Chapter 955: Chapter 955: I’m So Pitiful

Alice Turner initially thought Thomas Fisher was joking with her, but seeing his expression wasn’t at all joking, she was surprised, "Did you get beat a lot by your mom when you were a kid? You must’ve been quite naughty, right?"

He must have been quite mischievous when he was little, otherwise why would his mom always beat him?

"Not really."

Thomas Fisher was being very modest, so modest that even he felt a bit guilty. He sat properly in the driver’s seat, eyes looking straight ahead, to cover his guilt.

Alice Turner leaned over to look at him, full of disbelief, "Not really? Why do you sound so unconvincing?"

Judging by how he looks now, it’s easy to guess he was really mischievous as a child.

"Hehe! You guessed it, I was indeed quite naughty as a kid." Thomas Fisher tilted his head and gave Alice Turner a silly grin. After speaking, he started the engine, ready to drive away.

After hearing what he said, she summarized, "Then getting beaten was inevitable."

She looked at him starting the car, wearing an expression of schadenfreude.

"How can you be so unsympathetic? I’m so pitiful." When Thomas Fisher said he was pitiful, he even put on a pitiful expression to match his words, just to win her sympathy.

The girl entirely ignored his pitiful look, directly exposing him, "Young Master Dalton! Stop pretending to be pitiful and just drive."

After urging Thomas Fisher, Alice Turner settled back into her seat, looking out the window, no longer joking with him.

"I really am pitiful, alright? Alice! You really..."

Bzz bzz bzz!

The phone in Alice Turner’s bag suddenly started buzzing. Hearing the phone vibrating, Thomas Fisher instinctively stopped talking and tilted his head to look at her bag.

He guessed in his mind, could this call be from his third brother Benjamin Shaw?

While Thomas Fisher was wildly guessing, Alice Turner took her phone out of the bag. He curiously leaned over to see who was calling, and she casually picked up the phone, showing no intention of avoiding him.

The moment Alice Turner picked up the phone, Thomas Fisher sharp-eyed saw the words "sister’s husband." Her sister’s husband? Wasn’t that his eldest brother?

Why was his eldest brother calling her at this time? Could something have happened to her sister?

Compared to Thomas Fisher’s surprise, Alice Turner seemed much calmer because she knew the call was from her sister, Lily Turner. She unhurriedly answered the call.

"Hello! Sis! You should be home by now, right?" Before Alice Turner could speak, Lily Turner spoke first.

Alice Turner glanced out of the car window and replied, "Not yet. Why? Do you need something?"

She felt so puzzled inside, she couldn’t figure out why her sister was calling her now.

"It’s nothing important, I just wanted to ask if you’ll be coming home tomorrow?"

The more Lily Turner said, the more confused and baffled Alice Turner became. As soon as the question was asked, Alice Turner immediately asked back, "Coming home tomorrow? Why..."

Alice Turner seemed to suddenly remember something, raised her hand and smacked her forehead, "How could I forget? Tomorrow is the day you and Easton return to visit, I’ll definitely be there."

So much has happened these last few days, she had completely forgotten about it. If her sister hadn’t called, she wouldn’t have remembered at all.
