Re:Zero All Sins-Chapter 76: Why Not Ego Bonus
Chapter 76 - Why Not Ego Bonus
Beatrice looked as she spoke. "How did you get the idea to remove the Ego".
Subaru looked at her as her as he spoke. "Echinda and Pandora told me after I asked how Godhood actually work's, I don't want to be become like to The Greek Gods".
Beatrice looked at him confused. "Greek Gods?".
Subaru looked at her as he spoke. "Forget it"
Beatrice sighed as she flipped a page, as she saw a Note, a Pathways Based On Subaru Own Fool Pathway, one he label only for Him, as she read the name the sequence
"Time Walker pathway

Sequence 8: Artisan

Sequence 6: Pride
Sequence 5: Mist Shaper
Sequence 4: Warlock
Sequence 3: Light Bringer
Sequence 2: Witch King
Sequence 1: Paradox
Sequence 0 (Godhood): Time Walker".
Beatrice stared at the page, her eyes lingering on the final sequence—Time Walker. There was something almost poetic in how each sequence built off the next, yet with that familiar Subaru-brand madness layered beneath the words.
Beatrice muttered under her breath, "You made your own Pathway... and even gave it a theme. Stunt man to Time Walker... it sounds like the biography of an idiot with plot armor."
Subaru gave a sheepish grin. "Well, when you've died as many times as I have, you start getting ideas. The Fool Pathway was never enough. It... reacts to the world. I wanted something that shapes it."
Beatrice frowned, flipping through more of the pages detailing each sequence. "Sequence 7: Cursed Knight... 'one who wears the pain of others as armor'. Subaru, this sounds like a bad poetry contest and a trauma dump had a child."
"Accurate," Subaru replied, crossing his arms. "I thought if I was going to build something that defined my path, it should reflect everything I've gone through."
Beatrice stopped flipping and looked directly at him. "Sequence 2... Witch King? Are you serious?"
Subaru's voice dropped, more somber now. "If I'm going to carry all the witches inside me, if I'm going to rule my own fate and not be ruled by it... then yeah. I'd better earn that title."
She tapped the last sequence. "And Paradox? What does that even mean?"
Subaru gave a tired smile. "That I'll reach a point where I'm alive and dead, past and future, fool and god... all at once. A contradiction made whole. A Time Walker."
Beatrice went silent for a while before speaking softly. "You really think you can reach godhood this way?"
Subaru simply nodded. "If I can't... then I'll die trying. Again. And again. And again."
The room fell quiet again, only the soft turning of parchment filling the space.
Beatrice exhaled. "You're insane."
Subaru chuckled. "Would you expect anything less from the Fool?"
Inside of the Hanging Garden, as Minerva just sighed ashe looked at Daphne. "I swear I will strangle you one day".
Daphne looked at him as she spoke. "What did I do"
Minerva looked walked up to her as he spoke. "Because if you didn't tell that this world has Pathway Similar to LOTM so early, he would have never stared all of this".
Daphne laughed as she spoke. "So what, be was ment to find out eventually, it just so happened, we planned on him learning this at 25, he just learned it 10 years early".
Typhon, lounging nearby while nibbling on a cookie, giggled. "Ehehe~ You make it sound like Subaru being a god-tier lunatic was your fault, Daphne~."
Minerva turned sharply, glaring at her. "It is her fault! He was supposed to stay on the Fool Pathway longer, learn slowly—have a stable growth curve!"
Daphne stuck her tongue out. "But isn't it more fun this way~? He's already making Cards of Disorder, crafting a whole new Pathway, skipping sequences with sheer plot-induced insanity. He's basically rewriting reality because he has too much free time and emotional trauma."
Minerva groaned, rubbing her temples. "You act like this is a game! Pandora is actually helping him. Echidna too. And they're just letting him do it! At this rate, he'll reach Sequence 0 before we're even halfway through our plan!"
