Re: Elf Prince—A Degenerate's Second Chance-Chapter 102. Monster
102. Monster
Immediately the chaos had started Ash who was still suffering from the effects of the world tree mirror had half his face covered in his own blood as he realised the chaos happening all around him he passed out and woke up a second later. In this time all the pain he had felt earlier were all gone, he said nothing and climbed up to his feet. His eye had grown darker and on his face a deep frown, his attention was on the growing chaos for a few seconds before he started to look around the room.
With his hands still tied behind his back and not being able to use magic he turned and started to walk away, not even looking in the direction of Eryndor. He appeared not t even remember that his junior disciple was there and instead walked away. As the fight grew he filtered into the chaos like a shadow unseen by others which worked well for, this worked for a short while before one of the beast warriors caught sight of him and screamed.
"Hey you, you’re that bastard psychopath everyone’s talking about? You don’t look all that special now." The guard said with confidence.
Ash’s head was down as he said and did nothing but stand there. His eyes slowly accessed the person talking to him and after a while he started to walk closer to the figure.
The warrior smiled and waved his hands with each finger bearing long curved claws and not finger nails. "Well then come at me you bastard."
The warrior watched as Ash approached him and he let him, he wanted to see what the popular psychopath was capable of and what best than a battle to pull it off. Now Ash was just three feets from him and he stopped and did nothing, it was like his body had been turned off. The warrior looked down at him and scowled at him. "What’s this? Did you give up or did you just want to mock me?" Saying this he struck Ash, and that might have perhaps been his first mistake.
The warrior moved one palm forward and struck Ash in the chest driving his claws in and breaking through the flesh and bone, this soon caused blood to leak out of it. The warrior noticed that Ash did not as much as flinch at his attack m, he stood there and did nothing. It was like he did not feel his attack.
As the warrior raised his hand to strike his head this time he felt a strange surge of power from Ash. In a few seconds their situation changed drastically as Ash pulled back on instinct and crouched down, dodging the swipe of the beast warrior in time. From this position he launching himself up and opened his jaw and bit into the neck of the beast warrior. All this while his hands were still tied behind his back so he had to maneuver his body without it.
A strange pain entranced the beast warrior for a few seconds as he felt a thick liquid roll down his neck. Ash bit harder on the beastial’s neck, his teeth cutting through skin and flesh and then vein. Ash did not let go and bit even harder than before this time the beastial reacted and tried to throw him off but before his hand could touch his attack Ash leapt off his teeth ripping out the flesh from the beastial’s neck.
The beastial warrior held his neck and staggered oddly, looking forward he saw Ash creeping around like a rabid dog, his mouth still holding the piece of flesh in his mouth. He looked more like a wild beast than a person, the eyes of the beastial warrior shot up as he watched Ash spring forward with remarkable speed, he closed the distance in seconds only to be kicked away by the beastial warrior.
Instead of falling down to the ground Ash one again dissolved into the crowd behind him like a shadow. Seeing this the beastial warrior ran, he could still seel Ash’s eyes on him somewhere in the crowd stalking him like it’s prey. In that moment it was evident to him that he was being hunted by a wild beast and he would soon die.
Ht beastial warrior managed to navigate through the chaos, he had one hand trying to stop the bleeding in his neck and another hand shoving the crowd of innocent beast people out of the way. His heart palpitated and he broke into a hot sweat, the more he ran the more he felt the need to run, it felt strange but he could feel every cell in his body telling him to run. It was like he had something evil chasing after him.
"Huff, huff. Damn, damnit." He cursed multiple times as he barely managed to breath from exhaustion. He hated the fact that he was running, he was going to be a proud warrior in the league of Red claw and he was running from a restrained prisoner. Everything he had this thought he turned to stand or he imagined he did but his body never once stopped running, even when he would trip over the foot or body of someone his body would use a kind of stamina he never knew he had to keep running. He could only remember ever feeling this emotion when he was much younger, this was fear and it was in it’s primal form.
A few minutes passed in the chaos and he felt the strange energy following him finally ceased but out of fear he continued to run but he eventually got tired and chased to slow down his pace slightly long enough for him to look back and access his situation.
And he did this, he slowed down and looked back over his shoulder and when he did all the could see was chaos, a second later he could see a red light piercing at him through the chaos and the feeling of dread rushed back into him. He felt covered by one beast from all sides, his body froze for a fraction of a second and that was all it took. A blur of red shot forward and the next thing the beastial felt was a pair of powerful jaws clamping down on his throat and the sound of his bone snapping with it.
Ash had followed him long enough to enjoy this, he had leapt unto the beastial warrior that had attacked him earlier with his jaws extended first. After tightening his teeth on him, he feels the cold metallic taste enter his mouth and stream down the sides of his mouth. Feeling the blood going down his throat filled him with a sense of exhilaration as he pulled the beastial warrior down and cursed his neck, next he ripped out the portion of his neck bone and spat it down on the ground.
As the beastial warrior fell to the ground and had his neck broken, he gurgled on his own blood and looked up at the thing that killed him and thought. "Monster." He could see the look in Ash’s eyes and it was not one of mad glee but rather disgust and disinterest, as if it had seen him a a simple sport, this made the beastial warrior feel wasted. As he was about to pass out he could see under the strands of hair that his the other eye if his killer and it was beaming with the image of a red cross. "What the hell, a—" it was at this moment that he gave up the ghost
Ash stood there for a few more seconds before he staggered and fell, before he reached the ground he regained his consciousness and stood back up. He noticed the tasted on his lips and mouth and then looked down at the body on the ground and frowned. "Now look at the mess you made." He said to no one and then looked back at the center of the hut where Merylin had just saved Eryndor from being killed and sighed. "Just hang in there junior disciple, it’s time I do what I came here for."
Saying this he was about to dissolve into the chaos again when he stopped t look down at the body once more and shake his head saying. "You really roughed him up.... Of course I feel no pity for him.... What do you mean.... Forget it." Finishing his argument with none he vanished again with a dark smile plastered on his face.
"Hey you, wake up! Snap out of whatever you’re inflicted with, I need your help here." Merylin said as she tried to shake Eryndor awake. When their eyes met she instantly dissolved. His beautiful blue eyes seemed fractured and melted in the growing tears that threatened to flow down his beautiful face. "Now why are you crying?" She screamed at him l, hoping to break the trance state he was in but it did not change a thing.
Slowly Eryndor parted his mouth and spoke in a broken voice. "I’m a failure, Celyndor was right— I am hopeless."
Merylin who had no knowledge of what Eryndor has gone through only had the stories to rely and and from her point of view he was feeling rejected for all that he had lost.
"Dammit. Why did you have to have an emotional breakdown here? I don’t need a cry baby here what I need is a warrior." She thought to herself and it clear that she would not be getting her wish anytime soon.
