Chapter 36: Second Floor: Titan World

The world twisted around him in a nauseating spiral, reality itself seeming to fold and unfold like origami in the hands of a mad god.

For a moment, time seem to stop in that instant, he existed everywhere and nowhere at the same time, he felt his mind stretched across multiple dimensions before coming back with a violent snap.

He emerged in a desolate land. The ground was littered with bones. Some were human bones, while some were monsters bones as they crunched and cracked under Lucius feet as he observed his surroundings.

Lucian sniffed. The air smelt like metal and tasted something like sulfur.

He could feel a sense of danger pricking his skin like needles and he immediately knew this second floor of the Galactic Tower might actually be difficult than the first floor.

There was only one thing that wasn't clear in his mind.

"Why the hell does this second floor look different from what I've been told?!"

Lucian was getting frustrated. The floors only change from Tenth Floor above, From the first floor to the tenth floor, they were the same for everyone.

And as though confirming this, a line of text appeared in his line of sight.

—————————————————————-

[Second Floor: Realm Of Titans]

[Objective: Clear the floor by eliminating the Attack Titan and his minions.]

[Rank: F Rank -> E rank (Difficulty increased = Solo-Leveling first floor)]

[Time Limit: 8 hours (7hrs:59min:02secs)]

—————————————————————

The message hung in the air like a signboard.

Lucian stared at the message in confusion as he observed his surroundings.

"Why the hell is this an E-rank floor? Moreover why is the second floor The Titan world?"

This wasn't right. According to what had been told in the academy, the second floor should have been the Goblin Kingdom—a forest realm ruled by a Goblin King, his goblin minions and his elite shamans.

That's what every student was taught, what every teachers told the students and even gave strategies on how to defeat them. The floors only changed from the tenth floor and above, where the floors are randomized.

But this... this was something else.

The sky above him churned with dark crimson clouds that occasionally split to reveal glimpses of a blood-red sun.

The land stretched before him, it was a barren wasteland filled with massive trees that resembled skeletal hands reaching toward the heavens.

From the distance, he could see mountains looming in the distance, their sharp and uneven peaks resembling rows of teeth.

When he gazed at the ground beneath his feet, it wasn't soil but a mixture of pulverized bone and ash that crunched with each step, releasing small plumes of dust.

Scattered across the land were the ruins of what might have once been a civilization, crumbled stone structures.

Massive skulls, that was as large as an eighteen wheeler vehicle, protruded from the ground like decorations.

Their eye sockets filled with a strange, phosphorescent fungus that gave off a sickly green glow.

"What the hell is going on?" Lucian muttered, the Dragon Soul Devourer Spear materialized in his arms.

The spear pulsed in response, its crimson runes flaring briefly as if sensing danger.

"Rumble!"

Suddenly, a rumble caught his attention.

He could feel the ground beneath his feet trembling and vibrating.

It was then he saw the cause, it was a colossal figure moving in the distance.

Even from this distance, Lucian could tell it was massive, easily 15m tall. Its humanoid form moved with a strange, jerky movement, similar to human but strange

[Mindless Titan]

[Level: 20]

As the message appeared before him, Lucian understood.

"The Titan world," Lucian frowned slightly as he remembered something he had overheard regarding this world.

But it was always on the upper floor, tenth floor and above.

"But why is it here now?"

The distant Titan suddenly stopped and turned in his direction, as if sensing his presence. Its face was incredibly human like. With mouth, nose and eyes like that of a human.

It was like an inflated version of a human!

However its mouth stretched impossibly wide in a permanent, teeth-baring grin.

Immediately it sighted him it began running toward him like a scene out of an horror movie.

Each footfall shaking the earth like thunder as it moved closer towards Lucian.

Despite its massive size, it was extremely fast. Muscles rippling beneath patches of flayed skin, as it closed the distance between them with frightening speed.

As it drew closer, Lucian could finally make out its figure in details.

While it looked incredibly human like there were still various differences.

Its eyes were massive and not straight at all. Its mouth was extremely wide to the extent it almost split its head in half.

Lucian's face changed slightly the Titan was even larger than Baltzer the Lizardmen King!

His grip tightened on the Dragon Soul Devourer Spear as various strategies flashed through his head.

The spear hummed with anticipation, the runes along its shaft glowing with a hungry crimson light.

"ROOOOAR!"

The Titan let out a roar that made the air trembled as its sound waves spread through the surroundings.

The force of it blasted Lucian's hair backward as it fluttered behind him violently.

Lucian's face turned expressionless. He didn't wait for it to reach him as he moved.

He exploded into motion, his muscles surging with immense power as veins buldged underneath his skin like snakes as he dashed forward with incredible speed.

"Bang!"

Without warning, the ground beneath his feet shattered as a three meter wide crater appeared on it, sending bone fragments spraying in all directions like shrapnel.

The air parted around him with an audible shriek as he moved like a bullet, becoming nothing but a blur streaking across the desolate land.

Just as they were about five meters apart, Titan's massive hand swooped down to grab him, fingers the size of tree trunks casting a shadow on Lucian. It was as though an airplane was about to crash into him like the twin tower.

Lucian's eyes narrowed and a maddened smile etched on his face.

"I need to finish this battle quickly before the others come. It'd be difficult to handle them when they're a horde."

In that instant, his heart pounded like a piston engine as blood flowed through his veins like a surging river!

"Thump!" "Thump!!" "Thump!!!"

The veins on his neck, chest, arms and thighs bulged out like snakes as they wriggled around his body with energy flowing through his veins like molten magma!

Moving 50m/s, with the force of a ton, the air distorted and screeched as Lucian twisted his waist mid-movement, placing all his strength in that single fist.

Without hesitation, he punched towards the enormous outstretch hand with his entire might.

"BOOM!!!"

The air exploded with a massive force as an incredibly visible shockwave bursted out ward in a circular motion, blasting everything within a twenty meter radius to smithereens!

Dust cloud rose up to the air like smoke as the ground beneath their feet shattered like, creating a massive twenty meter hole within.

Lucian was sent flying backwards with immense counter force. His feet rapidly stomped heavily on the ground as he tried to negate the force from underneath him.

It wasn't until he had moved twenty steps backwards was he able to stop!

His arm was trembling violently and intensely. His muscles had turned dark and were releasing intense crimson smoke as his shattered veins mixed with blood and sweat were being evaporated to the atmosphere by the intense heat from the collision.

As for the Titan, it only managed to take 15 steps backwards before it negated the force completely.

They actually possess about the same amount of strength. One could even go further and say Lucian was actually weaker than the Titan!

"E rank floor is surely in another level."

Even though Lucian was simply just a Level 9 supersoldier, his strength had gone far beyond that. Judging from pure strength, agility and physique; he was the same as an ordinary level 16 or 17 Super soldier!

However, this level 15 Titan was actually able to gain the upper hand in a show of strength, signified why this Floor was an E rank instead of an F rank floor.

"ROOAR!"

The Titan roared in fury as it took a step forward, its massive figure shadowing over Lucian like a massive canopy as it tree like fingers grabbed directly at Lucian like a doll.