Daphne smiled wider. "And? He's our boy, right? Our little walking paradox. Besides..." She leaned forward mischievously. "You like it. Deep down, you love seeing him defy fate."
Minerva's face twitched with conflicting emotions before she turned away. "...That doesn't mean I approve of his methods."
Typhon giggled again. "Awwww~ Big sister Minerva cares~ She's worried Subaru's gonna break the system before we can finish fixing it."
At the corner, Sekhmet sighed lazily from her shadowy seat. "Mmm... It's fine. Let him build his Pathway. He's already no longer just a Fool. He's a Fool with purpose... those are the most dangerous kinds."
Minerva clenched her fists. "...If he becomes a God before his twenties, I'm blaming all of you."
Daphne giggled. "Too late~ We're already planning his divine birthday cake."
Carmilla then spoken. "I-i just want out H-husband to be s-safe, if it means he is reaching g-godhood early, then so b-be it".
Minerva looked at her as she spoke. "That is the problem with you and Satella, you both Love him blindly, I am the only trying to ground him to his Humanity".
Sekhmet yawn as she spoke. "I also try".
Typhon raised her hand playfully. "Ehehe~ I just want to see what he'll look like as a god! Will he still pet my head? Will he have wings? Maybe extra hands for hugs~!"
Minerva narrowed her eyes. "You're not helping, Typhon."
Carmilla gently clutched a pillow to her chest, her voice soft and watery. "I-it's not like I-I want him to lose himself... b-but he's been hurt so much... i-if he can protect himself... i-if he can make a w-world where no one hurts him anymore..."
Minerva's tone was sharp. "By losing what makes him human? His kindness? His weakness? The fact that he relates to people because he suffers with them? If he becomes too untouchable, if he stops breaking, he stops feeling. And then he stops being Subaru."
Sekhmet gave a tired sigh. "...You think too much. He's not some fragile crystal doll. He's Subaru. He breaks, he bleeds, and then he tries again. If godhood makes him stop trying, then yeah, that's the problem. But if he becomes a god because he kept trying... maybe that's just the next step."
Daphne blinked and smiled. "Wow, that was kinda deep for someone who's always half-asleep."
Sekhmet lazily flicked her finger at her.
Carmilla whispered. "I-I just want to b-be held by him forever... i-if that means b-becoming a goddess too, I'll do it..."
Minerva groaned. "We're all going to regret this."
A voice echoed from the distance—Echidna's, smug and amused.
"No, we're going to document it. Thoroughly."
Subaru grabbed his head, something the Witch's Forget he can hear them, as he sighed, he grabbed his books as he looked at Beatrice. "I am going to sleep Beatrice, enough for today".
Beatrice blinked as she looked at him, watching the bags under his eyes and the subtle twitch of frustration. "...In that case, go to sleep, I suppose. But don't blame me if you wake up with Carmilla drooling on your arm again, I suppose."
Subaru gave her a deadpan stare. "If that happens, I'm switching bedrooms with Halibel."
Beatrice narrowed her eyes. "Then don't forget, Halibel snores. Loudly."
Subaru groaned as he trudged toward his room, muttering to himself. "I have seven ancient witches in my head... one of them keeps trying to kiss me in my dreams... another one wants me to ascend into divinity... and the rest are taking notes like I'm their thesis project..."
He opened the door to his room, only to pause.
Carmilla was already there, curled up at the edge of his bed, hugging one of his jackets like a body pillow.
Subaru stood still for a long moment.
Then, softly, "...I'm going to sleep on the couch."
Beatrice called from the hall. "Good night, I suppose."
Subaru sighed as he closed the door behind him.
[Meanwhile, deep in his soul space...]
Satella: "I can make room in the shadows... the couch will be uncomfortable..."
Pandora: "I could build him a bed made from starlight and silence~"
Echidna: "I would rather study his REM cycles firsthand."
Subaru, whispering to no one: "I. Can. Hear. You."
All the witches: "...Oops."
