Chapter 331: Execution

"You’re responsible for the attack...."

"Is it not enough to get the city in a state of emergency?

Perhaps the addition of an armed bank robbery."

"Are you mad?!" Annie screamed hysterically, her body shaking with fear.

"Do you know what you’ve done? This is enough for a lifetime in jail."

"Yes, if they find out.

But they won’t because I’m not saying anything, and neither will you.

Right?"

Looking at me, Annie’s body trembled, the shock of what she was becoming embroiled in consuming her.

The woman’s mouth opened, struggling to find an answer, but then there was a knock on the door and she froze.

"Ma, can I come in?" the voice of one of her maids sounded.

Annie looked at me and then, as her eyes moved to the door, she made a dash.

Though the room was quite big, her distance to the door was not more than seven steps, but as she took the third step, her vision transformed.

Her daughters naked, bloody, chained and kept in the stables with farm animals.

That wasn’t the worst of it. Her vision shifted to herself on an operating table, the room empty, all her limbs hacked off—and she could strongly feel death approaching.

The feeling of death came from all around, and for what felt like minutes, Annie found herself looking left and right in panic, wanting to stand up and run. Her inability to move only tripled her terror.

"Do you want to die?" a voice that seemed to draw out her soul spoke.

Taking the fourth step toward the door, Annie’s legs gave out, her body shivering, having never felt death so close. freeweɓnøvel~com

The woman fell to her knees, her heavy body letting out a ’thump’ as she collapsed, and the door opened seconds later to a worried maid.

Pushing the door open, just as she stepped in, the maid suddenly fell to the floor, passed out.

There was silence in the room for a few seconds and then...

Ring!!

Ring!!

"Look at that.

You might just be valued after all."

Just by becoming aware of the fabric of reality, rather than simply releasing a package in my targets to fill them with fear, I could better modify my intent—and give it memory.

From the collapsed body of her maid, Annie looked at me, the woman trying to understand what had just happened, while also trying to disperse her fear and regain control of her body.

Standing up, I picked the telephone from beside and, closing the door of the room, brought the communication device to the woman, squatting before her.

"Remember what I told you.

I can be a fair man, but I can also be the devil.

As I’ve just demonstrated, there is more to this world than meets the eye."

Getting a subtle nod, I put the phone to the woman’s ear, and she began speaking.

.......

Though I knew it would draw suspicion, I curtailed my level of destruction at the airport, keeping it minimal.

Yes, planes were blown up, walls destroyed, cars blasted to pieces, multiple people injured—but no one was killed.

In my inventory, a pistol and shotgun went missing, and in my head, within my sea of Psion at its bottom, a certain being was missing.

Moving so fast he couldn’t be seen, my fallen knight caused mayhem in the airport. He made it a priority to shut off the power. In fact, that had been one of his biggest moves.

I had once been in that building, so this was not a hard feat for him.

Taking a trip to the power room and giving the backup generators a rest, the next thing was the elimination of the guards and now the airport looked like a scene from a zombie apocalypse.

Many people managed to escape the airport, but many others remained stuck inside, some injured, some hiding.

The firepower of the shotgun was quite intimidating for the police who had arrived, and they threw around announcements.

Things had been at a standstill for a while at the airport, every group of police who stepped into the building unfailingly going radio silent, breakthrough only came when the suspended chief of police arrived on the scene.

Of the two situations in the city, the attack on the airport was the most pressing. Annie dealing with the situation was a must.

But that was no problem for me.

I didn’t need her to be involved in the chase, I needed her to be in control of it.

At the moment, I sat before my desk, a map laid out in front of me, the light from my phone screen still on as I had just finished a call with Denise.

For several seconds, I was in silence, making final conclusions on the spots I had marked earlier on the map during my flight.

Then I picked up the phone and made another call.

"Hello, sir."

"How are you guys holding up?"

"We’re good."

"Alright, listen closely. I have a plan in place and you cannot make any mistake.

I will need you to head towards the city, following Nurich Road. Along it, you’ll find Klasing Square. The left side of the road will be blocked by police cars. I need you to take the right..."

No one interrupted me while I gave the game plan, and at the end, Nadia confirmed she had taken notes.

I folded up the map and headed down the building to my Maserati.

While my plan to get the three women out of the eyes of national TV and safely underway, at the airport, Annie was making waves.

After failed attempts by police teams to infiltrate the building, followed by even a SWAT team disappearing on the scene, Annie asked for a general overview of the building and decided to mount an attack from three sides.

Many complained.

After losing several officers, splitting the attacking force into three would leave each group with too few members, making them prey for the people inside.
