Time passed.

Just a few hours after the second day started, Sam already climbed to the top of the leaderboard, and by afternoon, he left the rest of the group in dust. His light element and overwhelming strength compared to his peers left the beasts pretty much helpless in the face of his attacks.

Dayus on the other hand, didn't mind the leaderboard that much. He just focused on finding the special beasts and he did have a decent yield. According to his estimation and the guidance given to him by Zeus, as long as he was close to catching around seventy-five of these special beasts by the end of the second day, then he should be fine.

He needs a hundred of them to be able to locate the Legacy inheritance.

Just an hour before the end of the second day, Dayus killed his eightieth special. However, almost exactly at the same time, Sam killed his eighty-fifth.

Since he could see the shape of the orb that is forming within the star, he guessed that he needed around fifteen more to get to the required target and locate the Legacy inheritance.

If Dayus knew about this… who knows what his reaction would be. But it didn't take long for Sam to find out.

As Dayus searched for his eighty first beast, his spear tip finally glowed and he ran in a specific direction. After two minutes, he identified the location and dashed towards it. But before he could reach the spot, all of a sudden he saw a light beam hit it.

*BOOM*

With an explosive sound, a huge worm like creature crawled out of the ground and looked around trying to identify its enemy. Dayus frowned as he looked in the direction from which the attack had come from.

*SWOOSH*

A light beam appeared and from within Sam revealed himself levitating in the air, with a big grin. His energy vision was running full as he looked at the numerous stars around Dayus. His grin widened as he looked at the bright red orb within a star.

He then looked at the brightly glowing spear in his hands.

"Seems like you came prepared. What number are you at? Eighty? Eighty One? I can't say it from this far away."

As soon as he spoke those words, Dayus' vigilance turned into absolute horror.

"You…"

"Don't make that face. Knowing me for all these years, you are still surprised that I managed to catch on to this? Come on, Dayus. Improve a little bit. Upgrade yourself. Its getting uninteresting."

As he spoke, he launhed himself into the mouth of the huge worm.

*BOOM*

With an explosive sound, he destroyed the worm in that single jump.

*CRASH*

The worm died and Sam managed to gather another fragment. Finally, Dayus got out of his shock.

Sam increased his altitude once again and said.

"I don't know what your spear tracker's range is. Since its not glowing anymore, I am guessing its not that big. I am gonna do you a favor and tell you this. The closest fragment is in that direction."

Sam said and pointed in a specific direction before moving into that same direction.

"FUCK YOU."

Dayus yelled and activated full lightning elemental fusion before he too charged in the same direction. "Oh, you are following me? It's a good thing that you are not idiotic enough to not trust me."

Sam taunted as he moved forward. Dayus had to use all his strength to keep up. He left a crater behind with his every step. When he saw Sam shot a light beam at a certain spot from far away, he saw that a creature has emerged from that spot.

Dayus took out a spear and threw it.

*ZOOM*

As soon as the creature appeared, even before Sam could launch and attack to claim it, Dayus' spear took it out. The star fragment flew towards him. Sam halted in his tracks and looked at Dayus with a smile.

"Are you sure, you want to do this?" He asked.

Dayus didn't reply. He just recalled the spear he just threw and swung it at the ground. As if trying to show off.

"Alright, let's go."

*ZAP*

Sam turned into a flash of light as he disappeared. Dayus felt his heart shake for a moment. That speed wasn't something he was expecting. But he didn't let it stop him.

*ZAP*

He used all of his strength to keep up with Sam. But no matter how much he tried, there was always a certain distance between him and Sam. It wasn't reducing and neither was it increasing. It didn't take long for him to understand that Sam was maintaining the pace.

This only made him angrier.

*BOOM*

When Sam made another creature appeared, he threw his spear once again, but this time however, Sam didn't let it hit the creature. With a beam of light, the spear was torn into two from tip to tail. The two pieces flew to either side of the creature and Sam destroyed the creature in that time gap.

He didn't even wait for a moment, before he moved to a different direction.

"FUCK"

Dayus cursed and followed. For the rest of the day, that is all the participants saw. Sam and Dayus. A golden light followed by purple lightning. They rampaged through the whole pocket dimension as they pursued the special star fragments.

Some times, Sam managed to take down the creature, but some times Dayus managed to snatch it. After some time, Dayus didn't even bother using his spear tracker. He just followed Sam crazily.

A few minutes before the end of the second day, Sam and Dayus finally came to halt. Both of them are panting heavily. The whole pursuit was relentless and both of them had to exert a significant amount of their energies.

However, their harvest wasn't exactly satisfactory for either of them.

Sam reached ninety eight fragments and Dayus reached Ninety five.

If either of them had pursued these creatures by themselves, they would have definitely reached the limit. In fact, Sam had a higher chance of finishing it, since he can find them by himself much more efficiently.

But now, because he wanted to show off a bit, he didn't hit the target. However, he wasn't that disappointed. At least not as much as Dayus.

Dayus wanted to curse at Sam's face.

"How did you know?"

Dayus asked.

"Know what? The special star fragments? Or the legacy inheritance?"

Dayus widened his eyes. It felt like a huge cannon hit him in the gut. "Y… You…"

"Come on Dayus, you know me better than that. Do you really think you can outplay me by hiding some information? Do you really think that little of me?"

"Now, in a few minutes the third day will start. We have less than ten more fragments to collect. The number of beasts has lessened which means we will have to get those fragments from the other candidates.

So, it all comes to who gets it first. Or do you want to take a chance and swing at me?"

"Or I can just follow you around, Sam. I am sure you have a better detection method compared to mine. I will just do what we have been doing until now. I wonder if you are willing to risk being chased by me.

Who knows we might just catch the fragments at the same time, or I might even steal it from under your nose before you do."

"Novel Idea, Dayus. However, are you sure that you are going gain by following me around? After all, the legacy inheritance is more important to you than me.

All I need to do is to make sure that you didn't get your hands on it, as for me acquiring it? Do you think I am dependant on it like you?

I already have a crew that will kill and die for me. I have friends that you couldn't buy with all the wealth in the world. At most this could be a boost to their strength, but I don't need to rely on these things to do that.

However, for you.."

Sam just chuckled after stopping there.

Dayus gritted his teeth and tightened his hold around the spear, he got angry. Because whatever Sam said was right.

Its true that legacy inheritance is of utmost importance to him, and it was also true that Sam is not as desperate as him. This knowledge made him angry and frustrated.

After some thought, he decided that he should explore on his own and he didn't waste any more time. He moved with his top speed and disappeared from there.

Sam chuckled and took a different route. He doesn't know exactly how Dayus' tracking works, however, his own tracking method was impeccable and he already has a few targets in his mind. So, he turned around and moved to find his first victim in this pocket dimension.
