Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 373 - 368 Unfortunate Luo Xuan_1
Luo Xuan, upon hearing this, was at first stunned, then looked around and realized there was no one else there. It dawned on him then that the damn rabbit was calling him a jujube!
Luo Xuan was furious, "Rabbit, you don’t know what’s good for you!"
While speaking, Luo Xuan reached out to grab Qin Shou!
A branch immediately sprouted from the green onions on Qin Shou’s wrist, whipping towards Luo Xuan like a massive whip!
Seeing this, Luo Xuan burst into laughter, "I am the Huode Star Monarch! I particularly overcome these wood spirits; a mere plant spirit dares to strike at me?"
As he spoke, Luo Xuan’s body was enveloped in vigorous flames, and when Conghua’s branch struck the fire, it withered instantly, its leaves catching fire!
Conghua quickly withdrew its branch, and Qin Shou, seeing that it seemed unable to protect him anymore and that he couldn’t launch an attack, realized he had no choice but to run. But how could his two legs outrun a horse? Just as he thought of horses, Qin Shou suddenly remembered that he seemed to have a horse...
But at this moment, it seemed a bit too late to bring out his Pegasus Dragon Carriage...
Just when Qin Shou thought he couldn’t escape and was about to be caught, a loud shout came, "Luo Xuan, there’s someone behind you!"
Luo Xuan only felt a gust of wind behind his head, and as he turned around, he saw a pitch-black object smashing towards his face! It was too dark to see what it was; it was just all black!
Luo Xuan, in a rage, drew out his Flying Smoke Sword with both hands!
Clang!
He managed to catch the black object!
Laughing, Luo Xuan said, "You think such petty tricks can ambush me? Ha..."
Bang!
A dull thud, and Luo Xuan felt something smash into the back of his head, causing his eyes to see stars, his mind no longer clear.
But Luo Xuan was not willing to give up; gritting his teeth, he turned to look, only to see a huge object before him.
Luo Xuan couldn’t see clearly, swaying and slurring, "Who..."
Bang!
Luo Xuan’s head was struck from behind again, and upon turning his head, it was that dark, murky object...
Bang!
Luo Xuan was hit in the back of the head once more, completely blacking out, knowing nothing more.
"I told you there was someone behind you, yet you turned back..." a voice said mockingly.
As Luo Xuan fell, the fire crows overhead dispersed with a woosh, and the Red Smoke Colt beneath him neighed mournfully, lifted its legs, and ran, but a large pot fell from the sky with a clang, trapping it inside!
Qin Shou looked closely and saw two black-clothed, masked people appear before him.
Qin Shou grinned, "Thanks for the help, masters, I’m off!"
"How did you know it was us?" one of them asked.
Qin Shou covered his face, "Master, you’re holding your De Tower—do you think I’m blind? And Master Kitchen God, didn’t you use this pot to catch Dog Xiaotian last time?"
Hearing this, the two masked figures’ faces crumped in embarrassment, and they waved their hands, "Just go, get out of here, and don’t come back until the Jade Emperor isn’t looking for you."
Qin Shou pointed at the Red Smoke Colt trapped in the big pot and said, "This thing looks pretty rare; it might taste good with some chili peppers. If you guys aren’t eating it, why not give it to me?"
The Kitchen God reacted with a kick and scolded, "If you eat the Red Smoke Colt, won’t Luo Xuan fight you to the death?"
Qin Shou replied, "Didn’t we already have a fight to the death?"
The Kitchen God thought it over and seemed to agree...
Qin Shou then said, "Does this horse talk? If it does, it must have overheard everything just now. If it goes back and snitches... Masters, I’m doing this for your own good. You don’t want this karma; I can handle it myself."
The Kitchen God mused that Master Lu did have a point. Turning to Master Lu, who lifted the lid off the wok and with a direct swing of his axe, the Red Smoke Colt let out a mournful neigh and fell to the ground, motionless.
Qin Shou hurriedly tied it up with a rope...
