Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 343: Demon Eggs
Chapter 343: Demon Eggs
Noticing his furrowed brows, Lilith burst out laughing.
"Hahaha... I’m just kidding. We’re not really married, but what you did at the end there was basically an engagement."
"What? Touching horns? Isn’t that what we were supposed to do in the first place?" Rael asked.
Lilith held back a laugh. "We were supposed to stand beside each other and wave at the crowd. Our horns would’ve formed a crown, but... pfft... you proposed instead."
"..."
He remembered the way her cheeks flushed when he did it, so it was a bit hard to ignore.
After all, she had this distinct way of showing vulnerability, and even someone who didn’t know her could see it.
Sarcasm.
"It’s fine." Lilith patted his shoulder with a distant smile. "I know you didn’t mean it. So don’t worry about it."
Rael’s brows twitched slightly as she finally let go of his shoulder and summoned two chairs from her inventory.
"Sit. Also, check your status. The Demonic Lands should’ve been added."
Rael snapped out of his momentary daze and glanced at his status screen.
Moments later, he found the management interface and opened it up.
Immediately, his eyes widened.
Holy shit...?

"...How is this even possible?"
Lilith giggled. "What? Did you think the demons do nothing but plague the lands? We’re the ones doing most of the dungeon clearing on this blasted continent. Plus, the Cave of Maw is a dungeon that resets every single day, so every single time we go into it and clear it, we come out with at least a billion Trell in items."
Rael’s eyes widened. "What about the taxpayers then...? Everyone’s a taxpayer? Even children?"
"Children are not really children," Lilith said, tilting her head. "The moment we demons are born, we know how to fight, how to kill, and how to survive in whatever environment we find ourselves in."
She let out a sigh. "Unlike normal pregnancies, we hatch from eggs. But depending on the status of a demon, they might be discarded as an egg, tossed into a distant planet, and forced to survive by themselves. Frankly... most of the demons in the Demonic Lands are those who were discarded."
Rael’s expression turned darker. "Does that include you?"
"Me? Hm..." Lilith fell into thought, crossing her legs. "I wasn’t discarded, but I was abandoned. I... I used to live in Hell a very long time ago."
She wanted to stop talking, but upon seeing his curious expression, she continued.
"I’m the Demon King’s child... the actual Demon King. The one in myths and legends," Lilith announced. "I was supposed to share his bloodline, but I didn’t inherit it. Even after years and years went by, there were no changes."
"In the end, my siblings shunned me and called me names, even my father, the Demon King..." Lilith clenched her fists tightly. "He thought I was a bastard child... and because of that, he executed my mother."
All of a sudden, a thick murderous intent spread throughout the air, threatening to suffocate him.
But with a single breath, Rael was able to dispel that pressure as he continued listening to her.
"I couldn’t take it anymore, being shunned by my siblings... the people I considered family, so after devising a plan, I ran away." Lilith sank into her chair. "I ran and ran, avoiding pursuers from Hell until eventually, I ended up in this world, in this particular continent."
A faint smile returned on her face.
"I found Darkness Demons hiding in the shadows, afraid of the humans, so I stepped up and conquered a small piece of the continent. I gave the demons a home, and in return, I received eternal gratitude."
Lilith slowly turned her gaze toward him and let out a chuckle.
"Sorry for the sob story. I just wanted to get it off my chest."
"It’s alright," Rael assured. "I’m glad you trust me enough to share something so private."
Lilith shrugged. "Well, we’re going to be long-term partners from here on, so there’s no point hiding it, is there? Also..."
She tapped her curved horn, and in the next moment, it straightened, losing its previous spiral appearance.
At the same time, it began emitting a strange, almost intoxicating energy, as if it were sucking him in the longer he stared at it.
Is she...?
"I’m not really a Darkness Demon. I’m a Calamity Demon... just without the special bloodline," Lilith said with a smile. "When I first arrived at this place, I met Iradan. He was an excellent alchemist even back then, and he managed to brew a potion that altered my appearance and masked my actual race."
Rael’s brows twitched, but before he could speak, Lilith interjected.
"I know what you might be thinking, but no. To brew that same potion again would take centuries. And even then, you would’ve had to deal with the side effects that followed," she said, not getting into details. "And the simple transformation potion you have right now wouldn’t have worked. You didn’t have the demon’s essence."
She leaned in, placing a hand on his chest.
"With each heartbeat, you radiate your demonic authority. You can’t replicate that... not normally anyway."
Rael took her words to heart and, though it was a little too late, checked the premium shop, looking for the potion she’d described.
To his surprise, there weren’t any potions like that, only weak ones similar to the one he had drunk.
"Anyway..." Lilith leaned back in her chair. "Are you satisfied with how everything turned out?"
"I’m not sure..." Rael replied. "It feels like..."
He disliked how it turned out.
The coronation was a success, but her backstory rubbed him the wrong way. Especially because there was only one path where he walked out of here satisfied.
"Lilith?"
"Yes...?"
"What is your father’s bloodline called?" Rael asked, his expression hardening.
A faint frown crossed her face, but it quickly faded.
"It’s called The Bloodline of the Ancient Calamity... why?"
Rael nodded and turned his attention elsewhere.
He scrolled through the premium shop, but upon not finding it there, he tried the Premium Inheritance perk instead.
To his surprise...
[Tier 8–10] Bloodlines:
Old King of Demons Bloodline: 473,000,000,000 Trell
Jester’s Bloodline: 561,000,000,000 Trell
Titan God Bloodline: 678,000,000,000 Trell
The Bloodline of the Ancient Calamity: 999,000,000,000 Trell
<Expand for more>
Rael’s fingers trembled as he turned toward Lilith and flashed a slight smile.
"Say... You wouldn’t happen to have 1 trillion Trell lying around, would you?"
