feel sorry for Kai Bright being beaten.

Lucy is indeed kind-hearted and soft.

Her brother is lucky to have met Lucy.

See, nothing’s happened yet, and Lucy’s already so considerate of him.

He’s definitely found a treasure.

"Oh my, this streetlight is out?" Sophie Wilson looked at the dark alley in exasperation.

The road that was supposed to take Lucy home was blocked by construction boards, and this way around was pitch dark, without a single streetlight.

The key issue is this alley is very narrow; the car can’t fit through.

"It’s fine, I’ve walked past here, it’s just up ahead." Lucy Wells said, "I’ll get off here, you can head back."

"What kind of joke is that?" Sophie Wilson patted Lucy Wells, swiftly got out of the car, and said decisively, "I’m walking you home. Otherwise, if my brother finds out I didn’t see his future wife home, he’ll come beat me up."

"No way." Lucy Wells blushed, her heart beating fast from Sophie Wilson’s teasing, feeling a bit embarrassed, "I’d be worried about you coming back alone."

"Stop worrying. The one who should be concerned about safety isn’t me but rather anyone trying to rob me." Sophie Wilson laughed, pulling Lucy Wells into the alley and escorting her all the way to her doorstep, only leaving when she confirmed through a phone call that she was safely inside.

"Sophie, why don’t you call Mr. Seymour to come pick you up?" Lucy Wells suggested, still worried.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Hanging up now, I’m heading back." Sophie Wilson said, ending the call, and casually strolled out.

It was still the same alley, dark as ever, only illuminated by faint, weak moonlight.

Fortunately, Sophie Wilson had good night vision and walked steadily.

However, as she reached the middle of the alley, she suddenly stopped, a mocking smile appearing on her lips. She spun around swiftly, unsurprised to see two men standing behind her.

Turning her head again, two more men stood at the other end of the alley, blocking both exits.

"What do you want?" Sophie Wilson asked.

"What do we want? Of course... just to play with us brothers..." One of the men sneered maliciously.

A cold light flashed in Sophie Wilson’s eyes, her smile growing wider. Interesting.

——

"Mom, where are we going so late?" Ophelia Wilson asked curiously as she drove.

"To get revenge for you." Chaya Davis wore a strange smile, a mix of triumph and deep-seated hatred making it chilling to behold.

It was fortunate that Ophelia Wilson was driving and didn’t glance over.

"Revenge?" Ophelia Wilson grew more puzzled, "Revenge for what?"

"Ophelia, haven’t you ever wondered who caused all this misery for you?" Chaya Davis asked.
