Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 85: As Long as You’re Happy
Chapter 85 - 85: As Long as You're Happy
"I'm handsome and dashing, why would anyone dislike me?"
Lily Turner's recent words not only did not cause Easton Holmes the slightest displeasure, but also brought a smile to his usually stern face, the corners of his mouth curving in a captivating way.
Although she could only see one side of his face, Lily Turner saw very clearly that the man was smiling at that moment, smiling because of what she had just said.
"I've realized, you're not only deviously clever, but also so full of yourself."
Lily Turner shook her head. If she wasn't worried about distracting him from driving, she would definitely have poked his smiling mouth, because it was just too bizarre.
She remembered the first time she met him, the aura he gave off was cold as ice, especially with that sharply outlined face that seemed to exude an icy chill.
In response, the curve at Easton Holmes' mouth became even more pronounced, "Deviously clever! Full of myself! Have you discovered any other of my virtues?"
He turned to glance at her, his face clearly lit with amusement.
"I've suddenly discovered you have a slightly scary virtue too."
The ice-cold demeanor of Easton Holmes had deeply imprinted itself in Lily Turner's mind, making his smile seem very eerie and abnormal to her.
"Oh? Scary?" Easton Holmes cocked his head to look at Lily Turner, his stern face filled with confusion, "Do I look scary?"
Lily Turner shook her head, and just as Easton Holmes was feeling pleased thinking he had guessed wrong, she suddenly said something that nearly made him faint with anger, "How could it be just scary? It's very, very scary, okay?"
Seeing his face suddenly darken, she did not feel the slightest fear but instead burst into laughter.
"Haha... Mr. Holmes! You look the scariest right now." She laughed so uncontrollably that she leaned over and lightly hit the man who was driving.
Lily Turner's sudden action startled the unguarded Easton Holmes, but fortunately, his driving skills were solid, or they would have veered off onto the curb.
"Is it really that funny?"
An ominous voice floated over from beside her, instantly halting Lily Turner's laughter. She covered her mouth with her hand, shaking her head repeatedly, "No, it's not funny."
Even though she said it wasn't funny, she couldn't help but laugh. She had only transitioned from a loud laugh to a stifled giggle.
"If you want to laugh, just laugh. I'm not responsible if you hold it in and it bothers you." Easton Holmes glanced at the woman suppressing her laughter and, as he turned back, the corners of his mouth lifted uncontrollably.
Lily Turner immediately retorted with her hand over her mouth, "It's my choice if I want to hold it in and feel uncomfortable."
"As long as you're happy."
The curve at Easton Holmes' mouth lifted even more, and his once stern face seemed to be gradually warming and brightening under the sunlight.
After the joking passed, Lily Turner gradually quieted down. She wanted to ask Easton Holmes where exactly he was taking her, but remembering how she had asked several times before to no avail, she could only pout, unable to bring herself to ask again.
Unable to get an answer from him, and being directionally challenged herself, she sighed unconsciously at the car window.
Lily Turner's inadvertent sigh happened to reach Easton Holmes' ears. He instinctively turned to look at her and saw her looking weighed down with worry, causing him to frown, "What's wrong?"
"Where are you taking me?" Hearing him ask, Lily Turner seized the moment to voice the question that had been weighing on her throughout the journey.