Why say ’tied it up’? Because the rope was already securing three other unlucky fellows - Jing Wood Moose, Dou Wood Rhino, and Kui Wood Wolf.
This time, Qin Shou was smarter. He summoned the Pegasus Dragon Carriage, stuffed all the captives into it, and with a whip of the reins, the carriage whizzed off, took a turn, and headed back towards Tianyong City.
"You foolish rabbit, where do you think you’re going?" the Kitchen God stopped him with a hand.
Qin Shou replied, "In my haste to flee, I forgot my wife is still in there!"
Master Lu said, "You run your own way, you and Chang’e are not the same. At most, you’re a pet. Gouchen might be an overlord, but he wouldn’t stoop to harming innocent bystanders or commit such lowly acts!"
Qin Shou asked, "Are you sure?"
"Rest assured, with me here, she’ll be absolutely fine!" Master Lu declared, thumping his chest.
Qin Shou looked at Master Lu, and Master Lu looked back at Qin Shou. In the end, Qin Shou chose to believe Master Lu. Time was running out, so fleeing was the smartest move!
Thus, Qin Shou turned the carriage around and made a beeline for the Southern Gate.
The major battle here was being covertly observed by many, but none dared to step forward.
Those covertly observing belonged to one of two types: one was idly watching for fun, who would only look and not comment.
Though Gouchen was the current Heavenly Emperor, everyone knew that it was only because the Jade Emperor was in closed-door cultivation, which was why Gouchen’s word carried weight. Once the Jade Emperor returned, Gouchen would immediately have to pack up and leave.
It was clear that the Jade Emperor was on the Rabbit’s side, so, to avoid getting involved in this karma, everyone pretended not to see what was happening.
The other type of observers had taken sides. Those on Rabbit’s side were jubilant to see the rabbit running away.
As for those on Gouchen’s side... it seemed that none were present at the scene!
Those watching the excitement also quietly speculated amongst themselves.
"Looks like the Rabbit is planning an escape?"
"Gouchen is really bold. Although the disciples of Jie Cult harbor resentment towards the Heavenly Court, no matter how resentful, they have no major vendetta against the rabbit. Moreover, being used as pawns now, won’t they suffer once the Jade Emperor comes out? Although they shout to catch the rabbit, they might not be using their full strength."
"Not necessarily. These guys haven’t made a move in a long time. Finding someone worth fighting, they might bring out their wives and children to get in some practice. Look at Luo Xuan, he’s released his magic treasure, to show off, right? But what was the result? He didn’t catch the rabbit, and even lost his horse..."
"They probably didn’t expect that there would be someone bold enough to stand up and help the rabbit."
"Who were those two just now?"
"No idea!"
The crowd collectively shook their heads. Whether they truly didn’t know, only they themselves were aware.
"If I were Gouchen, I would have just taken matters into my own hands! Or, I could simply send a trusted aide to do it. Wouldn’t that be easy?"
"That’s not right. I heard that Emperor Gouchen sent his confidant, Yuheng Star Monarch from The Big Dippers, to supervise the battle. Why hasn’t he appeared?"
...
In Tianyong City, at the Water Flower Building, atop the roof in the Pavilion of Wind and Water.
A man in a scholar’s robe stood with one hand behind his back, looking up at the sky as he recited, "The blue sea makes all other waters unworthy of the name, After Wushan, all other clouds are mere puffballs above..."
"The blue sea makes all other waters unworthy of the name, After Wushan, all other clouds are mere puffballs above... So am I the waters of the blue sea, the clouds of Wushan?" a woman clad in a jade-colored dress clapped her hands as she approached Wenqu Star Monarch.
The eyes of Wenqu Star Monarch flickered with slight panic...
At this moment, atop the roof sat a Taoist priest, with a dashing beard, carrying a longsword, exuding an air of celestial elegance. But his eyes brimmed with the tenderness of spring water. The Taoist’s lips parted slightly, as though he was transmitting a message.
