Chapter 161: Standing Before Her Grave!

Aurora couldn’t help but smile widely, knowing that one more person had learned about her true identity.

The heavy burden that felt like a deadweight on her shoulders slowly lifted.

’Thank you so much, God! Thank you! I really hope Alex can hear me as well, please...’

She prayed while gazing out the car window. However, her expression gradually hardened as she recalled their current location.

Aurora noticed Alex still there, like he was waiting for her, talking on the phone, not far from the car.

Once her expression regained calmness, Aurora quickly exited the car and walked toward Alex. She saw him finishing his call and smiling at her.

Just as she was about to speak, he asked, "Are you done?"

"Yeah, I am all set. Why are we here, Alex?" Although Aurora already knows the answer, she still asks.

Alex ignored her question and asked, "May I know why Danny Hamilton called you this early?"

His voice sounded casual, yet Aurora could easily sense jealousy in his eyes.

"Danny called to confirm something, and he also invited me for lunch at Renata’s restaurant on Monday," Aurora answered and halted before him.

"I see. Alright, let’s go..." he said, taking her hand and leading her down the stone path to the graveyard.

Aurora walked silently beside him, but the closer they got to her graveyard, the louder her heartbeat became.

"Are you going to introduce me to your ancestor?" she asked, playfully trying to ease her nervousness.

Alex nearly chuckled at her words, shaking his head as he glanced at a specific graveyard.

"Hmmm, what do you know? You’re almost right. This person is no longer in this mortal world like my ancestors. I sort of want you to meet Rory. You still remember her name, right?"

’Stupid Alex! How could I forget myself?’ Aurora let out a deep sigh silently.

"Yes, I know. Thank you, Alex, for bringing me here to meet her." She responded with sincerity, feeling grateful.

She finally had the opportunity to visit her graveyard, which she now views as Aurora Spencer’s final resting place.

Aurora stood next to Alex, gazing thoughtfully at the grave before her.

However, when her gaze fell upon her photo on the tombstone, her calmness disappeared instantly.

Trying to put her feelings into words is quite a challenge.

She took a deep breath, attempting to hold back her emotions, as she heard Alex start the introduction by saying she was his wife.

Not long after, she felt her heart warm at Alex’s promise that this would be his last marriage because he didn’t want to disappoint her again.

’I accept, Alex! I won’t be mad at you...’ Aurora replied, hiding her joyful grin.

...

They didn’t stay there for long. Eventually, they decided to leave the graveyard.

Aurora was taken aback when she noticed a car driving into the vacant parking lot. She immediately recognized it; it was her father’s car.

’Dad, are you going to visit me too?’ Aurora asked, feeling an urge to run and hug him as she saw him approaching them.

"Young master, Young madam..." Thomas Moon greeted them with a warm smile. "Did you just visit your grandmother’s grave?" he asked as he turned to Alex.

"No, uncle. But we visited Rory," Alex answered calmly, surprising Thomas Moon at first; soon after, Thomas couldn’t help but smile.

"Thank you, young master, young madam, for visiting my daughter," Thomas said sincerely, "I won’t delay you any further... I will visit her, too." He bowed slightly and left.

’Bye, Dad...’

Aurora could only express her longing for her father in her heart. When she felt overwhelming emotions in her heart, Alex’s warm hands suddenly held hers, surprising her.

"Let’s go! Your hand is quite chilly. You must be feeling cold," Alex helped her into the car.

As their car headed to the Graystone’s family home, Aurora tried to calm her emotions after meeting her father. She said nothing, and Alex seemed to understand that at times like this, she needed silence.

Aurora wanted to tell her father the truth, but she could already picture what would happen. Everything she said never reached her father’s ears; he might think she was out of her mind.

She could only push that thought aside as she took a deep, silent sigh. freewebnoveℓ.com

"Aurora, are you alright?" Alex asked after noticing her silence. A few times, he even heard her soft sigh.

Alex could sense that something was weighing on Aurora’s mind. He began to wonder if introducing her to Rory was the right decision.

’You are such a foolish Alex! Why didn’t you consider that she might have felt jealous?’ He could only vent his frustration in his mind while curiously waiting for her to respond.

"I’m fine, Alex." Aurora smiled, trying to reassure him.

Still, Alex doubted her. He noticed her smile seemed to lack warmth, not quite reaching her eyes. "Really?"

Seeing her nod, Alex continued, "But why did your expression seem so gloomy after we left the cemetery?"

Aurora struggled to find the right words. She had tried to hide her sorrow after seeing her father, yet Alex still noticed it.

She looked away momentarily, a gentle smile gracing her lips as she said, "I can’t hide anything from you, can I, Alex? Yeah, you are right, I’m a bit mournful."

"Aurora, I sincerely owe you an apology for introducing you to Rory. I didn’t realize it would make you feel jealous—"

"My goodness, Alex..." Aurora was utterly taken aback. How could she possibly feel jealous of herself? "...No. That is not what I’m saying. And why on earth would I be jealous of her? I am certainly not!"

"Oh! Really!? You aren’t?"

"Yes! I’m not jealous of her. However, I do feel sad because I saw Uncle Moon. I don’t know if you remember, but I mentioned before that Uncle Moon reminds me of my dad."

Alex gasped while nodding as he recalled her words.

"Seeing Uncle Moon again in the cemetery felt like meeting with my dad."

Aurora felt chills when she heard her words. She genuinely longed for her father and would be thankful if God granted her the chance to share her rebirth with him.
