Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel-Chapter 700: More Treasures please
The days that followed were eventful, to say the least.
The very next morning, Chiron and Emma noticed that the receptionist’s corpse had vanished, as if the bloody mess from the night before had never happened.
In her place, a plump woman now sat behind the desk, her round face plastered with a polite smile, acting as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
But Chiron could tell—the incident had been buried.
No questions. No authorities. No reports.
It wasn’t just their hotel, either. In the following days, there were other attacks throughout the island town against them—on dark roads, in narrow alleys, where thieves, Pirates and other suspecious fellows tried their luck.
But luck was something they never had.
One of such night, as Emma and Chiron walked through a narrow, deserted street in search of information, a group of men, hidden in the shadows, leaped out with gleaming blades in their hands.
They reeked of sweat and desperation, their eyes filled with greed, already imagining how much they could sell Emma for and how much beast cores they could strip from Chiron.
After all, everyone knew that the new couple only paid in rich beast cores.
One of them, a scar-faced man, sneered, licking his blade.
"You picked the wrong street, pretty boy. Why don’t you hand over your woman and your valuables, and we might let you crawl outta here?"
Chiron sighed.
He had barely raised an eyebrow when Emma moved like a whisper—before anyone could react, the air itself turned heavy with the scent of iron.
In a blink, she was behind them.
Scar-face’s eyes widened, his mouth opening to scream—but all that came out was a wet gurgle.
His head tumbled to the ground before his body realized it was dead.
The rest of the men froze, their limbs trembling as one by one, they began to fall apart in bloody chunks, their faces still locked in expressions of terror.
Emma hummed a sweet, innocent tune, stepping over the remains as if she had merely trampled over fallen leaves.
Her hands were spotless, not a single drop of blood staining her clothes.
By the time the last man collapsed, Chiron was still standing in the same spot, his expression unchanged.
"You done?" he asked casually.
Emma clapped her hands together, smiling brightly.
"Mhm!~"
Soon, whispers spread across the island town.
The new couple was not to be trifled with.
...Through Chiron’s careful investigations, Chiron eventually made his way to the Temple of Magnus, the island god worshiped by the locals.
It was situated on a rocky cliffside, overlooking the endless waves of the sea. The path leading to it was carved through twisting stone passages, each step filled with the echoes of crashing waves.
The temple itself was built from dark blue stone, its walls etched with ancient carvings of sea creatures and tales of old maritime legends.
At its center stood the great statue of Magnus.
Unlike other deities, Magnus was depicted not with a mighty weapon or a regal crown, but with a massive beard—one so long and flowing that it cascaded down to the temple floor.
But what made it truly remarkable was that the beard wasn’t stone—it was water.
The liquid strands shimmered as if they were alive, cascading down like a perpetual waterfall, never ceasing, never evaporating.
To any outsider, it was a breathtaking sight—a testament to divine power.
But Chiron, upon stepping inside, immediately frowned.
Something was off.
He had been in temples before—and he knew what divine presence felt like. Besides, he was already quite sensitive to divine power, especially since he began to consume faith.
Here?
There was nothing.
Not a single trace of godly energy.
It was like standing inside a grand shell—hollow and lifeless.
Even so, just as the bartender had warned, the chief priest remained unseen.
No matter how long he waited, no matter how many official requests he made, no one granted him an audience.
Of course, he could have forced his way in.
But he didn’t.
Not yet.
He knew this island had a hidden expert lurking in the shadows.
And if he moved too recklessly, that expert might decide to disappear before he could find him.
The evidence was all around him.
There were too many secrets on this island to ignore.
For one, this place remained untouched regardless of the wars between the Zodiac families and the Holy Church.
But even more so, they were quite brazen about the worship of their pagan God.
Back in the Vandora kingdom, the people worshipped as they saw fit because of the protection of the Zodiac Families.
While the Zodiac families did not mind the worship of other gods and strictly ruled the land, the holy church wound never allow such a thing.
Also, this was the Great sea. A land filled with so much dangers. Core beasts of the sea were many. But for some reason, Chiron had not even heard of any attack of any kind as if the island was untouchable.
Chiron knew that this was not possible. It was just the same way that core beasts did not want to reach the ship that brought them here because of his presence.
At this rate, without a doubt, the upcoming festival was not going to be boring.
But before that, Chiron had to find other things. The island still had other hidden treasures.
Well, it would not be a treasure to others, but it would be a treasure to him.
This incredible place that Chiron was looking for, was none other than a Grave yard.
Chiron was triple energy user
He had Spiritual energy which he was born with, Aura which he acquired after consuming his mothers spirit, and lastly, he had magic which he got as a result of Manu’s souk taking over his body.
While Chiron was quite fond of spiritual energy because of its vast energy reserves, it did not mean that he was lacking in the other sectors.
For what was to come next, this Grave yard was going to be an asset.
