Chapter 134: What’s next?

Igaris quickly walked to the room where Founder Jian and Ren were staying.

Inside, he saw Ren meditating with his eyes shut, while the old man sat beside him with a furrowed brow, one hand resting on Ren’s head.

A tense silence hung in the air.

"My Lord, you’re here. Please, come quickly. This boy needs your help," Jian said in a hurried voice.

Igaris stepped forward and asked, "What is wrong? How can I help?"

"Lord, this boy truly has something frightening sleeping inside him, but I cannot awaken it with my meager energy. Please, lend me yours," Jian said sincerely.

Igaris nodded, then activated the Architect’s Eyes to peer into Ren’s being.

He saw it. A vast emptiness within Ren, something like a dried-up lake that devoured energy without end.

"Yes. I see it now."

Jian looked relieved. "Now please, press your hands on my shoulders and channel your raw Qi into me. I will guide it perfectly into the boy."

"Alright," Igaris said calmly as he moved behind the old man.

He placed both palms on Jian’s shoulders and began to channel his internal energy. But what flowed from him was not ordinary Qi, as Jian had expected. It was something far greater. Something superior.

Jian’s eyes widened as he felt the potent, refined energy course through his meridians. Its richness was unlike anything he had ever touched before. Yet deep down, he was not too surprised. As someone who walkd upon the true path, he understood—this was what it meant to follow a destiny beyond heaven’s reach.

As Igaris continued pouring his energy into Jian, a deep hum filled the room. The air grew thick, vibrating with a power that made the wooden walls groan in protest.

Sparks of light flickered around Ren’s body, and his veins pulsed like golden rivers under his skin.

Then it happened.

"Rooaargh!"

A low, ancient bellow erupted from within Ren’s chest. It wasn’t his voice, but something far older, far wilder.

A blinding light burst upward, forming a colossal silhouette behind him.

Jian gasped. "This... this is..."

An enormous mammoth slowly took shape. Its towering frame was wrapped in a hide of shifting shadows and golden streaks, tusks curving toward the sky, its eyes glowing with ancient wisdom and untamed wrath.

"The Ancient Mammoth," Jian whispered, overwhelmed. "An ancient beast known to crush mountains and break rivers... This boy now carries its physique."

The entire room trembled. Dust fell from the ceiling. Ren’s body began to lift from the floor, his feet hovering inches above the stone tiles. His muscles thickened, his bones cracked and reformed, reinforcing themselves under the immense spiritual pressure.

Outside, the wind howled as if in response to the awakening.

Igaris stepped back and observed quietly, his eyes glowing faintly.

He nodded in satisfaction. "Good. The foundation is solid. This strength will shake the continent one day."

Ren slowly lowered back to the ground. He opened his eyes, now tinged with a primal golden hue. The silhouette of the mammoth faded into his body like it had always belonged there.

"What... what was that?" he asked in a hoarse voice, clutching his chest.

Jian stepped forward and gently placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Haha...You, boy... you are not ordinary. That was a soul beast from the forgotten past. And now it is part of you."

Ren’s breathing steadied as he absorbed the truth. His life, from this point forward, would never be the same. He understood that with clarity burning in his chest. And there was only one person behind this change.

"Thank you, my lord. For this gift. I will never forget your favor. From this day on, I serve you. Only you. Your enemy is my enemy," he said with unwavering resolve, then knelt and kowtowed deeply, pressing his forehead to the stone floor in reverence.

Igaris stepped forward and immediately pulled him up with a firm grip.

"No need for that. Raise your head, Ren. I did not awaken you to watch you kneel. Prepare yourself. From now on, you walk the path of giants. Crush everyone in your way."

Ren stood tall, strength radiating from his frame. His fists clenched with renewed determination.

"Yes, my lord. I will. I couldn’t become your sword, but I will be your shield."

Jian Longchen watched silently from the side, eyes gleaming with a sense of nostalgia and hope. A new force had just been born under the banner of Igaris. A future pillar of his coming empire.

And this was just the beginning.

---

The next morning, the training grounds of the Outer Court were unusually tense.

Whispers spread like wildfire.

"Did you hear? That loser Ren Wen is challenging everyone."

"Is he out of his mind? What happened to him overnight?"

Some laughed mockingly, others watched with furrowed brows.

But when Ren stepped onto the center platform, all laughter ceased.

He looked different.

His body looked stronger, more defined, his presence towering as if something ancient attached behind him. His eyes burned with determination.

"I challenge everyone who mocked me," Ren said clearly, voice echoing across the grounds. "Come. One by one or all at once. I’ll show you the results of true training."

A muscular youth, confident and loud, stepped forward.

"Tch, let me end this farce."

The match began.

The youth rushed forward, throwing a flurry of fists.

Ren didn’t even move at first. He let the attacks come, blocking them with ease, like swatting away dust.

Bang!

Then, with a single punch to the chest, he sent the youth flying backward, landing with a loud thud and rolling to a stop.

Gasps of shock filled the field.

Another came. And another. One by one, they fell, each beaten with raw strength that crushed their confidence and pride. His punches were not just powerful. They were overwhelming. As if an ancient beast had been unleashed in human form.

Some tried using special Martial Arts, footwork, even weapons. Nothing worked.

Ren’s movement was precise. Brutal. Controlled.

Each time someone stood to fight him, they lasted less than a minute.

At one point, no one else dared to step forward.

Silence fell over the ground.

Then a voice rang out, filled with disbelief.

"What happened to him?"

Ren stood in the center, fists clenched at his sides, breathing steady.

"I trained. And I serve someone who believes in me," he said without arrogance, only truth.

In the distance, Igaris watched silently from atop the nearby roof, arms folded. Evernight stood beside him, quietly impressed.

"Another piller successfully established. What’s next?"
