Re: Timeless Apocalypse-Chapter 82: God Paths(II)
Uriel wasn’t the type to make decisions lightly, proven by the fact that he’d taken days to think through his magic circles, but he wasn’t the kind to waste time either.
So, he made a logical decision, logical to him, at least.
During his transformations, he’d been mostly half-awake and half-unconscious, but he remembered quite a few things.
He remembered a dance of light and darkness. He remembered each of his steps leaving behind twisting vines that collapsed into fine grains of sand.
There was only one path that seemed to embody it all, at least to a certain degree.
[You have chosen the <Obscure Radiance Seed God Path> !]
The moment he chose it, Uriel felt a layer form around his True Core, flooding him with power and restructuring hidden parts of his body.
He also had a vision.
He saw a realm of light and darkness, both infinite and unending, holy and profane beyond comprehension, dancing in unbroken harmony and resonance, peace and solace wafting through the air.
In the middle of this expanse, at the core of the dance, he saw a small flower. Its long stem was a radiant gold, partly made of fine grains of glowing sand and partly of small green filaments that bound it together.
The flower atop the stem resembled a silver rose, its petals radiant yet muted.
Looking at it, it seemed bland, yet it also felt like the union and operation of all things, the stasis of the void and the endless change of chaos.
It felt like endless possibilities.
KAH!
Uriel woke up just as the changes to his body settled.
[Choose a God Class!]
<Radiant Core Knight!>
<Obscure Soul Warlock!>
<Broken Shard Blissweaver!>
<Obscure Radiance Nature Childe!>
Uriel caressed his chin.
’Huh. Why is it letting me choose my path and classes now? It didn’t let me do that before. I don’t think it did for the others either.’
He didn’t get any answer from Ophanis and could feel that she’d seemingly fallen into slumber for some reason, so he didn’t push.
He chose the obvious option. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Changes rippled through his body, but the most shocking one occurred in his chest, where he felt three additional hearts weave themselves into being: one as dark as the abyss, another as bright as heaven, and a third formed of bark and glass, reflecting sand.
It barely hurt, but it mostly felt strange.
Over his True Core, he felt yet another layer form.
’Let’s get this over with.’ It was getting hard to remain awake, so Uriel hurried the process.
He’d look at the details when he woke up.
[Choose God Frame Set!]
<Obscure Sunless Moon Emperor Frame / Radiant Moonless Sun God Frame!>
<Radiant Heavenly Chaos Core Frame / Obscure Infernal Heaven Heart Frame!>
<Crystal Blood King Frame / Vine-Born Storm Lord Frame!>
<Lightless Martial Knight Frame / Bright Arcane Sorcerer Frame!>
<Light Emperor...>
There were far more options when it came to frames, each reflecting an evolutionary frame and an origin frame; the former tied to his personal evolution, the latter aimed toward the evolution of his spark and core.
Each set represented a path of dual evolution, complete with its own boons and limitations, upsides and downsides.
Though he desperately wanted to sleep, Uriel forced himself to focus and read through every option.
Using the knowledge of the Prime-Sworn path in his mind, his mage foundation, and his own desires, he tried to pick apart the implications of each set.
There were no explicit details, so he made assumptions based on their grandiose names.
He stood there for an hour, thinking. In the end, he sighed and chose the obvious option.
[You have chosen the <Obscure Sunless Moon Emperor Frame / Radiant Moonless Sun God Frame!> set!]
He felt two additional layers form around his core, and even more changes surged through his body, but this time he didn’t bother checking.
Not bothering to even put clothes on, he walked over to his bed and slid under the covers, opening the window beside it to let the cold air in.
He closed his eyes and fell asleep instantly.
[Path, Class, and Frames have been chosen!]
He entered a deep state of hibernation.
...
While he slept, the macro changes halted, but the micro ones began.
His core expanded and ballooned, only to compress and purify in endless cycles, his aether pool growing to ridiculous proportions.
His mage circles changed as well, and when he eventually woke, he would be left with quite the bitter surprise. Now that his foundation had been set, his affinities began to emerge, and his spells were forced to follow suit.
He was barred from casting spells using elements not aligned with his affinities, but in exchange, those rooted within them roared with power.
A simple first-circle light spell would now most likely carry the force of a sixth-circle one, even without his fifth-circle formation magic.
His new hearts thumped, harmonising with his original one, and the changes continued. Around him, a silver-grey fog had formed, seemingly protecting his slumbering body.
But just as the changes neared their end, he began to cough.
It started slowly, then rapidly turned frantic, bits of flesh and blood sputtering from his lips. Yet no matter how bad it became, he didn’t wake up.
Because he didn’t need to.
The Gold-grade Mending Coil Pill had been for this moment. Originally, during the advent, Enoch had predicted that Uriel would form his class then, which would trigger the pill’s activation.
But he hadn’t.
Not only that, Uriel had, in the meantime, created a new path of evolution, then formed a class, lost it, and finally formed a God Class.
That didn’t make the pill obsolete. It did the opposite.
It made it doubly effective.
Uriel’s coughing rapidly subsided.
New veins spread throughout his body, slumbering talents awakening and buried potential surfacing.
His newly dormant sparks reached out as well, priming his body and turning it into a perfect canvas for their expression.
His mind settled, growing accustomed to the many boosts it had received from the system.
He slept peacefully, his dreams sweet and his body steeped in endless comfort.
He slept well.
