The coronation had ended, but the echoes of that moment still lingered in the atmosphere of Oynstar. The palace floated above the heartworld like a second sun, casting its golden radiance across the skies. Billions of citizens still knelt, whispering the name of their new ruler as though it was already woven into the fabric of history.

Yet Igaris, now seated on the crystalline throne, knew the truth of what he inherited.

The Empire of Oynstar was magnificent on the outside, but inside, it was a colossus weakened by cracks. Its armies were vast, but scattered. Its people were loyal, but weary. Its Sovereigns were proud, but fractured by petty rivalries. And its throne had been held by a dying man cursed by an enemy he could never defeat.

This was no empire of unshakable power. This was an empire on the brink of collapse.

Igaris rose from the throne, his cloak trailing like a river of void and starlight. The Infinite Law Tree shimmered faintly behind him, its vast form unseen by mortals but felt in their very souls. He stepped forward to the balcony, the Sovereign at his side, and the moment his presence touched the air, silence rippled across the multitude of soldiers, citizens, and lords who had gathered.

Kael, Lira, Selai, and the other generals stood in formation below. Rosella Victoria, the Emperor's granddaughter, stood at the side of the dais, her violet eyes narrowed, her hands clenched tightly against her silken robes. She had wanted this moment for herself. She had imagined it since she was a child—that she would ascend, not some outsider chosen by her grandfather's dying words.

But now, she could not look away from Igaris.

He raised his hand. The silence became absolute. Even the cosmic winds stilled.

His voice, deep and resolute, carried not through sound alone, but through the fabric of Law itself.

"Oynstar. My people. My soldiers. My Empire."

The crowd trembled at the weight of his tone.

"This is an empire built on brilliance. An empire that stretched its banners across galaxies, that carried the torch of law and order into the chaos of the void. Yet… look at us now. What are we?"

Murmurs rose among the citizens, uncertain, uneasy.

"We are weak."

The words cracked across the atmosphere like a lightning strike. No one dared speak, but the admission was undeniable. Even Rosella flinched, her pride momentarily stung.

Igaris continued, his eyes like burning suns.

"Our enemies circle us. Their Celestials curse us. The Void beings devour away our borders without any consequences. Millions dies, but no one cares. And within our own walls, greed festers, power is squandered, and the light of our destiny dims. You all feel it, whether you admit it or not. This Empire—our Empire—is no longer the spear that pierces the void. It is a fading ember, waiting to be snuffed out."

The silence now was heavy with shame. Soldiers clenched their fists, generals lowered their heads, and citizens bowed their eyes.

"But weakness, is not the end." Igaris said, his voice suddenly rising with sharp steel

The Infinite Law Tree shimmered behind him, its roots spanning unseen dimensions. The sight, though intangible, pressed into the minds of all present, awakening hope where despair lingered.

"An ember can be fanned into flame. A fading light can blaze again. I tell you now, Oynstar will rise. Not as the empire it once was, fractured and desperate, but as an empire unmatched across creation. Stronger than any Celestial. Fiercer than any outer being. An empire that kneels to no one."

The crowd roared as if a tidal wave of spirit had surged through them.

Igaris's hand cut the air, silencing them once more.

"But to rise, there must be change. I will tear down the rotten roots that weaken us. Corruption will find no shelter in my Empire. Betrayal will be met with ruin. Every soldier will be forged in fire. Every general will earn their name in battle. Every citizen will know pride in belonging to Oynstar."

The soldiers below struck their breastplates in thunderous unison.

"I will rebuild this Empire with my own hands. With the Infinite Law Tree as my witness, I swear this oath: Oynstar will not fade. Oynstar will not bow. Oynstar will ascend to be the strongest power in existence. And woe to those who dare stand against us."

The roar that followed shook the floating palace itself. Armored fists slammed into chests, banners of starlight rippled across the skies, and countless voices cried out his name. "Emperor Igaris! Emperor Infinite!" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Rosella Victoria could not breathe. Her chest rose and fell as she stared at the man who had stolen what she thought was hers. Yet, instead of hatred, something else stirred inside her—something she despised admitting even to herself. Admiration.

His words had burned away her doubts. His conviction had crushed her pride. Her grandfather had not erred. This man was born to lead.

And she, who had once despised the thought, now questioned herself.

...

After the speech.

When the crowds dispersed and the golden banners fluttered in the starlight, Rosella approached him. He was still on the balcony, gazing at the endless galaxy stretched before them, the Infinite Law Tree shimmering faintly in his shadow.

She hesitated before speaking. "You speak like one who has carried an empire for lifetimes."

Igaris turned, his expression unreadable but not unkind. "Perhaps I have."

Her lips trembled before she steadied them. "I… resented my grandfather's choice. I thought I deserved this throne. I thought an outsider could never understand Oynstar."

"And now?" Igaris asked calmly.

Rosella lowered her gaze. "Now I wonder if I was ever worthy at all."

Igaris studied her for a long moment. "Do not mistake worth for fate. You are strong, Rosella. You carry your bloodline with pride. But thrones are not about who desires them. They are about who can bear their responsibility without breaking."

Her eyes met his, and for the first time, she felt no defiance, only quiet recognition.

"Then allow me," she said softly, "to stand by you. If not as heir, then as ally. If not as ruler, then as one who will not let this Empire falter."

Igaris gave a faint nod. "Then we will see if you truly meant those words."

Nightfall: The Gateway

When night descended, and the palace grew quiet, Igaris sat cross-legged in the heart of his chamber. The starlit throne was silent behind him, the echoes of the coronation fading into memory. But his mind was elsewhere.

His wives. His daughter. His true world.

He closed his eyes, his soul sinking inward. The Infinite Law Tree shimmered within him, its roots spanning through the void. He touched them, willed them, reshaped them. His power as Overlord surged, trying to pierce the veil that separated this universe from the one he carried.

At first, the resistance was immense, like two oceans pressing against each other. His breath grew heavy, his body trembled with the strain. Yet his determination never faltered.

"I will see them again," he whispered. "Even if I tear down the walls of creation."

The branches of the Infinite Law Tree twisted, its leaves shining brighter until a doorway began to form. A shimmering gateway of law and light expanded before him. He poured every ounce of his essence into it.

And then—

It broke open.

The chamber vanished. The palace disappeared. The universe around him dissolved like mist.

When his vision cleared, he stood in the heart of his inner cosmos. The skies were painted with infinite stars, galaxies, and worlds he had devoured, now blooming with new life. And before him—

They stood.

His twenty-six wives, radiant as ever, each one a peerless beauty that outshone the heavens. Evernight, Shirley, Diva, Seraphina, Lilya, and the others. Their faces froze in shock, then melted into tears and laughter as they rushed toward him.

And then—

A small voice pierced the air.

"Papa."

Igaris froze. His dark eyes widened as he turned.

A little girl, seven or eight years old, stood shyly at the front of the crowd. Her hair was a cascade of silken silver, her eyes deep with the same starlit void as his. Her little hands clutched the hem of her dress as she gazed up at him with trembling hope.

It was Celestara. His daughter.

For the first time in countless years, the unshakable Overlord felt his heart soften, his chest tighten, his breath falter.

His lips trembled as he whispered, "Celestara…"

The child's eyes filled with tears, but her smile shone brighter than any star. She ran forward, her tiny arms spreading wide.

And Igaris, Emperor of Oynstar, Overlord of a universe, conqueror of laws and master of fate, knelt down and embraced her.

The Infinite Law Tree pulsed above them, its light blazing across both universes.

For in that single moment, no throne, no crown, no battle mattered more than the word he had just heard.

Papa.
